Not very good Primary Care. I've been to see my PC Doctor 4 times. Never once has she looked at me. She sits in front of her computer and reads off from the list of questions. When I needed help my team nurse called and told me to go to the Tampa Emergency Room, she even coached me on how to act to make it look like an emergency when it wasn't. Three times in the last several months I've had to contact my "team" because of they forgot to renew prescriptions. Services within the clinic other than my team are fine. It's a game trying to switch to a different team, you get a grand run around from the entire staff. I'm supposed to go see each team member and explain why I'm dissatisfied, give them a chance to correct themselves and then maybe action will be taken. Clearly a system designed by them for them. I'm not being paid as their supervisor, Zero oversight. 2022 follow-up. My primary care physician retired! I've a new doctor and new nurses both of whom are great.

I have transferred my "care" from Texas, and after 1 1/2 months of little sleep, severe pain, and loss of arm use, I still have no answer. After all, it took them 8 emails, 6 phone calls just to approve the medicine I was already on. This place is the worst! Rude nurses and clerks who ask the same questions over and over. But I am glad that while you're on the numerous lengthy holds, you do get to hear how they put the veteran first! Yeah, okay. Another VA clinic that hopes you die before they have to care for you.

Fantastic new facility. Keep Gus Bilirakis in office, he puts vets first

I recently had my first consultation with my new Primary Care doctor at this facility and it was the best consultation I have ever had at any VA and at any Primary Care outside of the VA. From the time I entered the facility all the way through. I have been to multiple VA facilities in Missouri and in Florida, and this facility beats them ALL. I have transferred all of my doctor's care to the Port Richey facility.

BEWARE VETERANS!!! Nurses and administration people are great. Doctors are careless, carefree and they have no accountability. Patient advocacy said the Doctors were wrong but nothing they can do. Cut out the middleman and go straight to Tampa. People should not be treated this way, especially disabled veterans. God help us all. BEWARE VETERANS!!!

One of my hearing aids stopped working. So I took to the clinic. They took the hearing aid and said they would send it out for repair. I asked when I would get it back and was told two (2) weeks. Right ! To my surprise, two(2) weeks to the day I received it in the mail. Great

Original Post: We met with Dr. Smith. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Sydney Houffe as my neurologist when I was in my 20's and he was the Dean of Neurology at Georgetown University prior to meeting him. He had also served with Patch Adams. During the consultation with Dr. Smith I was reminded of Dr. Houffe. He and she took the time to listen and care. When a Dr listens and cares, you feel like you are being heard. There were some glitches though in regards to technology. An order for a Pet Scan was coded wrong and we waited for a phone call. 2 months went by. When we called we were told it was marked as a consult. I hope the technological issues get fixed. †*****† 10/10/23 I wanted to update this. I have never been in the military BUT I am a Christian. We are still dealing with inaccurate documentation. From the listing of allergies to weeds...the inaccurate comments regarding oppioids to the note to keep drinking and smoking... to the lack of documentation in regards to Tylenol use... to which Dr. Smith said "you are taking how many for the pain? That will eventually kill you!" ±++++++± 1:11 am 10/11/2023 He had to use the nebulizer last night His allergies to dust and sand and weeds is being affected I have the doors open and the rented home is one side grass and one side weeds. I asked himwhy he hasn't picked up his Flonase. He said. I tried 3 times and she has denied the refill 3 times for 2 months. +++++++ Update 10/30/23 A nurse called tasked with doing the job of someone in customer service. I say that because she didn't know or look up the history before or during the call. This caused trauma again. I know Kaiser Permanente nurses were on strike. I don't know if this is a training, staffing, or management issue? Thank you and God Bless for her intent and goal of call was accomplished. But questions were asked.

I just came from there and everyone was very nice and professional. I checked into reception and went down to the lab. I think the whole process took 10 min and Pat the tech was awesome. I'm so happy people are getting great care here. Keep up the great work, it doesn't go unnoticed!

EPIC FAIL: I am a veteran; I have been there twice; once in February 2023, and once in may 2023. It is TOO small, and it is NOT a hospital. The perspecgive is deceiving from Google Maps and from the road. They have no ER, not even a stand alone ER. And they close at 4:30 pm. Most ER visits happen way after 5:00 pm. For example, the dental dept was supposed to move in, but they can't: There is no room for them, and they have not even been open 6 months yet. The Department of Veterans Affairs just spent millions of dollars on something that GAVE ZERO IMPROVEMENT TO THE VETERANS. The Department of Veterans Affairs just spent millions of dollars on a WHOLE LOT OF 'NOTHING

Immediately when I try to sign in at front desk, I approach (As I’m supposed to)I’m here to check in she cuts me off mid sentence and yells, someone will be right with you in a very rude classless tone, rather explain her computer is down. in BEHAVIORAL HEALTH 1. First and last time here. Not putting up with this already. Enough problems on the West Coast to have to put up with the trash here in the south. Contacting patient advocate. Will post name later. 12/04/23.

Always there when the VET needs them . Docs are great and so are the P.A.'s as well as the nurses and others. Very helpful in all areas for veteran. THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY LOCATION! GO TO YOUR CLOSEST HOSPITAL FOR EMERGENCIES!

I've been with this clinic for 16 or 17 years about 5 or 6 years ago I had to call and reschedule for another appointment I called 2 days in advance and they wanted to ridicule me for that this month I woke up definitely sick on the day of my appointment and I couldn't make it so I called as soon as I could to reschedule all they want to do is ridicule the vet find fault in the veteran just so they can hide their own downfalls if I'm sick I'm sick I can't make it I was not about to get behind the wheel and try and make my appointment they act so childish and other than that I've been pleased with the VA.

I am mostly happy with this branch until I call their phone number and choose option 0. The recorded menu options tell me to press 0 if my situation is urgent. I have made multiple attempts to use the option in an attempt to contact my doctors but each time I am kicked back to the main menu and read my options again. I am 100% not impressed.

  • 1/5 Ryan H. 10 months ago on Google
I would rate 0 Stars but that’s not an option. The phone system sucks. There isn’t a voicemail set up so we can Never get through. Please fix the phone systems!

The doctors and nurses are wonderful here. Lab work doesn't take long at all and the wait times are decent for appointments and pharmacy. Very helpful staff as well. It being a clinic, it doesn't have all the amenities as James A Haley does which I hope to see in the future. There is supposedly a new VA hospital being built nearby that'll have everything you need at one place. Parking is good although there should be more handicapped parking out front. I suppose if this new building is being built itll alleviate that problem. Overall, it's the best VA clinic I've been to since leaving the military in 2012.

You can feel the tension when you walk in the door. The Social worker is a real nightmare, as well as some of the nurses. We needed to see my husbands doctor. Nurse said we didn't need to see him. Said "your husband is dying...what do you think the doctor can do? "

They do what they have to get the patient stable, then send him home with little very little information about how they intend to move forward with his overall heart issues. I had to administer one hour antibiotics four times a day. A mechanical heart value must come out and replaced with a natural valve. That must be done before they can repair the underlying cas of a hernia he has dealt with for years. I know he is my big brother, he is 73 years and becoming so weak. And we have COVID 19 delaying non-emergency surgery to keep beds open for COVID patients. God Bless every American vetern/hero we have For those who did not hear the words when they came home, "WELCOME HOME HEROS" ✌Brother's you earned it for yourselves when you protected my ✌and security.

Doctors and nurses really cared for my husband's health and gave the best recommendations for his care. If you are ill and need to be seen urgently, they will help you, but to get an appointment to see a doctor asap, you must stress the urgency of it.
