I can’t rave about my experience enough! I got serviced with Taylor Mack! She was incredible. I had blue hair going in, and I left with the most gorgeous pastel purple hair ever. I walked in 5 minutes before my appointment, I was in a chair a minute later! Taylor listened to all my concerns. And we decided a desire color palette for my hair. I have super super red undertones for my dark brown. I wanted silver but I knew I couldn’t achieve that with the damage I previously had. Taylor got me to the most gorgeous pastel purple, and I’m more in-love than I ever imagined. Everyone who I seen leave with their hair down, while I was there, looked amazing as well! I had zero expectations going in, I’ve had trouble finding a place that I felt super comfortable in. Everyone was masked properly and there were only 6 people in the shop at max. I definitely recommend!

Lindsay is the absolute best!!! She's incredibly friendly and sweet, so knowledgeable of hair and worked wonders on my colored, curly hair. She recommended products (without pushing them) and methods to keep my hair looking amazing, and she made my first time at Mint an absolute pleasure! I got an ACV treatment, maintenance cut, and we decided on a new color together. My hair looks and feels amazing and I will be going back to her every single time! 1000000/10!!!!

My previous stylist of many years stopped working and I was so worried about trying someone new. I called and had a consult with Shannon for a haircut and OMG. She was AMAZING. Mint Hair Crafting is amazing! Tess is a great stylist. Every time I leave, I love my cut, color, and style. When I left today, it was raining. The salon owner let me use her umbrella to get to my car, and then she ran out to get it. She didn’t want me to ruin my hair. ❤️ It’s the things like this that make the most significant difference. They have the best customer service and make you feel like a close friend or family member. They set themselves apart from other salons with this. Thank you for always providing the best service!

I LOVE Mint! The staff are always super friendly and very knowledgeable with what they do. Highly recommend anyone at Mint, but personally Steven is my favorite! I came in a couple of years ago with a color gone wrong by another salon. Steven fixed it so well, and I have been going ever since. Mint has great prices and does amazing work. I got my hair cut with Stacy and she was amazing. She made me feel so good and important. She made it very clear that hair is her passion and that she loves making people happy through their hair. She took the time to do a thorough consultation, and was extremely knowledgeable about hair structure and behavior. She is truly an artist. The salon itself is cozy and chic, and it feels like the staff is inviting you into their family. Make sure to say hi to Walter the salon dog! I can't wait to go back.

By far the best experience I have ever had at a hair salon. Nicole did an amazing job on my hair. She took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted and talked me through the best way to do it to get the results I was looking for. She was very knowledgeable and actually took the time to explain to me everything she did and every product she used. Before she did anything she asked me what my budget was and told me exactly what it would cost so there was no surprises at the end. I have never had anyone do that. She explained to me the best options for upkeep on my color and what treatments to do moving forward. Everyone else at the salon was so friendly as well! So happy I decided to try this place and will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you are looking for a new salon!

Staff was friendly but hailey did my hair too thin in hurry as they had multiple appointments at the same time . And the hair cut was really bad.All my volume is gone and left with very thin strands at the end

My second visit at Mint... I’ve been twice for a cut and color with Taylor H. She is so nice, kind and funny and most of all - have gotten the best color and hair cut. It was really hard to find the right mix of someone who listens to what you want and who is skilled enough to do it but also professional enough to tell you what might work best for you. All the stylists are just so talented. I’ve seen the best color and cuts, ever, in my visits. One negative- they are booked for weeks and weeks. But that’s a great thing really. Thank you Taylor 🌸!

I did a transformation haircut with Natalie, for my first ever short hair cut and first time getting my hair professionally cut. I came in half nervous, half excited and it pretty quickly transitioned into steady and complete excitement and trust. It was a delightful experience and I got a lot of support and encouragement sharing what I wanted, something short that would look good for my head, face, hair type and be manageable in my active life, and being able to trust in the professionals that work here to bring that vision to life. My usual hair salon I’ve been going to for years closed without any notice. I only found out when I was calling to get my hair done, so I started to panic because I had no idea what color mixture was being used previously. I am light brown with some gray that I get colored red with highlights, and I have naturally curly hair that I wear straight, so it’s complicated. I was searching and reading reviews for a few days, then I decided to go to Mint Hair Crafting because I like supporting local Ferndale establishments, and the reviews. Starting with the call to get pricing and make an appointment, I felt I had made the right choice. Madeline is just plain awesome!! She made me feel at ease immediately. She listened to everything I had to say, gave me her input, and it was a really a fantastic experience. We decided together what direction to go in. She’s very sweet and knows what she’s doing, that’s for sure. Not only did she do a terrific job on the color and highlights, the cut is great too! I’m a very loyal client and likely would not have changed stylists or even locations had my old salon not closed, but now I see that this experience with Madeline and everyone whom I interacted with at Mint was far superior to what I had been experiencing for years.

I’ve had a mediocre hairstylist in the past. With that being said I had Hailey cut my hair and give me a crystal gel treatment a couple months back. I don’t know how I lived without her before. She is very knowledgeable and absolutely killed the cut. Flash forward a couple months and I still look in the mirror, in love with the job she did! Highly recommend!

