UNLESS YOU ARE GETTING YOUR FOOD DELIVERED, DO NOT USE their “order online” option. Just call. You will be charged nearly an extra 30% above normal menu prices. I hadn’t eaten here in a few months and when I saw their prices on the online menu for my usual favorite ($23.99 vs the normal $17.99), I was sad but figured they just went up along with everything else. When I got home, I was looking at their menu, trying to recall a dish I’d had awhile back when I noticed the discrepancy. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for as long as I can remember. At least 2008 or thereabouts. It’s probably my absolute favorite Indian restaurant of all time and I eat Indian everywhere I travel. Their food is spectacular. Eat here. Often. Just do not use their online order site. Please, Star of India, find a better online ordering system, or adequately warn people. If I hadn’t already been a long-time customer, I would have been quite irritated at this extremely large upcharge. I’d hate for you to lose business because of this. Food, as always, was unreal.

Delicious lunch buffet for a very good price. They were pretty busy at lunch but offered a variety of options for food. Good service as well.

Seriously, amazing food! One of my favorite restaurants in the country. The chicken tiki masala (medium) is to die for. As well as the rack of lamb. The grilled steak is so tender and tasty. Add some garlic cheese nan and you think you died and went to heaven. If you love Indian food, or you’ve never tried it before, give this place a shot, your taste buds will thank you and you won’t regret it.

Delicious food and great service! This is my favorite Indian restaurant in town. I recently went full vegan after growing up vegetarian and Star of India has tons of options for me and my gluten free friends. They also have a great deal for carryout!

Lunch buffet! Need I say more? Seriously, the food here is OUTSTANDING, & the staff are excellent - so friendly. Not sure if you'll like Indian? At Star of India, I promise you'll find something for every taste. It's flavorful, but not toooo spicy. Try them!

$47 for this amount of food. Missing order of roti, and such a tiny amount of rice for two entrees. $18 for each of those tiny curry containers. Absolutely. Never. Again.

We've always had great experiences eating at Star of India. Today we finally stopped in for the lunch buffet & it was DELICIOUS! They had a good spread of korma, saag, and Tikka masala along with some other tantalizing dishes. I highly recommend you stop by if you haven't already.

We have ordered a number of times from star during the pandemic and have come to find one thing. Prices are to high for such small portions. We paid 80$+ collectively for four, and were given enough food for 2.5 people. Though it is good, it is not nearly this good. I would urge you to evaluate the portion sizes compared to the price.

Everything they make in their lunch buffet is excellent. So far, this is by far the best Indian restaurant we have had on the front range. The service is always great. They are also very helpful with our family's gluten allergies, out of dozens of meals here nobody has gotten sick because of flour sneaking into the gluten free food.

BEST Indian food in town! Fantastic prices and variety. I’m not a huge fan of super hot food but they make it very mild while still having full flavor. Lunch buffets are mind blowing my tasty and I like to experiment away from my usual:)

I really love the lunch buffet! $15 for a fantastic lunch. The food is delicious and their sauces are so yummy. Definitely need to try the Tamarind sauce! Also, I think their Naan is the best I’ve ever had! This place is so good and I love to support local.

Amazing, just amazing. The food is so good! For lunch they have a wonderful buffet and for dinner a classy table service. I totally recommend the white chocolate and pistachio ice cream. Probably the best ice cream I have ever had. Also the Chicken is so good!

You guys. The food is great, but the service is even better. Ask for Lavi, she's amazing! Great guide to the menu, knows how to work around allergies and food preferences. She knows her food and drinks. She is hilarious and just made our night so much better. I love this place! 10/5 stars!

Best Indian food I've EVER had. Flavorful, filling and well made. Lots of options, including gluten free and dairy free. Waiters asked about allergies, which I don't see many restaurants do anymore. Overall fantastic service and meal. Will DEFINITELY be returning!! Even the simple non-alcoholic drinks are a delight. I recommend the Lavender lemonade. Even on a Saturday, not a lot of people were in there. Which is fine! Makes for quick service. Oh, and they have those rareally good chocolate mints. That's a plus!

