Wish I could give more stars, the food was amazing! You walk in the store front and you are consumed by the smell of wonderful food, the owner is super friendly and makes great recommendations if you're unsure of what to get. We each got an order of samosa, I got a wrap, he got the chicken Tikka, it was only $36! A ton of food for the price. The meals were filling and flavorful, and made a great impression. We will be back for more.

We lived an hour away. My son wanted to try something new. Best place ever, the gentleman that waited on us, was so nice. Plus the food was amazing. You could tell they really take their time to make really good food. It's a must try. 10 outta 10 for sure.

Very nice and comfortable location in a neat part of the patch. I had butter chicken which was delicious and the appetizer sampler. These are the best grape leaves I've had and the portions are great.

If there is a word for beyond delicious, insert it here. Had the Mix Grill which was SO GOOD! The customer in front of us recommended the eggplant which I will definitely try on our next visit.

OK, so I gave this place 5 star review 3 years ago when I first discovered it and I wish I could give it 10 stars now. I typically get either the Gyro or the Spicy Chicken Wrap. Today, Kauash told me about the half chicken special, and I went for it. It was the best tasting chicken I have ever eaten. Tender, spiced, just enough heat... I had to stop myself from eating it all so I could bring it home for my wife and kids to try. Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks Kauash!

The in house dining is good, the food is good but NEVER, N E V E R take away from them. Even if you request 100 times, they will not listen. They will always give you elements of food (example meat pieces) which in house dining people reject. If you ask them for tender meat pieces in takeaway, they will pretend all good as if they will listen, but they will do exactly as their psychopathic self declares. That said, this is a must visit Restaurant for in house dining. Food is out of this world.

A friend and I ate here for the first time. We ordered the appetizer plate, tzatziki fries, lamb gyro, beef gyro salad, and chicken tikka masala. Everything was made fresh to order, tasted absolutely fantastic, and the service was spectacular! Definitely 5 out of 5!

Ordered to go. Service was good I didn't find the food to be good. The pita was actually Nan bread and kind of stale. The hummus was a very small quantity for the price and not fresh tasting. Falafel sandwich, I would give 3 stars to. Not returning here

Falafel is 🔥, and my go 2 whenever I eat at Kabul Express, but the owner recommended a chick pea curry when I called up this time and i decided to give it a try. And.... At $8, you really can’t beat that. After tasting the curry, I’m flabbergasted I only paid $8 for it. I’ve paid $20-30 for similar dishes at other restaurants and let’s just say... I cleaned my plate. 😋 I also had an order of the veggie samosas. 10/10! They came with a green (spicy) dipping sauce that was 🤤. If you’ve been thinking about trying Kabul Express, Do IT! Go out of your way and eat at this place! You won’t regret it.

Excellent and authentic Afghani cuisine. Marg is the must try at this place. The mutton in the Marg will be very soft and juicy. For those who like spicy food can try Nalli Nihari. Also kebabs will be delicious. Prefer Majlis dining to enjoy the food to the core.

A nonveg Heaven, Kabul Darbar as the name suggest, boost on the Afgani non.veg delicacy's ..but it includes Arab and Turk dishes as well. The food is excellent but limited kababs and local Afghanistan dishes are also few. The location is the best, have a decent parking space. Ambiance is okay. Kullard Chai ia also available with a side Hyderabadi Pan shop.

Absolutely love this place. I’m so lucky it’s 5 minutes from my house! Every time the food is hot, fast, delicious and so affordable! The samosas are amazing with the chutney. The salad awesome, the chicken kabob plate divine. Hubs loves the chicken wrap spicy. Their falafel is so fluffy and delicious. Gyro to die for. And don’t even get me started on the hummus. My biggest problem is deciding what I want to eat and ordering too much! We’ve been ordering from them for over 2 years & have never been disappointed once. Can’t recommend highly enough

So, have seen this place when visiting a near by spot. We came in tonight and OMG! The place is super nice and from the moment we walked in, the service was amazing! We got some hummus and stuffed grape leaves. Fantastic! My daughter got a gyro and ate the whole thing. Absolutely will be returning and anyone in the area should stop in. So wonderful!!!

This place is excellent. Best Afganistani restaurant in St. Louis. It is small and tastefully decorated. The food is of the highest quality in taste and presentation . Menu is diverse yet concise. The owner/chef is the most friendly and considerate person you will ever meet. If you like good from the near East you will live Kabul Express STL.

Wonderful dining room and wonderful service. I ordered for carryout since I live in the neighborhood. The food surpassed any expectations I had! The rice is nothing less than magical! I had gyro over rice and extra tzatziki, and it came with a chopped salad that was a perfect complement. The gyro meat was of best quality and was perfectly roasted. I'd give it 10 out of 5 if they'd let me.

