They are disorganized and completely unsupportive of the students. They lie about the military discount. i am active duty and my daughter did not get the discount. they raise tuition without telling the families. It is basically a school that caters to medicaid and minorities. My daughter is top of her class and she still cannot get scholarships because she is not a minority. It is a slap in the face to an active duty single parent who is trying to provide an education for my child. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. If you are military go else where SOUTHWEST is ANTI-MILITARY.

Tried getting a hold of the Imaging Department and it was a mission that wasn't possible. Gina Zuniga has a mailbox that is too full and won't allow any more messages. On top of that, she didn't even bother to give me a call back after leaving a message with the receptionist. They're quick to call you back when it comes to enrolling but anything else they leave you high and dry. I wish I could leave no stars because they don't even deserve one.

So far, my experience at Southwest University has been great. A big part of it being great is thanks to professor Cesar Guzman. He goes out of his way to help his students in reaching their goals, and he encourages you to be the best you can be. I felt privileged to be in his class. He is an incredible teacher, and I wish I could have taken more classes with him because I actually enjoyed going to school/class and I learnt so much from him. I hope that everyone has the opportunity to take at least one class with him and see for themselves why I say he is incredible at what he does. Mr. Guzman, thank you!

I am a recent graduate from Southwest University. I graduated in March of 2021 with my AAS MA. I was very nervous to enroll in school in my 40's. Southwest University is an AMAZING school that cares about the success of their students. After working in the Healthcare Field, I decided to re-enroll in Southwest University to get a Bachelor's of Science in Healthcare Administration. I was apprehensive about enrolling again in school. I had an appointment with Ruby Ramirez who is an Admissions Advisor on campus. She not only answered all my questions, but she welcomed me back to Southwest University and made me feel great for pursuing my education. I cannot wait to begin this new milestone in my life and I am super excited that many of my classes from my AAS MA program actually transferred and will be accepted for my new degree plan. The next three years will definitely pay off and I cannot wait to obtain my Bachelor's of Science in Healthcare Administration. Thank you Ruby Ramirez for today and getting me excited again to go back to school. I guarantee, the entire staff at Southwest University will help answer any questions you might have about the admissions process and once you start your classes, all the teachers are going to be there for you! Definitely take the next steps and enroll in Southwest University! You will not be disappointed! UPDATE: I just completed my first term into my Bachelor's of Science in Healthcare Administration program. I had great professors this term and learned a lot!! For those who are about to take Electronic Medical Billing with Ms. Barreras, you are in great hands! She is an amazing professor and will help you step by step throughout the course. Her experience in the field will definitely help you to understand the material. Thanks for everything Ms. Barreras!!! I look forward to having you again next term for Quality Assessment and Performance.

So far my experience at this school has been extremely positive, the staff are very helpful and respectful. A specific staff member, Mrs. Breeden (My anatomy and med term teacher) has stood out from any other teachers I have had. Her love for teaching radiates, she is amazing at what she does, she genuinely cares for each and every one of her student's success in and outside of class. I look forward to showing up to her class daily and getting to enjoy her lectures. It has been such a privilege and blessing to have had the opportunity to learn from this outstanding woman. I highly recommend her for any class she teaches.

I think the school should still be closed due to many many risks of infection of all students and workers, due to publice gatherings that should be avoided, a great school but i think you guys should think about safety first.

I love this school! It is amazing and have a pretty good staff. Also, the instructors are very friendly and helpful. My counselor, Amber Bricks is an awesome person and she is so kind and beautiful. The buildings are cute and they have security for you to feel comfortable. They have more than 20 programs. I love SU!:) Hopefully I will graduate in May 2023!!

The school frauds the Federal Student Aid and G.I. Bill by purposely delaying students' graduation dates so they can squeeze every last penny. Virtually, very few people obtain certifications in the medical programs. Further, the school falsifies post graduation employment figures giving government and students false information. This school also has it's employees leave 5 star reviews

I started here from the beginning and got my associates, now my bachelors, and soon my masters, all thanks to the incredible staff for making it such a seamless, and effortless transition through the years. Elisa, Amber, Christina, and Andres have all been a huge help and always answer any questions or concerns that I have which is extremely helpful for all of us that have work, school and extra activities going on. Truly a great experience and glad I made the choice to attend Southwest University.