Hands down the best place to east some finger licking north Indian food! There are many restaurants that claim authenticity and service, but none comes anywhere close to Star of India. I'm a picky eater and my non-Indian wife even pickier - and we both LOVE their food. The buffet offers way more choices, freshness, and never running out supply of hott off the kitchen food. Their pakoras are divine, all curries very well balanced, and who serves 3 desserts at buffet???? Great choices of libation too ;-) Another great thing about this place is their service. Typically Indian restaurants do not have any concept of service or even paying attention to the customer... not this place. Staff here would come check on you every 3-5 minutes, will take extra needs into consideration, always smile on their faces, and overall very happy. The management is doing something very right here. The location is fantastic, the place is clean, parking could be better.. but its understandable at such a location. Visit them, enjoy them, tip the staff well, and keep going.

Love this place. So many vegan and vegetarian options and they're all amazing. I was glad to see them taking extensive percautions--leaves me with one less worry. It will always be my first stop every time I visit foco. Get the tarka dal + veggies, you won't be disappointed!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The food is fresh and delicious. If you like spicy, you’re going to love this place. However, if spice is not your thing, that’s ok because there are plenty of options. I also want to mention the precautions the staff took in regards to COVID-19. The staff wore masks and gloves at all times and was very cautious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Star is my favorite restaurant, hands down. Great food, fabulous drinks, and stellar service, every single time. They're taking great care to keep us all safe during this time (single use gloves, masks, plexi glass, etc.), and still find time to give back to the community. Thanks Star!! ❤❤❤

Indian food has never been part of my dining out repertoire until a friend brought me here one night 5 years ago. I was immediately hooked and have been eating there on a regular basis ever since. There is a huge variety of absolutely delicious food, yummy cocktails and the service elevates the entire experience. They have many gluten free options too, which is great. I love the muligatawny soup, Tandoori lamb racks and the Briyani, but everything is delicious. My fave restaurant in N. Colorado!

I stumbled upon this place with my three kids in tow. My kids are extremely picky and this was their first introduction to Indian food. I was terrified that they would not eat a single thing. I've never had a dining experience where my kids loved absolutely everything. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Waitstaff was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

  • 5/5 Emily M. 1 year ago on Google
Very impressed with my first visit. The spice level of my entree was exactly what I would expect for what I asked for. The portions are very generous and definitely justify the price. We were helped and checked on by multiple staff members. The waitress assigned to our check was attentive and not unfriendly. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of great dishes on the menu - definitely going to be back to try more.

I've been coming to Star for 4-5 years now and it's ALWAYS been GREAT! I've tried a few other places in Noco and none compare. The service is awesome and also very friendly. Also in one of my recent dine in experiences. I noticed the booths/tables, as well as dishes have all been updated making the environment that much more nice and enjoyable. Thank you Star of India for being one of my favorites to frequent as well as bring in friends and family.

We've been going to Star of India for years, it's for sure the best Indian food in town! My favorites are the chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori, and the mango lassi! 5 stars!

  • 5/5 Andrew M. 6 months ago on Google
Where do I begin? I had the steak achari (hot), a mango lassi, and a small order of gulab jamun. They were all immaculate and tasted divine. I have absolutely nothing to say short of the highest praise. My server was Kat. Kat was fantastic. She was very courteous and assured me she could help with any questions or difficulties ordering. If you dont know how to eat or order Indian food, youll feel comfortable but not condescended to. Thankfully, I know a little bit about Indian food and she was extremely friendly the entire night. She went and beyond with making sure I was taken care of. You can tell she is just a good human being. Atmosphere is very homey and casual. Full bar, great decor, it was such a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. Excellent. 10/10.

I have unfortunately been disappointed time after time with inconsistent food quality. If they were competitively priced with other similar restaurants i be more willing to over look the food quality. But they are charging so much now they will take you to the cleaners. In my opinion there charging like if they are top tier. Unfortunately they are far from top tier.

So happy this restaurant exists! I'd eat here daily if I still lived in the area. Odd to see a couple of these disgruntled reviews, as I've had nothing but incredible food and service every visit. The restaurant is always clean and inviting, and this place will forever be my fave. Thanks Lavi and crew!

