Utter garbage and they know they can bend us over the barrel because they are the only show in town. Avoid this place if possible. Not worth the hassle if an urgent care or after hours can do it for you.

My son had to be taken here for a hard fall where he hit his mouth and we needed to make sure he was okay and didn't need stitches. We checked in on a Monday in the late afternoon and waited over 6 hours for any help/anything. My son fell asleep at one point and slept on me because he was so exhausted from everything and we continued to sit in the hot waiting room (because of too many windows which is also a safety concern but also causes the whole room to get too hot in the summer months) and wait. Babies and kids crying nonstop and that alone will mess with your mind because it's heartbreaking and my son just had to sit there and wait. It was miserable waiting that long with a hurting child who was actively bleeding from his mouth. I do understand there are kids in more need than mine, but 6+ hours? I forget how long we waited. Once we were finally called back, the nurse and doctor were kind. There were 2 doctors or maybe a doctor and a PA, plus the attending nurse for that room. We were in the room roughly 45 minutes. No stitches needed, all they did was ask US his parents to hold him down to apply a numbing medicine that stopped the bleeding. I would do it all over again to make sure my son was okay, however, they billed our insurance $1500.00 for the most basic care. They came in, barely looked at my son and said he's all good. They were kind and helpful, so was the nurse, I'm grateful for them, but this hospital is robbing people blind in their most vulnerable moments. It's despicable and makes me angry. A little girl was there for the same reason my son was and had been there waiting for so many hours. She was starving and couldn't eat with dried blood all over her little mouth. Same for my son. This IS NOT good care. It's wrong. Take your child here if they need emergency care, you'll likely receive good care. But be aware, you'll wait way too long and be billed the most ridiculous charges that you'll have to pay. It's a travesty what this hospital is doing charging families what they are. Truly disgusting!

Waited for 2-3 hours in the er with my sick 1 year old who was so weak she couldnā€™t stay awake. Hot to the room and waited more. Donā€™t bother asking for anything if they ask you you wonā€™t get it. On a busy night they only have 1 admit nurse working so itā€™s line up out the doors. Got admitted to upstairs and the room is awful. So dusty and unclean everywhere.told a nurse about it and they just said sorry. No one cares if your kid ate but the sure want those vitals. Even though your kid is screaming.I donā€™t ever want to take my kids back. Place looks like it never gets cleaned anywhere.

This hospital is AMAZING! We have been here for 3 days going on 4 with our daughter. The team of doctors they have on staff are incredible! The nurses have catered to our every need! The things they have to offer the children to make their stay more pleasant is just amazing. From movies, books, toys, activities, a courtyard where they can feel safe and get some sunshine, all the food and snacks you can imagineā€¦I have not one complaint! The nurses have gone out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at ease with every form of treatment they have given her. We are so blessed to have a hospital like this nearby. If you ever get the chance to donate to this hospitalā€¦please do! Itā€™s a great thing that they have going here and our hats are off to all of the staff that works so tirelessly and selflessly to make sure our children are getting the absolute best care! Thank you ETCH for everything you have done for us!

My low rating is based on the ER staff only. They are extremely rude and not in any hurry. As if anyone WANTS to be in the ER with their child,I do know they have a hard job but they literally do not even try to help you. The staff on 2 west were amazing and Dr.Jensen did my daughters surgery and he was good. This ER needs to be fixed immediately, this is the only children's hospital in the area and they need to step it up!

Took son to children's clinic on Emory where we were referred to the hospital. Took him in with papers stating he was severely dehydrated and need fluid asap, waited 4 hours and everyone that came in after us went back before us. I asked the nurse about our wait time she said there was 6 people in front of us and all new people in the lobby after 4 HOURS??? I told them we were going to take him to a different hospital and they wrote down that he had worsening condition even though they had never seen him. Me and my wife did more for him in the waiting room than the hospital did after 4 hours of being there. I asked for a blanket for my son and they said "give them a few minutes" 2 hours later ER still no blanket. Nurse was extremely stuck up and rude. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN THERE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND CARE MORE ABOUT People WEARING A MASK RATHER THAN HELPING CHILDREN.