Love their food. It's always good and consistent. I just found out that they moved to Ivory St. Good move! I was afraid they wouldn't make it in the old location. I hope the hours are more consistent now that they have "dine-in" service. I'm not a fan of the big open space. They need something to break up the space like booths and a couple of walls. Get some help with the decor. You do great with the food, but need some help/advice with decorating. We want you to make it in the neighborhood!

The Sugarwitches have landed at Kabul Express STL! This custom 'witch is BE WARNED for mango lovers onlyyy. With its nutty-lovely crust and delicate aroma, the mango lassi 'witch is To Die For. Had it as an appetizer to my all-time fave menu item, the beef kabob wrap. Coriander, cumin feature perfectly in the meat filling. Divine! The house-made cardamom cookies are a must-have, too. Tender, thick, each cookie individually pressed into a flower-shaped mold: never seen anything like it! Finer crumb than trad shortbread, they are cookie magic. Can't wait to return & pair them with a Turkish coffee. I live in walking distance, a blessing/curse lol. Go get you some, NOW! Multiple pics lol of the 'witch's bespoke togs & the ingredient list are all I got left...

My husband and I took a stay-cation and came to this restaurant after a good friend raved about Kabul Express STL! I was not disappointed at all! Kauash, the owner, makes all the dishes and his customer service was outstanding! He is such a nice man! Great presentation, great concept , and great execution! We ordered 3 dishes to share. We got the Falafel wrap, the butter chicken over rice and the Chicken Schwarma over rice. Desert was a pistachio, rose water ice cream in a sugar cone bowl! The flavors were amazing and dishes, delicious (say that 10 times fast!) The only thing I don’t like? I don’t live close enough to eat here everyday!!! I would love to see Kauash do a food truck, expand to a west county location, or somehow share with more people. This restaurant is a secret that should not be kept! The food was delicious and well portioned. The Tikka masala had a slight spice but very manageable. The mango chicken was not spicy but instead had a hint of sweetness that paired well with the chicken.The service was great as well. We will be back to try more the options.

I eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I have to say their service is always good and they keep the place well kept all the time. Rates are convenient and they serve sizeable portions.

Just tried Kabul Express for first time. Absolutely delicious! The sambosas with dipping sauce will be coming home with me on all future visits. The chicken tikka masala (with spiced rice) was perfect. Tzatziki was spot on too. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to return! It really is a gem.

this place is the best ever! every item i have gotten has been spectacular, and the service is fantastic. it's truly my favorite resturant in the area. such a hidden gem! (for my vegetarians i highly reccommend the meatless meatball curry!)

That's a bold statement. Its not just the quality of the food, but the originality. The sambosa's are a nice variation on the Indian samosa, filled with potatoes and lentils. The seasoned fries are a unique cross between an American staple and Afghan flavors. My friend enjoyed the fellafels. The beef in the kabobs was as tender and flavorful as any beef I have ever had. This place deserves more attention for takeout. But it is not well suited for dining in.

This is it. This is what you want to eat for lunch or dinner. Look no further. Hummus, Tikka Masala, Kebab plates, and gyro were all fantastic with a side of friendly and personable customer service. I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

We've gotten takeout from here a few times and the food's been great every time. Owner is very friendly and the food is always ready when I arrive. I miss the chicken shawarma wrap -- it was terrific!

I had this for the first time today, and it did not dissapoint. The chicken kabob over rice was tasty. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. My husband really enjoyed the beef kabob gyro, as well. I will definitely be going back!

My husband and I ordered lunch from Kabul. Service was great and the food was delicious! Great experience. We had a gyro salad, half chicken and rice. All was delicious. We were especially impressed with the fried half chicken - excellent flavor!

An amazing place to grab dinner. We happened upon this quaint place on our way to Monday night dinner. I'm so glad we stopped to try this place. Amazing atmosphere with clean fresh decor. Food is phenomenal, highly recommend the hummus and chicken tekkah masala over rice. Best kept secret is the baklava with ice cream, seriously amazing. The staff is very attentive and super kind. Definitely plan on making this a regular spot.

I've been wanting to try this place forever. Stopped in one weekend and the only thing on the weekend menu was lamb shank. Which was perfectly fine by me since that is what I wanted anyway. The only thing I didn't want, like was the French fries that was included. Next time I will know to tell them hold the fries. The lamb was delicious!

This place makes the best chicken shawarma/wrap I've ever had. I try to stop at this place every time I'm in the city. Very good food and genuinely Afghan. I highly recommend to all.