I have always loved this place, but since the shutdown they have REALLY stepped up their game with the buffet. It’s so safe and they give great portions and I think it’s way better than it was before and it was really great then too! So excited they are open!

This Beautiful Restaurant made my day even more special when they reserved me the patio space for my wedding reception! It was perfect and intimate and very private! The flowers and lights dressed up for our reception was so special! It’s a day I’ll never forget! Even though we sat outside our food was as hot as ever (temperature wise) ? Thank you to the whole Star Team, for a night to remember forever!

My daughter and I went for the lunch buffet. We arrived just after they opened at 11a. We weren't sure what to expect of a buffet during Covid, but the staff have a good system worked out! Many tables were blocked off to ensure social distancing. The food and a server were behind a plexiglass partition, and the buffet items were posted there (name and ingredients). The server gave me small portions of the items I had never heard of so that I could decide what I liked without much waste. Even when the place filled up some, the line for the buffet moved quickly. The food was excellent, with a special shout out to the veggie pakora, chicken masala, and veggie korma! Paying was contactless, and if the bill was a bit higher than I was expecting, it was worth it to have great Indian food in a clean environment where the staff put a huge emphasis on safety. SO happy that these folks are doing it right!

Wow, they are doing wonders to keep the community safe while serving up delicious food. Everyone was wearing face masks and gloves. They have curb-side pick up where you tell them your make and model, and they bring the food to you by placing the food in your trunk or back seat (your preference). I always loved this restaurant before this pandemic, and the steps they are taking to keep the community safe are above and beyond. I look forward to continuing to support one of my favorites for years to come!

We are long-time customers of Star of India. The food is always great, the staff wonderful, the ambiance excellent. Yesterday was our first dine-in experience during the pandemic. The restaurant has clearly taken the health and safety of their staff and their customers seriously and professionally. Thank you.

AMAZING! I’ve tried Indian food from states across the country and from other countries (Canada and Thailand) and this food was absolutely delicious and one is the top ones! I’ve had better chicken tikka masala elsewhere (usually one of my favorites) but every dish here was full of flavor the right way. Authentic North Indian/Punjabi cuisine! I especially love the saag because it’s difficult to master this dish and they nailed it!! The naan was perfectly cooked and flavorful too! ? So glad my husband and I decided to go here on our honeymoon out of state. Also, we felt SO safe with all their precautions and the way the buffet is served. Excellent job all around! I’ll be dreaming of this place when we leave.

Star of India is a restaurant that has firmly cemented its reputation in Fort Collins as the best Indian restaurant and a leader within the local culinary landscape. The food is consistently outstanding and versatile with spice. I guarantee that most people can find something that they will love here. Coupled with the great food, is an excellent drink menu that is extremely enjoyable to peruse. I find myself getting at least a couple drinks whenever I eat here. Another thing: Star of India’s response to the Covid-19 situation is nothing short of impressive. Their care and dedication to maintain a safe restaurant environment is much appreciated. You can now dine in safely with ease. Plus the buffet is now open too! Although there is no self service like before, they have set it up so that everything is easy to see and you can read all of the labels. Lastly, Star has been super generous during these hard times. They have set up a free area to grab non perishable food items for anyone that needs them. No purchase required purely done to give back to the community. Star of India truly is not just an excellent restaurant, but is a dedicated community member. Definitely give this place a try!

Items are clearly marked as gluten-free and vegan. The staff is kind. We were very pleased with the safety precautions taken during the coronavirus pandemic. The buffet is set up cafeteria style so that the workers serve the food from behind plexiglass.

HANDS DOWN my favorite restaurant in Northern Colorado! Where do I even begin.. from the phenomenal service each and every experience, to the delicious cuisine that will never disappoint— you need to check this exquisite place out, today! Although you could never go wrong, my personal favorites are the dal soup, the vegetable samosa appetizer, and any of the tofu/vegetable entrees! I normally choose between the coconut curry, madras, or mango for my sauce to pair! Last but not least, a Star of India meal is never complete without a specialty Nan bread, which can be served both regular, garlic, or gluten free. They serve meat and dairy, however especially accommodate those who are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free! There cocktail list is truly extensive as well, with endless crafted cocktails, local beers, and perfect-pairing wines. All in all, I have NOTHING bad to say.... And I’m already craving them today!! :-)

I just want to start by saying what a wonderful experience we have at Star of India, every time that we dine in, or take out.The food is amazingly good, with a lot of excellent choices, their hospitality is equally matching, in a very clean and safe environment especially now, and in the past. As far as my wife and I are concerned, we feel that we will always have an excellent experience, returning with great pleasure. To close my review, I'd say "Star(s) of India" to be more exact ...five.

