My first time visiting this restaurant. We went for brunch and the place is so nice. The menu has many food items to choose from. I had a corn soup, which was so very tasty. I opted for the Molletes which was so very good. My son had the torta with sausage and egg and my husband the tamale. The portions are very generous and the bread is so very good. The owner and servers were so very helpful and attentive. Looking forward to a return visit.

The food was definitely exceptional, but the service left something to be desired. First we ordered the soup and the tacos, we waited for 20 mins and the soup never made it to the table. The waitress was too busy tending to takeout orders and her own food which she subsequently ate adjacent to us and basically disregarded the fact that our food didn’t come out prior to her own. It was in poor taste to sit there with a paying customer and eat your food first and have no regard for whether or not we had ours. I hsvr worked in the restaurant industry before and I would have never intentionally sat in front of a paying customer and ate food first. Needless to say the etiquette has to be address. Take care of your customers first. Regardless don’t try to make up excuses for your mistakes and lapse in judgement you never known who the person is that you’re eating or tending to.the restaurant was practically empty there shouldn’t have been a reason for us to have waited for that long for our soup and tacos. The soup should have been brought out to the table first and foremost. I hope the owner of the establishment gets a chance to read this. No excuses for this type of neglect.

Great tasting good, friendly staff, nice cozy ambience, good price. For takes a minute but totally worth the wait. Drinks are made wonderfully well. Staff is very nice.

What a amazing hidden gem. The restaurant is located right on a main street in Philly. Its a small yet inviting restaurant. We went there for breakfast and they had a good selection of food , lunch and dinner also sounded appetizing. The food was great as well as the service. Their beverage selection is great. They service amazing traditional and Mexican style coffee. Great Mexican cuisine!

Wanted to check out this hidden gem in South Philly. Authentic Mexican food with friendly staff. Service was a little slow but the food was delicious. They had specials available. I got the "cheese steak". It was delicious but I wouldn't consider it a top Philly cheese steak contender. It's more like a panini. They also have outdoor seating.

We had a wonderful time going with my husband for his birthday with his aunt and uncle. The food was delicious. The mole was very good; enough to inspire me to make my own yesterday. I had a tamarind agua fresca. I can't recommend it enough. The waitress never said one word to us and seemed very stand-offish but the presumed manager made up for it with his bubbly and accommodating attitude. The prices were on the high side of reasonable but was well worth it. A cute little spot near go the drag show we went to afterwards. The refried bean portion was very tiny, like a table spoon smeared on the plate. They were delicious and I wanted more. There was a half cup if rice on the plate but the enchilada was a large portion.

This is some of the best food around in Philly. The waiter here made some suggestions to what we should get and it did not disappoint at all. Would definitely come back here to try something else from the menu and I'm sure it will be just as good.

I throughly enjoyed my visit to Cafe y Chocolate. The drinks/coffee was great but the food took a very long time to come out. I think I would have enjoyed it a little more if my eggs and pancakes were hotter. All and all the service was great.

Consistently delicious. The workers are so nice, they know us, and tease me about how much I can't resist their desserts. :D A warm, cozy place, good for one, two or small groups. Brunch, lunch and dinner options.

Nice hole in the wall place that’s been recommended to me a lot. It exceeded expectations. The staff was very inviting and the food was delicious. Started with the cafe con chocolate and churros. Amazing huevos revueltos con chorizo. Perfect brunch spot in Philly. @fettuccini_alfano

Delicious and vegetarian friendly! Veggie flautas were really good. Great beverage selection as well. Friendly and attentive service. Came here on a Sunday morning and dined outside (only a few tables and chairs available) - it got really busy around noon.

This place is remarkable, the service is impeccable. The staff is so nice and you will always be greeted within a short time of your arrival, along with a great authentic atmosphere. You can't go wrong with any of the many options of drinks, super fresh and the chocolate is amazing. And last but not least the plethora of food options, all made with authenticity and fresh ingredients that will satisfy any craving, and give you all the lovely flavors you didn't know you needed.

Last me start with the place and ambince. This place is small but super cozy. The service is very friendly too. Last time I was here the service was disappointing, but this time they really made a lot of changes. Waited 10min for our meal. Their hot chocolate is must try on cold day!

