Ineffective way of conducting business and providing services. Please, return to semi-normal operations by allowing for walk-ins. Sudden call drops, phone line consistently busy, conflicting online instructions, unable to make an appointment online and so on demonstrates ineffective government services. Be better!

This place is terrible. Not only is it the longest wait I've ever experienced but they have the rudest staff I have ever encountered, especially the guy... while I waited I heard multiple people say how rude he was, then I got to experience it first hand.To that guy who "served" me,I hope someday you and your family gets treated the same way you treat others. It almost seems like they take pleasure in giving you the run around. go somewhere else

If I could give this office a 0 I would. Turned in paperwork they made me file for with the VA which I knew would be denied but ok I did and once I received the denial, I promptly when there and turned it in, that was in 2015. In 2018 I received a late notice as I do from them late every year that I still hadn't sent the paperwork. BTW, the 1st letter this lady sent to an old address. They had the nerve to tell me that my disability check would be stoped if I didn't comply within 30 days. They lost the paperwork bit their god-like attitudes are a dis-service to anyone disabled and will try my hardest to change locations because the folks in this office Suck...

Unbelievably slow and INEFFICIENT process. What a horrible experience…even worse their waiting area smelled like URINE, SWEAT, cigarette smoke INSIDE?? HOW? It’s not worth it. The employees don’t care about being quick. I’m confused are they short staffed?? They work very slow and call people every 30 min to an HOUR per window per person. Avoid at all costs, unless you want to sit in a smelly environment for hours.

So I was worried I would need my ID/DL and birth certificate to get my SSCard replacement because that’s what the website says but no, I simply went in with my DL and answered a few questions and boom got a receipt that my Replacement SS Card is in the mail and will arrive in 2 weeks, took me about 1 hour and cost me nothing and parking under the building cost $6 an hour but be prepared to pay $12 for underground quick parking, I went at about 10am on a Friday! Berry happy 😸

I hate how the automated voice mail system said doing it online is the fastest and easiest way when it not......putting your personal Identification info (PII) on the internet or even mailing it not knowing if it actually is getting to the correct person I just a small step on how people get their Identity stolen. I respectful request more people to work at the work to answer questions.

Place is a joke. I watched one number called in a hour! Employees shutting down windows to get something to drink. Don’t waste you time. Government employees who don’t work hard at all. I seen a employee with her hand on her chin bored out of her mind and the place was packed.

They are trying. This place is 100% easier to deal with than the welfare office. Mr Koppy was efficient and kind to us today. On a side note, why is the door wide open with the AC fully functioning? It feels so nice inside, but not for long if that door stays open. Why is Homeland Security circling this building?

March 22 2:36 p.m, my mom requested documents of her current award letter. The operator guy was angry and abrupt, and told to call a different number which didn't work. Before and after this office provides the necessary paperwork, this was the only case it didn't. Other social security numbers tell us to call this office.

Needed a replacement social security card. Arrived at the Social Security Department downtown San Diego at 1:44 pm on a Wednesday. Was a breeze parking. There was plenty of open seating and only 3 people ahead of me after signing in. Waited only 20 minutes for my number to be called. Only took 10 minutes at the window to complete process to request a duplicate social security card. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient. It took less than 40 minutes from parking to signing in at office to completion and walking out the door back to our car.

Went in to apply for a first time social security card. Arrived at 9 am on a relatively “busy” Friday according to the security guard. Was done by 10 am. Fast efficient service. Received my social security card in the mail 5 days later.

Just based off the worker that so called tried helping me was horrible! I walked up to the window and he completely acted as if I did something wrong to him! He asked me a question I went to answer and because I didn’t say what he wanted to hear I guess he kept cutting me off! He wouldn’t even let me speak! Then proceeded to ask me for my ids and when I gave him my military I d he asked me was that even me! Then asked me for another id. Over all he was trying to belittle me the entire time I sat there with him. It was a horrible experience for me. All I was trying to do was get my new born social which I never received in the mail. He also told me I needed another form of id for my two month old baby in order for me to apply for a replacement social that I never got! I believe the man was giving me a hard time for w.e reason but I will never go back to that office!

