We have taken many food tours, but this one also had a lot of history as well! It made for an even better experience.

Very disappointed. Would not recommend and not as advertised. We went to 4 places - not 5 to 7. Had chicken wings, New York cheese pizza slice - how is this at all representative of this historical Latin district? The half of Cuban sandwich we got had so little meat on you could only taste the bread and mustard. Dessert fruit pastry was in a cigar bar full of smoke. For a nonsmoker it was disgusting. Most of the people on our tour stood outside trying to manage a cup of coffee and the tart. The only reason I gave 2 stars vs 1 is that the history was interesting. My sister had gotten the tickets for us and I felt sorry for her since it was bad.

We had a great time, the food was good, and the history was fun to learn. The only complaint is that we were not warned that the last stop had smoking indoors. We walked in and immediately had to walk back out, the smoke in the air was too much for our asthma and sinuses.

We had a fabulous food tour in historic Ybor City! Our guide, Kristie, was truly amazing and provided us with lots of information about this unique area in Tampa. We filled up on food samples from several restaurants and saw a few roosters and chickens running around the neighborhood. So much fun!

This was an amazing experience! We booked this as a fun thing to do on a girl’s weekend. Cindy was our tour guide and she was so knowledgeable about the area. We got more historical information than was expected which was great for history buffs. Cindy even threw some ghost stories in there which was nice for two friends from Savannah, GA! The food was amazing too! They did a great job trying to highlight all of the cultures that made Ybor what it is. The highlight of the tour was it cuban sandwich. By far one of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. If you book this tour, which I highly recommend that you do, make sure to come hungry!

Ybor food tour was absolutely fabulous! Christie, our tour guide was fabulous. She was infectious, wonderful energy, made strategic stop, so we were in shade and air conditioning and provided us with a number of great stories, so much history that she had researched and found, and lots and lots of information. We looked at buildings, parks, statues and enjoyed food with Italian, German, Cuban and Spanish flair. The history of this area what is the very important for the development in Florida. Great tour!

I enjoyed learning more about Ybor city. There was some confusion with the meeting spot. I did not enjoy the brewery stop as I felt sick afterwards. I also thought there could have been more food for the price. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Liked the Cuban, Italian and cigar places.

Great way to spend an afternoon in Tampa! Our tour guide Sonya did an awesome job and especially as she was a fourth generation resident of Ybor City she added some great personal family experiences to the history she shared with us. We definitely recommend this experience for anyone interested in history and taking advantage of the great atmosphere found in this area of Tampa.

First off I can't say enough good about our guide Cindy. She is an native of the area and gave her own experiences of her families deep roots to the areas. From her grandfather working at Ybors brewery after the great depression to meeting her sheriff dad at the local diners for lunch. The tour gave a great taste of the ethnicity of the area and the foods of the many cultures that make this area unique.

This was a very fun, interesting, fact learning afternoon spent with friends. Ashley was an excellent tour guide who shared SO much knowledge, a few good jokes and kept us interested!! We highly recommend doing this food tour if you're looking for something different and fun! The only thing we would recommend changing is start eating a little earlier in the tour rather than so much information in the beginning. We felt like the last 3 stops were 10 minutes apart and we was feeling very full!!!

Our travel guide Cindy did an excellent job sharing the blended cultural history of Ybor City and handmade Cuban cigar production in Cuba, Key West and the greater Tampa area. Our food tour with 10 participants started with German-style beer cheese soup at Tampa Bay Brewing Company followed by black beans and rice at La Tropicana Cuban Cafe. We enjoyed Ybor City’s signature Cuban sandwiches at Stone Soup. After a short trolley ride, we stopped for giant slices of pizza (boxed to go because everyone was too full to eat.) We finished our tour in a coffee cigar salon enjoying delicious Cuban style coffee. The amount of food offered on this tour is way too much for any fit person able to walk this tour: 1 1/2 to 2 miles. Plan for 3 1/2 to 4 hours, especially if some members of your tour group order alcoholic drinks at one (or several) restaurants as 5-6 ladies did on our tour. Our tour guide and the tour website discouraged ordering alcoholic drinks at any of the 15-minute restaurant stop. Slow drink delivery on busy weekend day could mean unfinished drinks or a tour delay wIth a mix of happy loosened-up and grumpy, sober people. It is a shame the coffee stop was so late in the afternoon. The high test coffee kept me awake until 2:30 in the morning. The potential restaurants listed on the tour’s website did not match the sites we actually visited. They should not feature a restaurant that was not scheduled for any tour.

I will start by saying that our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. However this is not really a food tour. After walking around in the Sun for 3 hours and only having visited three restaurants which served very small portions, we decided to leave the tour in search of an actual meal. I would not recommend this for somebody who's looking for a food tour. Would not recommend this for children, or those who dehydrate easily. This was more of a historical walking tour of Ybor City, and should be advertised as such. Very pricey for what you get.

The view is nice but the place is dirty.

Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. However, the description of the tour included flan, tapas and mojitos, we got NONE of these. Instead we got chicken wings and pizza along with a small Cuban sandwich, cafe con leche and black beans and rice that although were tasty were not authentic. The restaurants were gimmicky with the exception of the cigar bar. Also, despite it stating that masks and social distancing are followed, our guide only work the mask when entering restaurants. Others in the tour did this as well. If you don’t want to sit and eat with other people, don’t go on this tour. Not worth the money.

Laura was a great tour guide, I have lived in the Tampa area for 25 years and had no idea there was so much history in Ybor. The food was great and meeting new people made for a great day!

I went on the Ybor City Food Tour. The tour guide, Cindy, was very knowledgeable and clearly has a passion for history and Tampa. She also spent a lot of time with our group to explain the history. My gripe is more with the business itself. I received a gift card where there were no further confirmations besides a basic PayPal email. When attempting to book the tour online, it requires a gift card number, which wasn’t on the confirmation. I emailed the tour group with the gift card receipt, but there was no response. I ended up calling them, and that was taken care of. The additional two people in the party, booked their reservation, which I thought was fine. Fast forward to the morning of the event, and the tour owner called about the reservation and the payment. I was asked to take a screenshot of the payment confirmations and email them. I did, and guess what? No one responded. I didn’t think anything of this until it took over 10 minutes to check in where I am being asked about gift card numbers and voucher numbers as well as my other party being asked the same thing I had already explained at the tour and earlier that morning. Here is a suggestion: why not include an email field when reserving all payments and bookings? The email address could be tied to the reservation instead of strictly payment. The fact that the business is relying on the guest to confirm their reservation especially with a gift card, should not be the case and it took me out of 100% enjoying the experience. Also, please check your email. Let me know if I can help facilitate the organization.