Just took my grandson here as he had some chest pain at school and threw up. We were taken back to a room fairly quickly but once there a nurse came in 1x to check his vitals. They had him plugged into a machine to monitor his respiratory and his heart rate. We called for nurse as he had to go to the bathroom. No one came. We unplugged him and no one still showed up. We left. 6hrs...

This place is a joke. My daughter has pneumonia pretty bad after having covid. She's been to her Dr everyday this week trying different antibiotics along with breathing treatments. She didn't improve, only got worse. Today her doctor said there was nothing else they could do that she needed to be admitted. They called the hospital to let them know. We get there. They said it wasn't a direct admittance we would have to go through triage and see what they say. We waited for two hours whole my daughter was sitting there coughing so bad and having issues breathing. When we got called back the nurse said that her lungs were clear and sounded good. After 2 doctors have to told me all week including today how bad they sound..and you could literally feel it through her chest. She then said she couldn't justify putting her in a room.. she said we would probably be waiting another two hours before we got called back. She said that if she had issues breathing again to tell the front desk and they would look at her and see if she needed to go back into a room. So even though her lungs have been full of fluid and sounding horrible all week it was able to just disappear in a couple of hours. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

The ER is atrocious, especially if you have a neurodivergent child. They will give you a sticker to indicate you're "a little different", but then you still sit and wait in an overstimulating environment for 6 hours waiting for a room (just so you can wait some more). When our child couldn't take it anymore, we decided to leave. The nurse then had the audacity to ask us to stay saying "it was a better day than usual" as they normally have "an 8-10 hour wait" instead of the 5-6 hour one" they were seeing today. The hospital needs to do better for our children - it's not fair to put them through the pain of waiting to be seen on top of being sick. Do better!

We were visiting east TN all the way from SC for a mountain getaway and ended up in the hospital for our 4yr old due to severe dehydration following a respiratory/GI bug. We were robbed of our mountain hiking experiences BUT, let me tell you.... if you have the poor unfortunate luck of ending up in a hospital on your vacation, let it be ETCH. They took the BEST care of me and my daughter. The nurses and techs were attentive, super smart, comforting, and efficient with their care. The doctors were absolutely amazing and spent plenty of time with us. They made sure we had all of our questions answered and they delivered appropriate care. My daughter was night and day difference by the next morning. They truly, truly care. That is rare these days. So while we had to miss our trip, we had an amazing experience at this hospital. We were out of town in an unfamiliar town, and they put us right at ease. Highly recommend. 100/100

If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. Spent over 4 hours waiting and never was seen. Ended up leaving to take my son somewhere else. Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. Dehydration and canā€™t keep even sips of water down. Apparently that is not an emergent thing. Sat there for 4 plus hours with my son dry heaving and vomiting in the waiting room, in pain, and nothing. Didnā€™t even re-check on him at all in 4 hours. I will never go there again, and I would recommend if your child is sick, go somewhere else so you can actually get care for your child. Staff was not friendly and walked around like they hated their jobs. Iā€™m pretty disgusted with their ER, and mind you, I worked in an ER for years. Absolutely horrible.

Sat in the waiting room for over 2hrs with my 2 and half month old daughter and there were a lot of sick kids coughing all in mine and my daughters general direction and then had to wait 2 and a half hours to see the doctor for maybe a 5 minute chat? This used to be one of the best hospitals but I don't feel like it is anymore... my daughters immune system could be compromised because of being around sick kids. Thanks.

My son was transportation to Children's via ambulance with a compound fracture. Upon arriving at the ER the nurses could not locate the attending ER Doctor. Now I was in the ambulance with my son and I saw and heard the EMT report that my son had an obvious compound fracture. You would think the doctor would be waiting for my son, who was is sever pain. After several minutes of waiting I left my son's room and went to the nurses station. I was told "we are trying to find the Doctor ". Ten minutes later while my son was still screaming in pain I went back to the nurses station and asked again. This time I was told we are still looking for the doctor ". I ask how this could happen and several nurses finally started to help my son. At the 33 minute mark the doctor finally came in to help my son and get pain medication on board. I have been a first responder for 20 years and have never seen anything like this happen before. Now its been 23 hours since the accident and he is finally getting ready to go into surgery to get the bones set, which will relieve a great deal of his pain? The surgery should have been done last night. You would think they would have wanted to to relieve his pain faster. I am more than disappointed by the medical care. Dont get me wrong the nurses have been fantastic on the 4th floor. We could not have asked for anything more from them they are more then wonderful.

