Dan the man , was very helpful with our first experience with a E bikes. His wife was also experienced with everything and friendly. We will definitely be back for another enjoyably ride.

Easy 5Stars! I'm very glad I found Boardwalk Electric Bikes in the Promenade on Mission Blvd. This is the most friendly and affordable bike shop. Dan (the owner) and his assistant were very helpful. They do business like it should be done... I love that.

Found this place by using a Groupon. Wasn't sure what to expect. We had been in the area and saw lots of bike rental places and some seriously trashed bikes. But we gave Boardwalk a try and we were not disappointed!! We paid the upgrade fee for e bikes. Totally worth every penny!! My wife and three boys (17, 15 and 12) had an amazing time. The bikes were in excellent condition and we didn't have any issues. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Totally recommend if you're in the San Diego area.

Great place to rent bikes. We got regular cruisers. They had big wheels so we didn’t have to work so hard to peddle. They were good quality and the process to borrow them and sign waivers was fast.

Marlene and Dan run a tight ship! My husband and I had such a great time cruising around San Diego. $15 a day per bike was a great price as well! Within the two days we put on about 50 miles to those bikes! We had SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! Highly recommend!

My husband & I were visiting from out of town a few weeks back & decided we wanted to see the sights. We chose to rent ebikes from Boardwalk Beach Rides and had a great experience. Angelo rocks! Great Experience, Angelo was awesome! He was super helpful... I rented the scrambler which for a dirt bike guy I had fun...My wife got the beach cruiser style which fit just like her bike at home..

We had a wonderful experience with Boardwalk Beach Rides. Friendly, quick and seamless check-in process. Reasonable rates for 4 electric bikes. We rode up and down the boardwalk and through the alleys for a super fun afternoon! Stopped for an appetizer and a drink before heading back at end of day. They validate parking for a period of time. Aaron was so accommodating, he even took our photo before we headed out. Highly recommend!

They have everything! Practically on the beach, super easy and convenient.

Bikes were fully charged. We only had 3 of the minimum 4 hours left before they closed, so we got a discounted rate. On one of the bikes, the battery connection kept coming loose and the bike would die until it was pushed back in.

To me, this was just so damn cool. Went on a Tuesday with my daughter and had a great time with an E-bike rental. I totally want one now. These things were cool. While I cannot say that I always stuck to 8 MPH...I can certainly say that making sure we were respectful of other 100% of the time and only opening up when the opportunity presented itself. There were some spots around the bay where there was no one and we could test them out to the fullest. Really cool. A great way to spend the afternoon and to not worry about that headwind in your face. There's a time for exercise and a time to cruise.....I am sure you can guess which is which.

We went to Boardwalk Electric Rides so I could rent an eBike from them since we decided we were going to venture north into La Jolla. I normally bring visiting family members there to rent beach cruisers. I took out one of their new Wave Electric Bikes and I have to say it was pretty cool! Even though I had the E power turned off much of the time, when I needed it, it was quick to react and easy to ride. It really was a lot of fun! The staff is always so friendly and informative. They were definitely conscientious of Health and Safety in regards to COVID, so that was comforting. Cool thing was that while I was out on the eBike, I had them repair the chain on my own beach cruiser and by the time we got back, my bike was ready to go. It's nice to know they also do bike repair and sales. I will definitely continue to go back to these guys and will always recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable Bike and beach supply rental and sales place.

The individual trying to assist me was a little crazy. Would not let me ask a question and told me to "just read the contract." BTW - my question had nothing to do with the contract. It was a disturbing experience.

Awful. Just awful. I should have known it was going to be an issue when we asked the simple question “are you open?” was met with incredible attitude. Then we couldn’t even finish a sentence without being cut off. She kept asking me for clarification on our rental but wouldn’t even let me answer. What a horrible person. Apparently she didn’t want our money. I am still shook at how horrible she treated us. Stay away!