We went in last Sunday for brunch. The food was great and delicious, but the service was quite poor as they forgot our food order even though we had a baby at the table and we had to enquire after almost 1 hour if they had our order and it seems they to them started making it. We got our meal almost 2 hours after getting in. The owner did apologize once he came almost 1.5 hours to see us still waiting for food once I got his attention. Because it was so late, our friends with the baby are just half their meal and had to get the food to go. I ate my Mollete special quickly, and the food was tasty indeed, but I was disappointed it took so long. The owner did comp us by taking off the hot chocolates from the bill which was appreciated. Overall, the food was great and well presented, but the service tarnished the experience.

Really enjoyed this place, and I will be back. I had breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning. No problem finding street parking and no wait to be seated. I started with a regular coffee. For my second cup, I got the coffee with chocolate. It was delightful. For my meal, I had a dish from the specials menu with eggs, pastor meat, and a salsa Verde. It was very tasty, but it could have been a little warmer temperature-wise. I had overall a very positive experience and will definitely be back again when I can.

I went with my sister around 3pm and ordered the birria tacos, quesadilla con carne, and 2 orders of horchata. The service was great and they checked in on us very often. It’s a small place and would go back to try their espresso drinks and breakfast options! The total came out to be about $47 for everything we ordered and we were full.

I went here for brunch. And it was fantastic! The food is delicious and has generous portions. I had the Enchiladas Divorciadas and the Café con Chocolate. The steak with my enchiladas was very well cooked and seasoned, and the enchiladas were tasty, with a red and a green sauce. The coffee was stellar, for me worth a trip back on its own. The service was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. The space itself was small, but laid out pretty well. We had enough room, but it wasn't roomy.

Seriously, it was one of the best meals I ever had. My family and I were all in awe. The hot chocolate was amazing. A little small inside, but they can't really help that. I have been seriously considering traveling there just for this food! I live in NY

Best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Green salsa that isn’t too spicy for me, which I really appreciate (a difficult feat to find when you have as wimpy of a palate as I do). Service is always so nice, helpful, and on the ball. Note, I cannot recommend the “empanada” enough. It’s not a traditional hand-pie type thing, it’s more of an overstuffed taco where the shell is this chewy fried dough (not crunchy hard shell, and not soft corn or flour tortilla — a magical fourth type of taco shell you’ve probably never had before).

Went here after a doctor appointment with my mom. Amazing food and awesome customer service as well! If you want something refreshing the Tropical Mango smoothie is the go to! Recommend the burrito with Pollo Asado, the chefs did an amazing job! 10/10 ^^

Authentic Mexican food with good flavour. Priced a bit steep for what it is. Service was adequate, a little slow towards the end of our visit.

Cafe y Chocolate is one of the best Mexican food spots I’ve had in Philadelphia. The salsa was flavorful and the chips were seemingly homemade and so delicious! I had the enchiladas verdes with brisket on top, it was so tasty and the brisket was perfectly cooked. Our severs were very friendly and attentive as well.

Cutest place. Sweetest, most hard working staff. Very accommodating to dietary restrictions and special requests which is important for someone who is vegan! The coffee is awesome - iced or hot. I will definitely make a point to return!!

Did outdoor seating, lots of flies (but obviously not their fault) Good for what it is. Had the Mexican hot chocolate ($5.50...a bit pricey, maybe bc it’s their signature). Had flautas, they weren’t too fried which was nice, but I did want some more rice and beans (wasn’t enough). Server was very polite and attentive. Churros were great as always. Besides the hot chocolate, everything seemed fairly priced.

It was a cute Mexican place with a decent menu. We had fresh juices which were great - the orange-ginger was way better than the orange-Carrot-ginger. For the main course we had a chorizo con papas tacos and a tinga chicken burrito. Both were 8/10 - great, but not excellent! Worth a visit if you are in the area...

Cafe con what the heck...leche in my mouth. I have endless expressions for this place. But I will confirm that the cafe con chocolate (hot or iced) = legit heaven on earth. Breakfast burrito to die for. Nachos out of this world with extra lettuce makes it a salad. Great staff and twinkle lit ambiance. Great spot for brunch or grab and go. Secret hole in the wall type vibes. Hidden gem stuff!