They keep letting people ahead of us and have been waiting over 2 hours and the front desk just gives you lip service so she can keep chatting with her friend. Very frustrating when I have an infant at home waiting for me and a child with broken arm waiting with me but I guess hospitals are just about the money now a days with all they bills they want to send you! I canā€™t wait till we start having more health hubs and clinics and make hospitals ER a thing of the past.

Not impressed. Waited 7 hour in ER for an out of network nurse practitioner, not even a doctor, to put an eye drop in my son's eye and tell me he has a scratch on his eyelid and needs antibiotic drops. They would not even give him the antibiotic drop at the hospital and sent the prescription to a pharmacy (at 4 o'clock in the morning). The bill: $700 even with one of the best insurances. When you go to an in network hospital, you expect in network doctors. The nurse they sent was out of network and we were not even notified. The bill was unjustifiably large for the care received. Just disappointed with how things were handled.

Horrible service and uncaring, insensitive care for my granddaughter at the radiology clinic. At 2.5 months old she should not be treated so poorly for an outpatient procedure.

We took our 1 yr 6 month old here with a fever of 102.6. Sat there for 5 hours before being put in a room. (Not to mention that his fever had broken by the time they saw us). Sat there for another hour before we asked where the Dr was and she pretty much didn't know. A couple mins later she comes in and does a flu and strep test but says they'll call if the strep is positive. She didn't even mention RSV to us. We take him to his PCP the next day, he has freaking RSV. And a hospital that is FOR KIDS didn't even think to check for a virus that can kill a kid. I won't ever go back there unless I have no choice.

We have drove 2 hours one way to get to this hospital with a sick child running a fever we have been sitting in this waiting room for over 4 hours and they have called several people before us whose child was not as sick as my little boy and I know this because we talked to these people. I passed up several hospitals to get here and could have went to Lexington or other places, but I thought this would be the best place. We are still sitting here in the waiting room! Not seen a dr it is now 8:00pm and we have to drive 2 hours home. Very hurt and disappointed.

No care and no ethics from the front desk staff! Each visit cost $300-$600 so you would think some training for the front desk staff is feasible??? I wish we had another option in Knoxville for urgent care!

This is my favorite hospital. I grew up seeing many doctors here and now I take my son when need be. Just like any ER, it can be slow, but the nurses are very friendly and helpful! People should take into consideration that there are very sick children that have needs that exceed the typical cough, congestion, and runny nose. The ER is for emergencies, not a visit because your doctors office didnā€™t have anything available. Once this gets straightened out, and children start attending Urgent Care instead, the hospital will have less of a wait time and be able to tend to kids in a quicker manner. Aside from that, your children will be in great hands at this hospital!

Amazing place. The staff is always super friendly and make you feel at ease regardless of it being a small doctor visit or you're there for surgery. They're quick to answer any questions or concerns you may have about procedures or just the overall care of your child. I adore this hospital.

If only waiting half a day fixed everyone. Weā€™d all be fine. But it doesnā€™t. Thereā€™s obviously a huge problem with our hospitals and staffing at these hospitals. This is my 3rd time being at childrenā€™s and all three times Iā€™ve waited for at least 6 hours. Thereā€™s no direction. No sense of care and the only excuse I hear is that they are short staffed. Im sorry but thatā€™s none of our problems. We all deserve better. And a simple apology wonā€™t fix the many hours I spent and other spend wasting away in these waiting rooms and in the patient rooms. In the waiting room a woman once told me about her grandson and how he was sitting in a room with an extremely painful hernia for 7 hours before they finally ordered an ultrasound. If youā€™re that short staffed you need to be shut down completely. Poor on hospitals. Poor on Tennessee.