I went to Mint for the first time a few months ago and Hailey killed it. She dealt with me being super indecisive about what I wanted and pulled off a color that is easy for me to maintain during such uncertain times. I got some all over color, highlights and she pulled out the stubborn red from my hair. She also gave me a nice little trim which I barely noticed (long hair girls, you know what I’m talking about). Hailey also has a phenomenal Instagram and occasionally throws some fun tips and tricks for us on there! I’d highly recommend Mint to anyone. I’ll caution that depending on the service it can be a little pricey but totally worth it! :)

My experience with Taylor Mac at MINT is always amazing. I have extremely thick, corse, long hair and I don’t trust anyone else to work with it! She is kind, professional, and so fun to talk to. This was the best experience I've ever had at a salon. Taylor H was my girl for today, and she was so sweet and so professional. She listened to everything I had to say and addressed all of my concerns. My hair is very fine, plus I've had years of medical transfusions that have just recked my hair. So my hair is brittle and dry. Taylor was very gentle and took her time with every step of the process. She recommended a KTT treatment, and this is the best my hair has ever felt. It feels so soft and silky. And the biggest plus is that she knows how to work with fine hair! I've already made my next appointment and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you so much Taylor!

This review is long overdue but I promised myself I wouldn't let 2021 come without me singing MHC's praises. I am known for having great hair, so I am very picky about who styles it. Unfortunately, after going to the same stylist for the past 10+ years, I was in search for a new place to maintain my cut and color in October. Out of desperation, I went to get my dead ends trimmed by a stylist I knew and she totally messed up the shape of my bob. Out of desperation again, I did a hashtag search on IG, stumbled upon MHC, stalked a few stylists, and landed on Shannon. Not only did she repair what I thought was a hopeless situation, she was patient, professional, meticulous, and dedicated to achieve perfection and ensuring I left happy. A couple weeks went by and I decided to give MHC another try for a color appointment. I have been in the red/copper family for years, and all of a sudden I wanted a change to go towards the ash blonde direction for my birthday. Shannon didn't have availability, but the owner, Stacy was determined to match me up with a good fit for my needs. I had an evening appointment to see Nicole, who was just a sweet, patient, and professional as Shannon :) However, after a few days, I just wasn't happy with how my hair turned out, so I gave them a call to express my concerns. I was not only encouraged to come in, but Shannon made room for me in her schedule to come the following day so she could fix my hair before my trip to Chicago two days later. The owner, Stacey, even pitched in to assess and address the situation. They both explained that because my hair had so much red and copper tones, it would take multiple appointments to achieve the results I wanted while keeping the health of my hair in tact. However, the goal was for me to leave confident and happy, and Nicole got to work and more than delivered on that promise. Not only did she address my color, but she treated my hair with extra TLC to minimize damage. At the conclusion of the appointment, not was I ecstatic with the results, but they did not charge any additional fees. Talk about EXCELLENT customer service. In the middle of a pandemic, a lot of businesses have been raising prices, charging for any and everything to make up for whatever has been lost, but not the MHC team. They have over 100 5 star reviews because their commitment to excellent customer service is non-negotiable. I'd also be remiss if I didn't compliment the other stylists (i.e. Steve and how their entire team seem so willing to lend each other a helping hand. With so many salons that have stylists who seem to work in silos, MHC has a familial atmosphere where the teamwork they exhibit is so authentic it's refreshing. Okay...I know this was a long review, but like I said, it was long overdue! To the team at MHC, especially Stacey, Shannon, and Nicole, thank you for making my quest for a new salon to call home a short-lived one and an awesome experience! Not only can I not wait to return, but I have been telling anyone who has complimented my hair where they should go, too!

Hailey I. is AMAZING!!! She has been my hair savior and is one of the BEST stylists I have ever met. From the very first time you sit in her chair, it feels like you have known each other for years. She takes the time to make sure you are on the same page, and each appointment it's as if it's the first time. There's never the whole "same as last time" comment, so you are never getting into a hair slump. On top of Hailey's amazingness, the ENTIRE staff at Mint is super friendly and they all work as a team. I have had a few of the other girls help Hailey out with my hair, and I am confident that if Hailey ever couldn't fit me in, that any stylist at Mint would take great care of me.

They went the extra mile that no other salon has done. Seriously best haircut I've had. They did a style class too which I loved, actually showed me how to do my hair. Let me use different tools I wouldn't usually be able to see if they make doing my hair easier.

I will go to this salon until I have no hair left on my head when I am old and wrinkly, well, hopefully I still have hair but you know what I mean! Everyone here at Mint is extremely friendly and most importantly - genuine. I have forged true friendships just by coming to get my hair done and connecting while having conversation. This isn't a place of gossip while you're in the chair but instead actual, meaningful conversation and LOTS of laughs. The owner, Stacey, who does my hair is an amazing stylist and always wants to make me feel the best I can about my hair no matter what. Just got home after visiting Mint Hair Salon for the first time. I had an appointment with Taylor Mack and she was an absolute delight! She created a polished, elegant look for me while maintaining realistic expectations about what could be accomplished and being completely upfront about the services she recommended and their prices.
