    I've been there twice and there's an older woman who works at the counter that is extremely rude. Both times she went out of her way to complain about her job to customers (including myself). The first time she complained about her closing shift and how much "it sucks". Second time (today actually) she was not only rude in tone and demeanor, but also complained of how people come in 5 minutes before close to have her help them, and complained about having to close again. I've gone two times within a 3 week span, and dealt with the same lady with the same attitude. Poor customer service. Will not be coming here again and this review is a warning to whomever may want to do so. Especially half an hour before close. I recommend the one in Crystal Lake or in Woodstock. Much friendlier service.

    The Wost customer service ever! Yesterday around noon I came here and they were two ladies inside just chatting. And they saw me standing out the window waiting for someone to help me. But they did not care that I was a customer and I needed a service. I couldn't believe it. I just walked out and left. And I was the only customer at that moment. Not the first time to experienced this. There's one lady who appears to be Spanish. She is always looked grumpy and mean. I never get that. I will never go back I had enough.

    Walked in at 7:39 to transfer a title and the guy behind the counter says :” that’s going to take too long I have an appointment I have to make after work , come back tomorrow “ . Thanks for the help Lay-Z boy.

    Great place, but if I was the manager,I would hire someone who wants to work.... to replace Malane, people like her, should stay home and drink a beer, it was right after Thanksgiving, looks like she had a hangover or something, who force her to come to work?? She gave me hard time!!!! Will be nice to lose their customers and to stay home with no job, probably then they will understand how to deal with the clients!!! BTW how i can put 0 stars???

    Please avoid this location! Went there May 19th, 4pm. The one guy with glasses working there COMPLETELY refused to help me with a Western Union transfer only because I was with my father who was also doing a similar transaction . Without further explanation he rudely said he can’t help me. After asking further questions about why he could not do it he either stood there silent or kept saying he could not help me. He did not give one single reason why he can’t to the transaction other than saying he can’t do a transaction for that much money (I had not even told him the amount yet, but he did read it on a note I had) and said that he had the “power to do such thing.” He did not consult or called anyone to verify. After asking to speak to a manager or supervisor, once again he stood there silently. At one point he even asked me to leave and said “we’re done here, goodbye” while walking away. I did not get anywhere with this guy and ended up leaving and calling Currency Exchange customer service to file a complaint. I further confirmed the amount I was looking to send was within allowed limits. At the end of the day I think he was just being racist, because I was only talking to my father in Spanish when we got there. I was shocked on how we were treated. First time there and last time for sure. I do hope management realizes they have incompetent employees.

    Service here was fine albeit a little slow. The reason for three stars is the price and transparency. I went to get a simple title and plates. They charged $346 for what the DMV charges $241 for. I knew their would be a fee but this borders on extortion. They know the dmv has reduced hours and they are taking advantage of us. My big concern is nowhere on the website or inside do they show pricing. I was not told fees would be over $100 for 10 minutes of work until the paperwork was done. At this cost I might have just taken an afternoon off work and went to DMV. Just so others know.

    Drunk with the immense power vested in them by the Illinois Secretary of State, the old ladies here will strive to find some way to send you away unfulfilled, thus wasting the trip, as they just did to me for the second and last time. Elsewhere, no problem whatsoever.

    I’ve only been in to this currency exchange twice, maybe three times max, and each time it’s been quite an pleasant experience. It’s not so much WHAT they do (or don’t do), but rather HOW they do it. They’re not friendly. They border on being rude if not absolutely being rude. They act as if it’s the last place in the world they want to be. I arrived a minute before closing one day to do some extremely simple transaction that would’ve taken less than a minute, and yet they refused to let me enter. They said they were closed, but the clock said it was NOT time for them to close yet. Those are the types of things that really leave a terrible impression on people. It has on me, unfortunately.

    This is a horrible place they are slow on purpose I see people just walk out several times .even if they are not busy plan on waiting because it will take them 5 minutes to walk up to the window Iam not kidding

    Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. Rude and unprofessional and totally unwarranted. I don’t even leave reviews, but I felt it was important to let everyone else know. No matter how nice you are they will treat you like trash.

    If you need a money order it’s an ok place. If you need to do title work STAY AWAY!!! Had my boat and trailer titled and taxes done here for what i thought would be a convenient stop. I was super wrong! 1-Taxes were figured wrong. 2- bill of sales sent to wrong places 3- was flat told they will not help me fix it I Should have known that they were doing the taxes wrong and that the bill of sales were sent wrong. So now I owe the state more . Which i have no problem paying what i owed in first place but.. They are saying that my boat and trailer each cost the same amount. Because the bill of sales were sent incorrectly. I paid the 594 dollars in taxes i owed for the boat and trailer Then the boat bill of sale was sent for trailer so the State says i owe another 518 + the 60 late fee + the 185 they calculated incorrect Plus the penalty. 6.5 hours on the phone with state and they cannot correct it over the phone unless i pay to redo all the paperwork. And send back tags and titles and start from 0 STAY AWAY

    I went there to have a title transfer and transfer plates. The title and plates were in my wife’s name. The plates at one time were in my name. The woman who works at the currency exchange. What is the rudest nastiest person, actually gave me the number to the DMV and said call them I can’t help you because you can’t do that. this location refused to do a title and plates transfer, required me to buy new license plates and tried to charge me $450 for something to DMV did for 125$. Save your time and money, they can charge anything they want for the same services that the DMV can do for a fraction of the cost. And trust me if you think dealing with the people from the DMV is bad, you have no idea how rude and unwilling to talk about situation. These humans are at the currency exchange at this location..