I have a quarter size external hemorrhoid, extremely painful. I arrived at 11:45pm and didnā€™t get put in a room until 2:30am. Waited until 3:30... still no one. I signed the paperwork to leave, and left. Donā€™t go here unless you absolutely have to. You will be here for hours upon hours. I left in pain, no meds, nothing. So now I have to miss a day of work just to be somewhere else.

While I am not a patient here now, I once was during my youth. I don't think anybody has fond memories at a hospital unless it's a day when the patients get great news. However, I do have one tender memory. Years ago, I was scheduled to have a colonoscopy on my 12th birthday. The nurses and other staff were wonderful and surprised me that morning with a bag full of gift shop goodies since my birthday was spent at the hospital! I'm pretty sure they spent their own money on everything! I still have the small tote bag and everything inside of it, and it's been almost seven years! The nurses here make it better if you have a child going through a tough time. However, the medical doctors here can be a bit frigid and could probably use a course in hospitality. Although I understand they are dealing with sick kids all day, it must be hard to be warmhearted in that environment. Honestly, the only bad experience had with any of the staff was with a doctor, but I have forgiven him and hope he was just in bad spirits the day I saw him. Thank you to all the wonderful staff here for caring for me when I was a kid.

My 5year old daughter has the flu, but started having difficulty breathing and sounded like she had croup, so I took her to a local urgent care to see if she needed a breathing treatment and/or steroids & while waiting there her fever spiked to 105, so they sent us to East Tennessee Childrenā€™s Hospital. They said they would call ahead & let them know the situation. We got to East Tennessee Childrenā€™s Hospital at approximately 7pm & they seemed unconcerned that her temperature was 105 & didnā€™t even check her temperature when we got there. Then, we had to wait hours to even go back for triage. While in triage they gave her zofran because she was vomiting mucus, but the vomiting wasnā€™t even my concern ā€” we originally went in for difficulty breathing and then she had 105 temperature. We were sent back to the waiting room, where we waited until approximately 2am to finally be called back to a room. The doctor then comes in and says the urgent care said they gave her a breathing treatment already & I immediately corrected her & said no the urgent care did nothing but give her Tylenol & ice packs & send us here to East Tennessee Childrenā€™s Hospital. She then looks at my mom, who was with us, like I was lying. My mom said exactly what I said. Then she asks if maybe we left the room and they did a breathing treatment while we were out of the room. I said no absolutely not I wouldnā€™t leave my 5 year old with a 105 temperature alone, especially not long enough for a breathing treatment. So she proceeds to tell me they would give my daughter a steroid, IV fluids, more zofran, & a chest X-ray. She also said my daughter would need to pee before we could leave since it had been almost 24 hours since she last peed. We finally get discharged around 5:30am & I realize they never did the steroid they said they were going to give her. I asked about it & never really got a clear answer. I had been awake over 24 hours at this point & we were just ready to go home, so we left. I called the local urgent care today that we went to last night & asked why they told the ER they gave her a breathing treatment when they never did & she said they tried calling the ER twice & never got an answer, so they didnā€™t actually speak to anyone or send anything. Iā€™m not sure who is lying, but I do not appreciate being lied to by anyone. I tried contacting the ā€œpatient experience personā€ that they respond to these reviews & tell people to call, but I got no answer & had to leave a voicemail. Hopefully this discrepancy can be cleared up.

Took our 6 month old in to make sure he wasn't dehydrated. They ended up giving him Motrin. His age he's only supposed to have 2ml. They gave him 9ml. They then proceeded to only tell my wife. When they sent the information over to primary care. They mysteriously excluded the fact the over dosed a baby. Be extremely careful with any hospital you choose. Trust your gut if something doesn't seem right tell them no. They do not have authority over you like they like to pretend.