I attended Southwest University in 2014 and I got my degree for Medical Assistant in just 9 months! I really wanted to expand my career and registered again in 2018. I did not want to go to another university because Southwest is the best choice! The office staff will help you through every step in registration. The professors are amazing! The best in the city.

My enrollment process into southwest was great and smooth. I would like to thank my advisor, Amber, she is always very sweet and makes you feel at ease. Amber was so patient and made everything so easy for me. Since the very beginning amber was helpful and was always available to answer any questions I had. I would definitely recommend amber as an advisor. She is the best! Anything I needed she was there to assist me. Overall, my experience at southwest has been great everyone is so friendly.

Southwest university has given me the opportunity to continue school, with the flexibility in my schedule, I am able to spend quality time with my family and continue my full time job. The teachers are amazing, they understand the struggle and difficulty it is to set time aside for homework and are willing to spend their personal time to help you. I am grateful to have found an outstanding University. Thank you.

2022 is my second year enrolled at Southwest University. Here at Southwest your dedication and hard work will not go unnoticed as Cari Jo Pritchard has recognized my success and now I am a part of the prestigious organization of National Technical Honor Society. There is plenty of help to get you started speaking with Brenda and Ruby who are in admission to get you all information. The admissions stay connected through your journey of academics along with some great professors and helped me ensure all my credits from previous academic year get transferred along fitting my schedule by having day or night classes available. Southwest University builds a positive environment and get students involved by having events for everyone to join that encourages me to come back in the future earning another degree. No matter what program you follow through there will always be a reaching hand to help you be successful.

I have attended another university but it never felt quite right. Southwest university has made me feel more engaged and excited about school. Ms. Breeden specifically has been such a great teacher who you can see cares for her students! One of the best instructors I’ve had in all of my academic career.

SU is such an amazing school for the El Paso community. I know many people that have graduated from there and given good reviews! It is good to have a school that helps students with not just education but with busy schedules of life. Amazing !

Southwest university is amazing. I just enrolled and I love the classes and the people. Everyone is just so welcoming there. My admissions adviser Amber was so helpful and just made the whole experience go so smooth. She made me feel like I was joining a happy family. Finally a school that is accepting and welcoming of the LGBTQIA+ community. Other schools made me feel unwelcome, but were so welcoming to students who were not part of my community.

I’m a graduate of Southwest University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management. I truly couldn’t be any happier. My beautiful experience wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the amazing staff and more than qualified instructors. A special thank you to Mr. Noé Rodriguez for all of his dedication and patience, not only is he an amazing instructor, but he is also one of the best lawyers in town. I do have to admit that his business law class was hands down my favorite!!

My experience at SU has been very enjoyable and the staff are always extremely helpful! @Jorge Ernesto Hernandez Flores was my phlebotomy instructor and made the first time experience not only comfortable but exciting! He made the class quick and easy, taking the time to instruct and work hands on with students when needed. I would personally recommend his class to others if they want to really grasp the concept and have fun.

Great experience! Very helpful and attentive. My advisor Amber Brinks was the best!! from the moment I met her she made sure I was comfortable and was very patient and very knowledgeable. They will help you with all the steps you need to get started. The staff is great and super friendly. You can’t walk down a hallway with out hearing someone greet you with a smile. You don’t see that often now a days. I would definitely recommend this University! Thank you for all your help Southwest!

I am very excited to be starting my journey at Southwest University. The enrollment process was a smooth and wonderful experience, thanks to my advisor Amber. She really is awesome! From the very beginning she was very friendly, and such a joyous person. She immediately made me feel welcomed, and made sure to make the process an easy one. Everything was explained clearly and thoroughly, as she was very informative. I am looking forward to starting my classes this September! 🙂

Southwest is an amazing school, it opened up so many doors for me! I graduated last year with an Associates for Medical assistant and I’m hoping to get back in again to further my career. My advisor Ruby Ramirez has been such a blessing, she has helped me so much with the process of getting back in. She’s so supportive and never tires of my endless questions. Whatever she’s getting paid, they should double it ! She’s amazing, always very patient, and understanding. She celebrates my wins with me and pushed me to continue my education.