    Long line, no A/C, there was another lady in the back not helping with the line, and the lady that was working was kind of blind, kind of dead, and kind if rude. Plus, they charged me a $7 fee on a $53 transaction, absolutely absurd! But I'd been waiting in line for 30 minutes so at that point I had to walk out with something.

    Change your hours online. Don't make the us waste our time. It's 2022 and you guys (management) can update the hours online. -Stop putting a piece of paper on the door.-

    Went here to register Tesla asking for EL plates. Completed transaction and gave me wrong plates then said they never heard of EL plates before and didn’t know Tesla wS a Currency Exchange. Then they told me the transaction was complete and couldn’t be undone. Now I’m at the State getting it fixed. The State told me they could have canceled the transaction on the same day. Of course then they wouldn’t have collected their fees.

    For starters i never feel compelled to write reviews, but i had to make an exception today. I went to get my sticker renewed this morning for my car, and the male employee with dark hair and glasses helping me charged my card and then told me it did not go through despite me showing him proof on my bank app. He refused to sell me my sticker or give me a refund and told me to come back later to see if it went through on their end. I refused to leave without my money or my sticker and received it only after making the employee make some phone calls to verify that i was charged on their end. The employee just kept staring at me not talking like he just wanted me yo give up and leave, and I was treated like i was being an inconvenience for wanting what i paid for or to get my money back. I will never come back to this currency exchange. Basic customer service skills go a long way and I did not appreciate how i was treated. I would give 0/5 stars if it was an option.

    Great experience after running around all day trying to find a western union and pay a mortgage bill these wonderful ladies had it done and me out of there in 15 minutes!! They are awesome!! Wish I had gone to them first!!

    I made a 1st attempt to cash a payroll check of $68 and was denied because they couldn’t get a hold of my employer. Immediately after the process I was able to get a hold of my previous employer as well as the bank that issued it. I took another Uber to that bank and they cashed it no problem. The gentlemen didn’t even make an attempt to try calling the bank. I made a 2nd attempt another day to cash my retirement check and the same gentleman again tried to contact the organization that issued the check… they got an answer and full verification. Then I was told they have to hold my check for 7 days until they can pay me after 20 minutes of a verification process. Both times I brought full verification for myself and had any info they could require from myself to ensure a smooth process. Both times I mentioned I had scraped up money to get an Uber there so I can get my funds. On the 2nd attempt I had to stand outside in the freezing weather and do the most just to get back home empty handed and the gentleman was well aware of the situation and gave no sympathy, empathy, or even offered for me to stand inside for a few minutes to stay warm. I felt overwhelmed with denial, inconsideration, mistrust, and negativity when I provided everything I was asked for plus more. I feel hopeless stepping inside that door. Never again.

    Tried to do a title exchange and the clerk was the most awful person I’ve encountered. Unprofessional, rude, and not in the slightest bit helpful. I walked out to go to a CL title exchange.

    It’s actually zero stars. Clearly no one cares about the reviews. My wife came in to exchange $20 bills for $100 because it was a Saturday and the bank was closed. The man behind the counter told her “we can’t do that for you” My wife knowing me said just don’t go back in because it’s called a CURRENCY EXCHANGE you supposed to able to exchange your currency, foreign and domestic. I feel bad saying this because years ago some nice people worked here. Bad service and a joke of a place now.

    Hi Management Team!! I hope you will read this complain, and possibly talk to your team members. I have been visiting this location for last two Years, since I am foreigner, I do send money or cash out checks, sometimes I do come for to renew car stickers, plates, registration but every time I come I leave with bad experience, bad mood :( ! Again went there few days ago left with such a bad treatment (may be I look foreigner, that is why they treat me like this?), there is a woman who is like my mother who is over 50 Years old (I respect her as a mother but she is the one treating me like this), some of behavior is, she doesn't have to explain to me, asking my phone and work place load, there are many people in line what if they gets my personal details? I have seen other locations where they ask you to write down personal details for privacy purposes. I don't usually leave any complaints but this time forcefully I had to. I hope you can understand. I didn't want to disclose her name but if it's needed I can provide it. Thank you.

    I have been coming here for a lot of years. I can't remember, its been a long time. They are always friendly, quick...and it's cheaper cashing checks here too. Banks want to charge you $10 dollars.. Are you kidding me. That's also why I come here. They do so much here, they make it convenient. License plates, paying bills, they do it all.

    I receive a text thanking me for my business here at this location, I call because this text mentions my name in it ... and I've never been here in my life let alone have a visited a currency exchange in over a year. The lady was extremely unhelpful, kept telling me I shouldnt worry about it there's nothing she could do for me. That maybe it was the wrong number someone entered in, but yet it has my name in the text. Then her excuse was then it was probably from a year and a half ago from when you were last at the currency exchange, I explain but it list her location specifically and I've never been there. Then her response was well i don't know but I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sorry if this is a sign someone is trying to steal my identity I should be worried and thank you for showing your company doesn't care if your assisting someone in stealing someone else's identity! I wouldn't trust these people with anything in my opinion. ***** update The manager herself called me when she caught wind of my situation, she was very apologetic and helpful. Explained how this occurred and how they resolved the issue. I am extremely grateful that she gave me the answers I was looking for that eased my mind. And that she was going to explain to the employees to have more attention to detail l to make sure this doesn't occur again for anyone. This will be my reasoning for 1 star to 3