My wife and I took our 2 year old to the ER last night for persisting vomiting resulting in dehydration. He has had the virus over 48 hours and needed IV fluids. We saw Dr Strickland and weā€™re not impressed with the bedside manner given. Due to him being sick multiple days and going 2 days without eating my wife raised concerns to the dr about his weight, given that heā€™s already on the slim side. Not only did Dr Strickland not answer her question but also told her thatā€™s his pediatricians concern not hers. I want to be clear by stating, when a child is in another doctorsā€™ care aside from his PCP, it IS your concern and answering the parents of the patientā€™s questions is required. My wifeā€™s concerns were minimized and she was already panicked. Additionally Dr Strickland advised they did a chemistry panel on our son. We are not stupid but we also didnā€™t go to medical school. My wife asked what that means and entails and the doctor responded ā€œit means we did a chemistry panelā€. So therefore another concern, another question was unanswered and we left wondering. She also advised the chemistry panel was ā€œnot badā€ so we were left wondering if it was okay or if that possibly meant that it was not good either? When we already donā€™t know what that means and didnā€™t have it explained. Nonetheless, our son did receive the fluids he desperately needed and seems to be on the mend today. I also want to be clear by stating, we love childrenā€™s hospital and my wife spent a lot of time here as a child and we have had great experiences with our son there in the past. This occurrence was off putting and not usual for here. We have never felt like our concerns were belittled and we have never had a negative experience until now. Bedside manor in this case was awful, and when you have concerned/scared parents - the least you can do is answer their questions..

My son broke a bone near his elbow while we were vacation and we are originally from Alabama so our experience here was incredible. We waited less than 5 minutes, we had a X-ray in less than 10 mins and got our results within 30 mins tops. We were out of there not even two hours later. We just had a wonderful experience with the ER and Dr. Ryker is extremely personable and has a wonderful bedside manner. The nurses were also great and so was the x-ray tech, I can not say enough wonderful things about this hospital.

My son had an emergency appendectomy at ETCH. Everyone we encountered was kind, helpful and went above and beyond any expectation we had. The care they have for children is amazing-the hospital is so geared for childrenā€™s care and everyone seems and is so dedicated to making sure your kid gets better. We are forever grateful and fortunate to have this hospital in East TN

We are currently on our fifth day or so, North Building, under the care of second floor staff. The nurses and staff, ALL of them, are AMAZING. Coming from out of town and ending in a hospital ER with my nephew , and then an operating room, is an experience to drive anyone insane. However, this place has the most understanding, caring and amazing staff. Their level of concern is beyond my comprehension, and for that my family will be endlessly grateful.

The ER department was fantastic with my daughter. I really want to thank Dr. Pappano you went above and beyond trying to explain what could possibly be going on with my daughter's stomach issues. Very professional and understanding! I also want to thank the RN that day even though I didn't catch your name just know you were fabulous with my daughter! & I also want to thank Macy on night shift! You all deserve more then 5* in my book!

Hated it. My tiny little baby was very sick and we waited a very long time in the lobby when there were only two other people waiting. Then we waited for another 45 minutes or more for a doctor to come in, then another hour or so for nurses to come clean out my baby's sinuses to help him breathe. We could both see and hear all the doctors and nurses sitting at their desks just chatting. My baby was only a couple months old and was crying and screaming almost non-stop because he was so miserable and everyone took their time getting to us because they were too busy gossiping about different patients they'd recently seen. If there is ever a better option, I would not recommend going here!

We were just there with our granddaughter who was admitted. I just have to say Floor 4 nurses and staff were amazing. Our nurses was Ashley(pm) and Elaine(am) and they were so amazing. Iā€™ve got to say itā€™s been along time since Iā€™ve been at Childrenā€™s but I just honestly have to say the whole 4th floor staff very caring, always helpful. Without nurses and the staff the hospital wouldnā€™t run. Keep up your great work and THANK you for taking such great care of my granddaughter. God Bless you all

We drove here from Gatlinburg while on vacation. We tried to go to Leconte in Sevierville but the ER was packed. It was recommended we make the drive to Knoxville. Our experience was well above expectations. Jen Riley in the ER was particularly amazing with our son and his smashed finger. She was very gentle and explained everything to him in detail so he was at ease while she cared for him.

