I like how there’s literally a seafood market right inside the restaurant. It immediately makes the food even more fresh! We order a cup of clams and a cup of mussels, I swear, it’s not A Cup! I don’t know why, but the calamari taste good and different from those fancy Italian restaurants. The sitting area is huge! There’s outdoor sitting, too. It’s right next to the beach. It’s not a fancy seafood restaurant, but for some reason, everything taste better here, even the coke!!

This was our first time. There is two parts to the restaurant. One side the meals are posted and ready to cook. We went to the left side where the fresh fish was located. We got a nice piece of Salmon and large wild caught shrimp. You get two sides and there is a fee to cook the food. It was absolutely tasty. I also got the lobster bisque soup and it was good. Loved the hush puppies. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Very close to the pier!

As a fish market, this may deserve 4 stars. However, as a restaurant, this is a tourist trap in every cents of the word. The food is pricey, service is near none (cafeteria style) with picnic table seating. One might wonder in here but look for your cooked seafood elsewhere.

So good. Would definitely stop by here again for lunch. We had the sea bass salad and the lobster roll. They were fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Lots of seating options. Really enjoy the picnic tables and catching some views of the ocean.

I've been coming here since the 80's and love the indoor and outdoor seating. I always seem to get the oyster either fried or raw although I have tried the fish sandwiches and clam chowder. This one of my favorite spots to bring friends and relatives who enjoy the fresh fish selections and the atmosphere.

Love Captain Kidd's. During the week is for us the best time to go , with pandemics going on... not crowded we drove 85 miles one way to get the fresh sea food there..

I ordered the char broiled snapper, jasmine rice, and corn on the cobb, along with fried clam strips. She didn't know what kind of clams. I was hoping it was razor clams, but it wasn't. Ended up being tiny little pieces of clams and heavily breaded. Didn't eat much of it, but I can't fault them much, just expectation management. My number was called and I didn't see my order. I stepped aside and ordered some oysters as well. My number was called again. Didn't recognize it because my snapper was fried. It's not a big deal, mistakes happen. The cook asked the cashier about it and she said I ordered fried. I said I ordered char broiled with the seafood seasoning. She again said I ordered fried. No, I didn't. And while mistakes are fine, this - arguing with me about it - isn't, and I about walked out right there. While I waited for the correct order, the oysters were great. The cook brought my plate to me, the fish was great. But I didn't get the jasmine rice I ordered, just the plain white rice. Whatever, I'm not going to deal with it. Corn was soggy like it had been sitting in the water too long. If you get seafood, it is worth it. The sides, if you even get the correct ones, not so much.

Enjoyed the patio seating. My Red Snapper was good, but the hushpuppies were overcooked and the macaroni salad was so-so. Really like the fresh seafood area where you can select your items to take home and watch then shuck oysters.

The perfect beach seafood restaurant. Plenty of ventilated or outdoor seating, an impressive market of fresh seafood, excellent combo plate of fried seafood, and great gumbo. Plus you can watch the boats come and go. Highly recommended.

The food is good but it was cold because we are outside and did not hear A number being called. When we paid, the cashier assured us that we would hear our number called but we didn't. Also there is a line of garbage smear all the way to the trash and the trash door was open and there was graffiti all over the bathroom and bits of garbage on the floor and it was just gross for a fresh food place. I picked up some litter on the way out of there because I was so ashamed of the way us humans live. And I spoke to the young man who was cleaning a table about the situation I witnessed and he nodded his head.

Went to this wonderful restaurant today! Seafood is great! I bought a burger, they didn't give me more fries and a salad! Everything was very tasty and not expensive! There is a toilet, the toilet is clean. It's important for me. The staff is polite! I was also able to charge my electric scooter, there was a terrace and sockets outside. Thanks! I really enjoyed eating and spending time with you! I recommend everyone to visit!

The first time I visited this fun place in Redondo Beach. A bit loud and even somewhat chaotic during the order process but this just added to the character of the place. I had a traditional fish and chips but their menu is extensive. If you are looking for a genuine seafood place for an informal meal, look no further.

Nice place. It was my first time and I saw that they sell their special seasoning on the side. Food was good but I must have forgot to ask for seasoning on my fish because no flavor at all. Next time I'll know. Wished they would have asked when I ordered. Other than that I would return and try it again.

Nice restaurant! There are many tables for sitting outside and inside. I had Grilled Red Snapper and Crab Cakes! Red Snapper was a little bit overcooked , but good taste. Overall was good!!

I really recommend the grilled catfish if your a catfish lover. I had it Cajun style at it just melted in my mouth with a flavor only grandma can create. The place was relatively clean with indoor and outdoor seating. The best part was the customer service, the cashier was very patient with answering my questions since it was my first time here. She was very polite and offered many recommendations. Love the food here and will be back next time I'm in town.

This is a no frills, cooked to order seafood place that has fresh and quality seafood. There's also a kids menu. You'll most likely wait in line to order. It's well worth the wait.

Captain Kidd's is a must-visit for seafood lovers. The menu is diverse and expertly-prepared, with standout dishes like the fish and chipz. The service is attentive and welcoming, and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or special celebration. Highly recommended!

Polite service when I ordered lunchdeal sandwich with cod..Llittle bit slow preparing but when I receaved it, it was worth waiting. Grilled cod was very good; crispy from the surface and soft inside. For dessert I picked half of douzen oysters and they were marvelleus; fresh, big and chewing sensation was just right. With oysters I had glass of sauvignon blanc. Wine was good enough and amount was generous. Prices: lunch sandwich ~10$ (cheap), Oysters 3.50$ each(reasonable to expensive) and wine 8$(reasonable). 4,5 stars from me.

Reasonably priced. Fresh as it can get. Nice portions. I had a fish sandwich. The bun was a bit thick, so get the plate if you want to keep it low carb. Clean and friendly. They serve alcohol too!

Generally, a very nice place. Had the fish and chips. The fish was a bit too greasy but not inedible. The chips were cold. Staff was pleasant. Covid policy was being handled very well. All staff and most patrons complied.

The clam chowder was delicious. I thought the grilled fish tacos were bland. Food was cold, forgot some of our order and gave us the wrong soda...definitely room for improvement! I'd still go back for the chowder.

Best seafood spot in Hermosa Beach super casual, fresh seafood for purchase or prepared while you wait. Open bench seating with plenty outside. Perfect lunch stop if you bike ride on the Marvin Braude Bike path. Great for families!

We really loved this place we had the jumbo shrimp dinner and 1/2 lb of scallops dinner forgot that we could goto the market and pick up fresh seafood and they will cook it for you. I would suggest you go early since outdoor seating is limited. Oh and to get inside you have to go in the front of the place, confusing if you park in the paid parking lot...

We've eaten at the New England Lobster Market many times, and it was the only thing our daughter wanted for her birthday. So yesterday we had a "Social Distancing" virtual Zoom birthday party lobster dinner. The New England Lobster Market delivered our five 1.5 pound live Maine lobsters to San Jose. The driver was super polite and the lobsters were active & fresh.

What a nice place. I love this type of casual seafood. The fish and chips were particularly good. Not too greasy and not over battered with excellent fries aka chips. But, I really didn't care for the mushy crab cakes. I still look forward to coming back