Best Indian food Ever! We come here at least once a year from South Dakota...a 5 hr drive...to get our fix. They have been around for 27 years! Must be doing a lot right. Never had a bad meal in 20 plus years. Very friendly staff & accommodating. Clean & safe. Don’t mis this lovely place.

Our first time ordering from Star of India. Unfortunately, it's also our last. I see all of the five-star reviews and I wish that our experience was the same, but my wife and I are both disappointed in the food, and the prices. What else is there for takeout if the food and prices are a miss? We ordered: Paneer Nan (house made cheese, herbs & butter) - $3.99; Vegetable Starter Platter (sampler of a veggie samosa, aloo tikki & vegetable pakoras) -$8.99; Steak Tandoori (the menu says "thin cut" steak kabab marinated in herbs & spices) - $19.99. The portion was very small and I expected so much more for $20. Wildly overpriced. Not only was the portion small, but the beef was not thin-cut, and was tough and dry. We both agreed on that. I saw that another reviewer posted a similar comment about being dry with small portions. The vegetable "starter" plate was also oddly dry.

Just left Star of India with an easy, safe experience. The restaurant has reorganized to ensure all customers are 6 ft apart. The buffet is now no longer self-serve to ensure health guidelines. The new system was very easy to use and the food was amazing as always! Please go support this local restaurant— truly a staple in the Fort Collins area.

? ? Yay! The Star is OPEN AGAIN!!! I can't believe they have been able to figure out a creative and safe way to serve the buffet! I didn't think I'd go to any buffet again in 2020. This is great. Patio OR dining room and very carefully cleaned. If you are having Tikka Masala withdrawals, like me, you have got to go!

Great GF and vegan selections. Consistency is something you'll find here. They are definitely pricey but they do offer coupons. Monday nights is an all you can eat buffet. They have safety measures in place and all staff wear masks and gloves (i am not sure if they change them between tables). The buffet is also manned by staff to reduce contamination. My favorite is the lamb Tikka Masala and the gluten free garlic naan. Delicious ?. Oh and don't forget the chai!!

We have been coming here the last couple summers. We are seasonal residents, and absolutely love this place. As we came back in summer 2020, we were a bit leery with a buffet during pandemic times. We were pleasantly surprised to find that EXTRAORDINARY precautions are being taken to allow us a safe, satisfying, and delightful experience. The entire lineup on the Monday night buffet is walled off to customers. Instead, you simply approach and let the attendant know what you're having. They will plate it for you (amply, if you're not careful to say not!) And pass it along, without any additional contact between patrons. The food is always amazing and well seasoned. The staff is always very pleasant, and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. We will continue to return for the Monday night buffet.

Normally i would give this restaurant 5 stars because the food is amazing, but during the pandemic (covid-19) their staff on the takeout buffet (7/31/2020 @ 11:15am) have garnered this awful experience. For one, they serve a soup like dish, daal, that they want to put in a cardboard container. I asked if they had anything for soup that they could give because we’ll, it’s to go, and it’s liquid, and i truly do not want my car messed up. She seemed flustered and instead of just asking or having someone speak to me she decided to reprimand me and let me know to not make this a habit before grabbing a proper to go container for liquids. Even for the sauces, there are no to go cups. She wanted to poor the tamarind sauce in the bottom of the container. I would say wait until their restaurant is better equipped to handle a buffet situation because right now they are not. I would suggest ordering off the main menu because there is a possibility it will be better put together for transportation. You’re given a more solid container for cold items (as far as seal), and the naan you’d be served in the restaurant (and i put desert in my small container), but for $15.05 after tax I’d say steer clear of the buffet for now. However, when they are able to open, this is a much much better experience, just not during the pandemic.