My son was transferred to ETCH from Bristol. We were in ICU for a week before he had surgery. After the surgery he recovered very quickly and we were able to step down to another room for a few weeks. The entire time we were there we always felt like everyone there loved their job. Every doctor was very thorough when explaining things (he saw probably 5 doctors total but at least one per day), the nutritionist helped him gain back part of the 10 pounds he had lost, physical therapy was very knowledgeable and even helped him practice things he could use to get back into sports, the nurses were always attentive. Dr Savage did his brain surgery and even did it in a way that she didn't have to shave all of his hair, you couldn't even tell it was there and it goes almost ear to ear on top of his head. When we returned for a follow up the infectious disease doctor removed his picc line so quickly and kept him engaged in conversation so that he didn't even notice it was being removed. The hospital was clean. The cafeteria food wasn't bad. Seriously cannot say enough good things about the hospital and staff. I am so glad we were sent to this hospital.

This is the place to go if you wanna be a nurses practice dummy. I was stuck 3 times by somebody who was scared of needles. Why have somebody like that working that job?? The doctors will not help you and will discharge you even when you feel like ur dying. They truly do not care about anybody. I came in an ambulance and was sat to wait in the lobby for hours. The last experience was great but the doctors that were here this time are awful. Lazy! Wouldnā€™t even do new blood work, they used my blood work from the last time and said I was good.

I took my 5 year old daughter there and she was really afraid to go because she thought they would give her shots or hurt her. I tried to reason with her, but what helped the most was the staff. From the moment we got there, they treated her so good. The nurse at the front desk was so nice and had us in a room in NO time and the waiting area was clean and had cartoons playing. There was a guard at the desk and he was even super nice! Everyone answered my daughter when she talked to them. They made her laugh and smile and made sure she understood what they were doing and why. And they were super fast! The doctor who came in even went and got her a popsicle and told her how great she did. And her nurse was so sweet. She had toys on her badge that my daughter loved and when we were done she brought my daughter a ton of stickers. Our room was very clean and comfortable (it looked new!) and the nurse put cartoons on the TV and gave my daughter the remote and showed her how to call for a nurse with the button. The nurses and doctor kept me updated on what they were doing or waiting on and kept checking on us. They got us out of there so fast and apologized for the wait. They sent her prescription to our preferred pharmacy and we had no trouble picking it up. Also I had to call them with a question and I expected it to take forever for a call back but they returned my call so quick and were so sweet. It was so nice to see that they genuinely care about kids. They really exceeded our expectations and we appreciate them so much! I just can't say enough about how easy this visit was! I wish our whole family could go there! I went there when I was a kid and I loved it. So I'm glad to see that ETCH is still the best!

I brought my son here for a cough and fever that lasted 6 days. From the moment we walked through the door we had nothing short of a great experience. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and ended up needing to be admitted. Dr. Dante Pappano was fantastic and thorough and answered all of my questions. He made me feel heard which is important as a parent. My son is a very hard stick, particularly while dehydrated. Nurse Lauren came in and was able to get an IV on the first try and my son barely cried. This is a miracle. Our primary nurse, Heather, and nurse Leah both made sure we were cared for and checked on us often. They heard my concerns and addressed them appropriately. I never felt dismissed by any of the staff. We will definitely return and recommend ETCH to anyone and everyone.

Simply put the ER at children's is terrible. As an RN for 15 years most of my experience has been ER and surgery. We took my 11yo son in for a possible spinal cord injury from a baseball game where he also was evaluated on scene by a NP from children's and myself. After waiting outside the door for almost 10min and multiple employees looking at us they finally let the ems crew come in and was promptly sent to the lobby. The triage nurse asks my son with an INT in place and pain medications on board if he could get up and sit in a chair. I don't claim to be an expert but being very familiar with the triage system from level 1 through rural ER's an 11yo with a traumatic injury to the mid back, right foot numbness, and inability to move the right leg does not sit in the lobby. After the paramedic and myself were on the verge of a meltdown we were placed in a room where the Dr finally showed up 2.5hrs later. So in total we spent 6 hrs to get a CT scan when there was obviously enough staff to sit at the desks and talk.

4.5 hrs later with my son running a fever at 104.8 in Children's hospital waiting room. We finally got a room in the ER to wait another 2 hrs.... seen no dr/ nurse... didn't even get evaluated or checked on. I had to be obnoxious to get them to recheck his temp amd when to the nurse desk 2 times just to get tylenol.....some people have been there for 12 hrs and still hasn't seen a dr... this is ridiculous.... I know they are busy but if you can't see these kids.. just say we can't take anymore. This isn't fair to the kids to feel so terrible and just have to come back home without care.

