Beautiful, rugged scenery, amazing wilderness. Saw seals, lots of birds, waterfalls from the ship. Nearly untouched nature. Amazing.

The Tongass is the nation’s largest national forest and covers most of Southeast Alaska, surrounding the famous Inside Passage and offers unique chances to view eagles, bears, spawning salmon, and the breath-taking vistas of “wild” Alaska. Hike or take a sled-dog ride on a glacier, stroll along boardwalk trails. Great place to visit or explore.

Took an excursion during a cruise and the vessel we were on was supposed to take us up close to the glacier. There were too many icebergs in the water because it had been so warm and so we could only get about 1 mile close to the glacier. It's okay... it was still a very beautiful experience and one that I will never forget. Such a magical place!! 😍 Definitely recommend checking it out if you are in Alaska!!!

Hiked up Minerva Mountain and down the other side. Beautiful dark green forest. It gets muddy up top. Proper foot wear is necessary.

Can't miss it. Largest rain forest in the world we were told. Every one should try to visit Alaska, spectacular sights everywhere to be seen. Beautiful country. We will be returning.

Really nice for a hike. I recommend the nugget falls trail. All the trailes are moderate and short walks from the visitor center. Also the park was fairly busy when we went in the morning.

Beautiful hike but not for anyone who has issues walking up stairs or uneven surfaces. Will be too tough. We did the 2 hour hike and while it was nice. I saw everything in the last 20 minutes I wanted to see.

How could one place hold so much beauty? Good trails and somewhat easy walk to the waterfall. Wish I'd had more time!

We visited via the WHITE PASS RAILROAD. The narration that we were given during the tour was fabulous. The views were spectacular, and the train was amazing. Being able to ride narrow gage train and see what people had to endure to try to find their gold was incredible.

Lovely one mile hike that is flat enough for a stroller. Make sure to remove your shoes and walk through some shallow water to the base of Nugget Falls

A very beautiful place. But the old growth needs cleaned up. A fire waiting to happen. Look at the forests in Europe all cleaned up. Go Trump!

Having been through the land and sea passageway, I have been in a lot of area. The size and land mass is astonishing. There are few words that can describe how magnificent and peaceful this area is. Being nearly 11 million acres, this is a diverse land mass. Hiking, boating, and seeing the abundance of wildlife. This is one area of very small communities and back woods cabins. There is so much for the experienced hiker and survivalist. One need not look far to find rougher life. Just step into these woods.

We visited several parts of the Tongass National forest during our adventure in Alaska. We stopped at the slide cemetery near Dyea, took a hike along the Chilkoot trail, and had a float trip down the Taiya River. Unfortunately, we were not able to take the original trail due to bridges having been washed out during spring flooding. What was supposed to be a strenuous hike turned into a pleasant stroll, but I'm not complaining... too much. The history of the slide was fascinating and devastating, and the area around Skagway is beautiful. I don't know what it was about the air in Alaska, but everything just smelled so clean. It was wonderful.

We sailed through the Tongass National Rain Forest and the scenery was unbelievable. This is one of the world’s largest rainforest with magnificent mountains and cascades. A truly beautiful landscape and one we will always remember.

A smallish state park. The main attraction is the totems. I recommend coming on a tour so you can understand all the history and stories!
