I love açaí bowls, but there aren't many places im Seattle or Vegas that have amazing açaí bowl places. Now that we are in San Diego, there are way more options to choose from! We came at around noon, and the line was pretty long. I immediately thought that this place must be legit then, and I sure was right. It was definitely worth the the 10 minute wait in line, plus 15 minutes to get our food. Hands down the best açaí bowl I have ever had! You could really taste the freshness of every single component inside, from the juiciness of the sweet strawberries and raspberries. To the delicious, crunchy granola and almonds. Then to the refreshing, smooth, and tasty açaí sorbet! I can really go on about just the açaí because it was so good. It wasn't too sweet, and it was perfect for the warm and sunny day ahead. Plus, they really packed it with a lot of fruit too, which I absolutely loved. This was definetly the best place to kick off our first day in San Diego! I really hope we I will be able to come back before we leave San Diego!

I wanted to order a smoothie from the $8-9 section and ended up being $10 before tax and around $12 after tax. The employee didn’t say anything and when I brought it up, he tried to convince me that the price was valid because of one of the ingredients was $400 a container. (Not true, I used to work at a smoothie store that used Blue Majik). I didn’t say anything and got a cheaper smoothie. However, I won’t come back unless they could update their prices and have their employees be more honest. (Response to owner: my partner and I visited the store together, he deleted his review so that I could post it instead. Since we both ordered drinks, we’re both entitled to leave a review. Anyways, no, we are not harassing you. )

I’m a açaí bowl fanatic. I’ve tried so many from all over the world and this place made my top 5 list. The consistency is key, the base is fresh and not smoothie consistency but thick. Unlimited toppings for no extra charge.

Best açaí bowl ever which is saying a lot because I even lived in Hawaii for a year where açaí bowls are everywhere. Unlimited fruit toppings and dry ingredients are included. Definitely pay the $1.50 extra for peanut butter. 100% worth it. This is a must stop every time I’m in San Diego. Highly recommend taking to the cliffs by Point Loma university and eating them while looking out at the ocean!

The absolute best acai bowls in San Diego! The small is big and the large is massive. We liked it so much we went a few days later for round 2.

This place makes the best açaí bowl in SD! The fruit is always fresh and it is piled so high they give you a paper plate to catch it as you scoop it off the top. You can have an açaí, coconut or pitaya base, or blend all 3. I always add peanut butter because the flavors work so well together. We’ve tried a lot of the açaí shops in SD and this one is by far the best!

This place honestly does have the best açaí bowl in town! (That I’ve tried so far). We love getting the large & sharing it. The combo of fruits they put in is just divine, with the açaí sorbet & granola!! We also tried the pitaya and coconut cream with the açaí one day and it was also super yum. Good job, Northside Shack!!

The BEST acai bowl I've ever had!!! They even allowed a half and half base and I opted for half warm oatmeal and half acai base, guys it was divine!!! There's also a generous helping of so many different kinds of fruit and other nutritious items like chia seeds!!! Highly recommend!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Snails pace service. All the staff moved incredibly slow. We got there at 9AM and waited 25 minutes for our bowls. I asked for a larger bowl because mine was overflowing and impossible to eat. I was reluctantly given one. The plastic spoon I was given smelled like soy sauce every time I took a bite. Only giving 2 stars because the bowls are good.

AMAZING! I'm still astonished that their add-ons are FREE. If you're looking for a quick stop, this is NOT the place for you. But that means they make sure to do a good job with what they're making! Not really a sit-down spot but they have a few seats for while you're waiting. The prices aren't grand, but what else do you expect with a place that is all fruit/produce? They stack their acai bowls sky high with fruit (again, with endless add-ons) and their smoothies use a dome lid (like what you'd see with whipped cream on a milkshake) but instead of whipped cream they fill it to the brim with the mixture.

The best açaí I’ve tried in the entire world. Always fresh always the same quality and consistency. My daughter and I have been coming here for years - it’s the only place we will even get açaí or smoothies at this point. Staff are AMAZING super friendly, always a great vibe - they are always super kind to my daughter and just have nothing but great things to say about this place and their people! All their locations are always in point.