This is the best childrenā€™s hospital there is. Theyā€™re beyond friendly , and would do anything for a patient. I have cystic fibrosis and diabetes, and they have done everything they could to help me along the way. ā¤ļø

I brought my 2 year old to this hospital over dehydrated and stomach bug and not only have we been here for 2 days it's out first time coming and I can say this hospital has been very nice to us, we live almost 2hrs away and where its covid19 and only 1 person aloud in room with patient the helped us get a hotel so one of us didn't have to sleep in the car whitch was amazing we appreciate this hospital they have made Layla feel like home here and they always made a right choice of when to take her of iv and when to send her home they didnt try and rush her out of here. Thank you to everyone at this hospital for helping and giving my little girl toys and a way to feel better

My little family and I are so grateful for this hospital and the wonderful people who have helped us. Dr. Wicker in the ER, was fantastic. (Someone tell him people DO Leave good reviews.) Dr. Hamm, the genealogist, was extremely nice. And our neurologist Dr. Kosinka treats our little dude like heā€™s part of her family. Also, every nurse, NP, and Tech that helped us was so nice and helpful. Thank you all again for everything.

If you ever call records and ask for something they are unbelievably rude . They also are very lazy and dont want to do their job ! I have a court case in the morning and need hospital records and I got ahold of them at 2pm today . It is now 430pm and they have closed for the rest of the day . I already sent in my consent form for release but the lady didnt finish and send me my stuff .

My son was recently admitted here and I cannot say enough good things about every single person we came into contact with! Everyone was so kind, and made my son feel comfortable. Dr. Costello, Laura and Sunshine in the ER were amazing, even when I was full of tears and scared to death. Once he got to the floor his nurses and aides were just as awesome. I could never ever thank you all enough for helping me and my son through such a stressful time.

Over the past 18 years my kiddos have had many surgeries and procedures here. Including last night's appendectomy performed by Dr. Glaze Vaughn who was outstanding along with every nurse and staff we encountered. Thank you Children's for holding up the bar!

My son was transferred here in the middle of the night by ambulance. Immediately following his arrival, the medical staff started taking care of him and got him prepped for emergency surgery. Everyone was so nice, attentive and diligent. I've never been to a better hospital and I would definitely recommend this one for your kids. Thank you to all of the staff for taking care of my son and being so kind to us both.

Arrived around 11pm and the waiting room was beyond packed full of families with multiple kidā€™s needing to be seen. The staff and Drā€™s were doing their best to get everyone seen in a timely manner considering the circumstances.

We had the best experience at this hospital. We had to take our child because of an emergency situation, and everyone was so wonderful. From the woman at the front desk to the nurses and techs to the doctor, everyone was kind and caring. We were seen very quickly and everything was explained to us in a way my child could understand. It was really nice to have people who know and understand how to work with young children. I really canā€™t recommend this hospital enough if you have a medical emergency and need help for your child.

The staff were great BUT (and this is a huge BUT), my family and I were treated very unfairly by the NICU care social workers. Our daughter was there for about a week and we weren't introduced to these people at all until they walked in on our daughters discharge day with Department of children services. One of the women introduced the two from DCS and said that because the NICU wasnt able to confirm that I had a prescription for a certain medication that I was taking, that warranted a call to DCS. (Nevermind that it was all over my records from fortsanders and my obgyn that I had been on the med for 16 years. Nevermind that nobody in the NICU even asked me about it or gave me a chance to provide proof, which, I could have easily and quickly have done right then and there.) Eventhough our DCS case was not founded and dismissed right when it began and we were cleared to take our daughter home that day, it still made me feel like a piece of trash and we know have it on record that DCS was called on us. Make sure you always take your med list and wave it in their face until they see it so you wont have a knock at your baby's room!