I think the staff did the best they could under the terrible circumstances, always massive issues with my identification everywhere I go. Also different offices tell people different things and do things inconsistently, I feel we are setup to fail.

Twice now I’ve had to call the office because they still haven’t sent me a form I need to fill out for my son’s disability. I had my phone interview almost two months ago. The guy who talked to me on the phone though was attentive and prompt.

I moved from georgia to California, in georgia I was getting a ssi check and a ssdi check which equaled about $750 a month, but when I tried to change my adress at this office in California they only gave me my ssi check and it was way less and they never gave me my ssdi check, for no reason other than they were trying to steal it and hoped I wouldent notice, they always try to take advantage of the disabled and steal our money, oh and I had to go up there to the office like 5 times just to change my adress because they would lie and say my adress would update in a few days but it never did, they are all incompetent lying theives that waste your time, leave california immediately it will drive you bonkers, anywhere is better that place, total nightmare, but they will get karma for what they put me through

The first time I was here the wait was for 2 hours on a wednesday morning. We were told our medical paper work needed, was incorrect by a women than worked there. She was friendly. Today I arrived, it was Thursday around 12, there was a 5 minute wait. But I had a man helping me. He was incredibly rude, insulting, and disrespectful. I'm assuming he deals with lying and cruel people all day. Because he was very curt with me. He thought I was lying on several occasions. He talked to me like I was stupid, and purposely not doing what I was suppose to do. Now I really did, EVERYTHING I was told, I was given false information (according to him) by the dmv and the post office. Unfortunately I was told by those two places I could not get my 18 month old an ID because he had no ssn. Well when I couldnt privide my sons ID, he said there was no reason I shouldn't have one, and was lying. I wish I was! I didn't want to drive all around to get the run around. I had to drive to two dmvs, the post office, and gave up on the passport and ID. I went to our pediatrician in Murrieta to get his medical forms. The staff filled them out wrong several times. I kept reviewing them, and finally got one that was correct. The man at the ssn office, did not like how she scratched my son's name out and re wrote it. So I almost wasted another day. He reluctantly accepted my paper work. So I am grateful for that. But I hated how I was treated. The government offices really need to communicate better on what the rules are. I'm still unsure if the dmv was wrong or the ssn office was. I don't think I'll ever know. Atleast it's over with...for now.

I am in and out of there in less than an hour even without an appointment....When I do have an appoinymtmentment, its even faster!....I watch people who go in and I eavesdrop on their conversations with the workers...Many times the customer comes without their paperwork or identification (Some people don't have anything as they are homeless)....And then they're mad at the worker?! Hello! *Identity theft*....Workers are just doing their jobs!...My last worker went over and beyond for me...I even thanked him for all the help he gave me as I was there to tell SSDI that I had gotten a part time job, I didn't want to lose my SSDI disability benefits. The worker explained in plan English how it works, and that "No, my benefits will not be taken away....He even printed out a letter for me to show that he was not just playing "who shot john"...Excellent worker!

People who work here are extremely slow and irresponsible. We have jobs and obligations too. People shouldn't have to wait 4 hours for something as simple as updating their status or getting a replacement card.

  • 1/5 Shane T. 6 months ago on Google
3+ hours waiting to replace a social security card is like asking for a rare steak and being told it will take 3 hours. Uncalled for. Horrendous time management skills. Zero stars is more like it, but I can't post this review without at least on star.

They required me to mail my original copy of my marriage certificate and id to change my name. And when they mailed it back ups lost it. I know it’s not their fault ups lost it but they shouldn’t require you to mail originals, and they wouldn’t do anything to fix it.

I asked about ticket to work, they placed me under investigation and took away my benefits. They are all from dark haired dark eyed places with no history of racial tolerance towards non dark haired non dark eyed races. They are from axis nations. They rubbed it in my face that they fill out forms for hot ebt cards for themselves while telling me that no such thing exists. They made me fill out the same form over and over for months saying that I never handed it in. They told me that I am only allowed to go to the Chula Vista office since I am an actual American.