This was my first semester back in school and Ms. Breeden set me up for success. She instilled a lot of inspiration and habits in me that I feel will definitely push me to succeed in my education. I hope I get her for another term eventually because her class was transformational in my educational journey. I love how she genuinely cares about our education and it shows through her work. She was ready and eager to help us understand, learn, and grow every day. Really gonna miss being in her class.

Being at Southwest University has been better than I hoped for when I first started. Ruby Ramirez, the admissions advisor has been very helpful with everything there. When I was applying there for the Culinary program, she was very helpful with everything and made me want to be there even more. She was the first person to help me enroll and know what I needed to know when I got there, and I couldn't have had a better a nicer person help me be here. She is a very generous and caring person with whoever she helps. But, the program has been greater and more hands on than i had thought. I couldn't be more excited to finish college here and continue my culinary experience and training here or anywhere where I can put my skills to the test. I love this University and all the great people that have helped me along the way.

I'm so grateful for her time and dedication by helping me through the whole process. I was pretty nervous about returning to school but with her help and guidance everything went smooth as it could be. So thank you Ruby! If anyone is trying to enroll is this school, she is definitely the person you want to trust in this process.

I am currently a MA student and hopefully transition into the nursing program. The teachers here are really awesome and it helps that the teachers here are actually in the medical field. One of my favorite classes here is the Laboratory procedures I & II. This class you are hands on and it teaches the fundamentals of how to correctly draw blood and the type of test we will deal within the MA field. Dr Jorge Hernandez is the evening instructor and he is a really great instructor. He explains everything really well and will go over the material until we do understand it. I know I had some trouble when I was learning how to draw blood and he would always be along my side and guide me through the proper steps. Over all this is a great school and all the instructors here are great. I highly recommend this school if you want to pursue your dream in the medical field.

I'm a new student and i was put at such ease by my advisor Amber. She was so reassuring that i was making the right choice & made the enrollment process so easy. She was so friendly and answered all of my questions, never making me feel like i was asking too much. The enrollment process only made me more excited to start this new chapter at Southwest.

I am a returning student to Southwest University, I attended during 2021 but took a break from school for multiple reasons. When I was re-enrolling into the Associates of Medical Assistant program my advisor Amber Celeste Brinks made the process straight forward and hassle free. I’d also like to thank everyone else who helped with my enrollment process from the Financial aid department, accounting department and all other faculty.

I am 3 classes away from graduating with my associates in medical assistant. I am grateful for the opportunity to study here. The teachers take the time and energy to actually teach you. Included with the AASMA they also certify you in phlebotomy and EKG l, so the opportunities after graduation will be greater.

Southwest University gave me the opportunity to return back to school while having a flexible schedule and instructors that care about you. I'm graduating this year and I've never been let down by them, they have excellent staff and the instructors are very understanding and pro-student. I've been to a different university in the past but it does not compare with SU which is why I tell everyone about this school.

Southwest University has opened the door to endless opportunities. As an Automotive Technology student I have learned so much, the instructors and staff at the auto/diesel shop are amazing. I love that most of our day is spent in the shop doing hands on work, I hate that the time goes by so fast in the shop, by the time I realize it's time to go and I want to keep using tools and learning how to take apart and put parts back together. If I could enroll for another year or two I would, a bachelor's in automotive technology sound good. Something to think about SU?

I joined the SU team in 2017, and I'm finally living that saying "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life". The moment I joined the team I was welcomed as family. Everyday with my SU family is full of laughter and fun. The support and appreciation for what I do motivates and fuels my drive to give my best to our future nurses. SU is the best working and learning environment I've every had to pleasure to be a part of. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am still on the fence about this University. My son wants to be a nurse but doesn't have time or money to go all the way to UTEP. I am 40 yrs old and need a good paying job. I'm thinking of doing the sonography program. However, I am concerned about the accreditation it's not regionally accredited as far as I know. My son wants to eventually be a Nurse Practitioner and I'm concerned about his transfers. Anyone know?