My daughter was taken there by the ambulance for an overdose, and they took her in and put her on an IV and just left her. About an hour or so later some one comes in, and they didn't even know she overdosed šŸ¤¦ They didn't seem to care, and we're just overall lazy. Don't go to this hospital unless absolutely necessary šŸ¤¦

Best place for kids hands down. They really take their time and try to understand the kids point of view and not just be the adult that said so. We love it!!

Waiting room full, was told flu and rsv going. They truly need a waiting area for injury and one for illness. Waited over two hours in lobby to be called back, then over an hour in the room. Had one to come in and ask if we had been seen, told her no as she was given information, then told doctor should be in soon. Soon was not "soon". They need more doctors to see those at the ER. All the sickness, people going and coming, and no type of cleaning taking place. One came in to check vitals and still no doctor.

Best place in the state for children to receive care. Saying this as a parent whoā€™s children received care here and as a former employee.

  • 1/5 Kristin N. 4 years ago on Google
They used to be great but now, if you have a sick child and have to make payments on 'multiple accounts' (they make an account for each visit), they wont let you. My daughter is 7 and I've made payments on her accounts for 7 years. Suddenly they are changing things. Not allowing accounts over 4 years old (even if making payments) and sending parents to collections over it (without notice)! Such a disgrace. We wont step foot inside childrens hospital again. Just awful.

Wait 4 hours just to see a nurse/Doctor is beyond ridiculous... We're talking small children here, not grown adults that can tell you what's wrong, how much pain they are in or how sick they feel... Exactly how close to death does a child need to be to get to see someone in a reasonable amount of time... Never, under any circumstances should any child wait 4 hours to see a medical professional... Get your act together ETCH your patient's should get the fastest and best care available period and 4 hours doesn't come close to being slow much less fast...

If I could give less then one star I would. This place is a absolute joke. My daughter has been here multiple times for stomach issues yet they donā€™t care because the labs are normal. Iā€™m sorry but a 9 Month old not eating but only six ounces a day is not normal. They donā€™t care and they donā€™t listen to what you have to say this place is ridiculous will not be going back.

My son was admitted and spent 9 days in this hospital. The staff was beyond words. We spent Christmas, new years, Christmas Eve and they did there absolute best too make sure he got too enjoy the holidays. They were so gentle and so well trained. Every question I had was answered with certainty and if they did not know they found the answer QUICKLY! If I asked for anything they did not get irritated they were helpful with smiles on there face. Truly for someone who hates hospitals I have 0 complaints. I'm just a loss for words with how great this hospital truly is.

I am writing this review to say: DO NOT GET BREAST REDUCTIONS HERE! I got my surgery 10 MONTHS AGO and I am STILL not healed. Although this is not their fault, they did nothing in the 27 visits. No blood work. No medicine. Took 5 minutes looked at my wounds and said "keep doing what your doing." This went on for months before they referred me to a dermatologist. Surprise, they did nothing either. I ended up going to my primary care and they did more than Children's Hospital ever did in ONE DAY. Antibiotics, cream, and special wash. FINALLY my unhealed wounds closed up after 8 months. Thennnn....opened back up again. I have had numerous hospital visits, staph infections, etc.. What gets me is that I had taken a visit to my primary care to see if my wounds were infected. The next day I went to children's again to see my surgeon. He said it looked perfectly fine and to keep doing what i was doing. Next day i got a call saying a had a staph infection. My surgeon didnt take the time to look thoroughly........I appreciate you giving me this surgery, but this whole healing experience has made me wish I never got this surgery in the first place. I am now going to rheumatology......Other than this inconvenience, staff is wonderful and very helpful. (except for the breast surgeon and I wont be pointing fingers........)

Worse experience ever If my kids ever need admitted somewhere I refuse to stay here! The 2nd floor room we was put in was absolutely disgusting there was nasty gauze with blood and other stuff in the chair in there the bathroom was nasty the tub had hair all over it and the toilet was nasty we had to clean it before sitting on it they definitely donā€™t clean at all the trash was running over and no one came to change it never offered food or anything told if Iā€™m not breastfeeding they canā€™t feed us so many people bothering my newborn every two seconds to do the same things made us stay for two days to be told absolutely nothing! It was just awful only one nurse was actually goodā€¦