If you are willing to wait a long time for a decent bowl, this place is fine. I went in this weekend with a party of 5 and it seemed to overwhelm them. My mom waited over 20 minutes for oatmeal, and despite me making several inquiries about signing up for their advertised reward program, I wasn't able to get points because the staff gave me incorrect answers as to when to input the information, and then said there was "nothing to be done, sorry" after the $60 plus order was placed. I asked for a coupon perhaps instead of the points, and got a shrug and another sorry, nothing can be done. The Acai base came out too thick at first but was better after melting a bit. The containers are not a convenient shape to eat out of, they should be wider and flatter instead of tall and deep.

Love Northside Shack. Amazing smoothies (blue majik and breakfast blend) and Amazing acai bowls with super generous fruit toppings.

This place has 5 stars for a reason! The workers are so nice and you get your order really fast. The fruit is fresh and soooo yummy! The acai large bowls are soo worth it ($13)! I don't go anywhere else because the bowls are so small at other shops and almost the same price at the ones here. Come here and you get more for what you pay!

Came here because of the high review and was very disappointed. First, service is suuuper slow. I’ve never had an açaí bowl take almost twenty minutes to prepare! Everyone was waiting ages and there didn’t seem to be a clear reason for the backlog. Second, the (overpriced) bowl is weirdly filled with açaí to the brim and then fruit is stacked on top, meaning the second you open the cup, the fruit falls out. Sure, they offer you plates, but I want to eat my fruit with the bowl, not piecemeal as it falls. And finally, the ingredients just weren’t that great. Not flavorful, fruit was okay quality, and skimpy amounts of granola and chia. Wouldn’t go back and def wouldn’t recommend

Best and biggest acai bowls that are layered of fruits and Goodness! I get the 50/50 of acai and Dragon fruit. I have had many from CA and Hawaii, and this is the best one!!! Parking can get busy, but it's quick serve so I wait and there's usually a spot that opens up

My favorite place for an Acai Bowl. In my opinion best you can find in San Diego.

Very tasty, yet healthy acai bowls. Be prepared to wait about 15 minutes, but well worth it. No indoor seating, but you may get lucky enough to find a seat on the outdoor bench.

Best Açaí place I’ve ever tried. So many different fresh fruits and the açaí is the perfect consistency.

This was a pretty incredible breakfast! The cashier/server was incredibly helpful. You have a lot of agency in what goes into your bowl from what sorbet you want to the fruit toppings to the dry toppings. We shared a half acai/coconut sorbet with strawberry, mango, bananas, and granola as the topping. Every thing worked really well together in my opinion except the strawberry. If I was returning, I would order full coconut sorbet because I liked how that tasted a lot more...it doesn't really feel healthy though... The one observation is that it is not an accomodations sit down and eat restaurant. There are benches under the window, but no tables. We were given two plates, two spoons, the bowl, and then sent on our way. Figuring out how to hold the bowl, plate, and spoons while eating was a collaborative effort and an activity any married couple should undertake.

Went there because of the good reviews so I had high expectations. Tried their smoothies, both the specials, a strawberry rhubarb and a tropical blackberry. Took a good ten minutes to get our smoothies, only two workers and they had a good line of customers. The smoothie were just okay. The tropical blackberry that I had was very thin and over powered by the mint / ginger. The strawberry rhubarb was also okay, nothing special. We were told they were most known for their acai bowls, so maybe those are better.

Best tasting acai bowl that I have ever had. The coconut base was so amazing. Only shortcoming is that they close at 3pm. Would love to have their store open till atleast 10 pm. Good run for the money if large bowl is chosen and pretty much good enough for 2 people.

I would totally recommend this Acai place in San Diego. I love their acai large bowl, definitely a good deal. The large is $11 and they pack it with a lot of fruits and toppings. Their acai is great and the line can get pretty long but it goes by pretty fast. They have a small parking lot but people go in and out every few minutes.

  • 5/5 Brigitte R. 2 years ago on Google
This is one of the best places in San Diego to get an acai bowl. This place is pretty small and it can get busy at times but don't let that discourage you. You can customize what toppings you want to include and I highly recommend adding peanut butter, it's a game changer! I love that this gem is in Point Loma!

This is my second time here but love it. The potion are a lot and everything is fresh. Sometimes I even shock that my potion are worth more than what I pay. No fake food here.

  • 5/5 Issam K. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely the best food I got during my weekend stay in San Diego. Good price and definitely worth the wait. My only feedback would be to add coffee and tea. Also for anyone ordering a small is totally enough for a human being.
