The nurses are very nice. I have two gripes which have really soured me on this business though. 1. In addition to the $3,900 I spent on the series of 6 infusions, they also attempted to charge my insurance company an additional $14,000 in facility fees (4k for the first visit and 2k for each subsequent visit). Normally I wouldn't care if my insurance company pays more money. I don't believe KCLA charges the customer that additional $14,000 if the insurance company doesn't pay. However, I find it to be a ridiculous money grab. They make you give them your insurance information when you come in for your first infusion, and only then tell you that they’ll try to bill your insurance. I think this is very sneaky. They never tell you that this ludicrous amount will be charged. They're not taking your insurance info to try to reduce the amount you will pay (if asked they'll say they don't work with insurance), they're trying to see if they can get some additional money from your insurance company, on top of the customer paying the full sticker price for the infusions. I was shocked when I saw the claim on my insurance. 2. The doctor who runs it has no people skills. I only spoke with him once, after my initial series had ended. When talking about results I mentioned that it didn't seem like the ketamine had much long term effect for me. He looked up my last mood survey result and informed me that actually I'm doing fine and don't have severe depression, and have I considered therapy as a treatment instead? Of course I am in therapy. I found it very audacious of him to tell me my depression wasn't bad, having never met me before, and only looking at the results of a survey. Earlier in my treatment process, when talking to nurses I had expressed concern that I'm not sure the mood surveys did a great job of encapsulating my mental state. They were understanding and assured me it's just one data point, and of course imperfect. When I spoke to Steven Mandel he reduced me down to that one data point. He seemed content to dismiss my concerns based on that. He also failed to check my initial mood survey scores, which were quite similar to my post-treatment scores. When the two data points are taken together there is not a clear indication that the ketamine worked. It seems that if my last mood survey score is good enough for him to think I'm not depressed, then they should never have suggested ketamine treatment based on my initial mood survey score. This man is not very empathetic and they'd do well to limit his interaction with patients, for the sake of their business. He does already have very limited interaction with patients, maybe for that reason.

It's hard to put into words all that I gained from completing my ketamine treatment series at Dr. Mandel's clinic. When I started treatment, I had been chronically suicidal. I was thinking about suicide since my teenage years, and couldn't shake the feeling no matter what therapy or medications I tried. Having struggled with my mental health for over a decade, I was diagnosed with a myriad of disorders including major depression, generalized anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and BPD. Having "suffered in silence" for years, I grew used to the underlying negative emotions I experienced daily. That is, until I divorced my spouse, lost two of my closest friends, and made a move across the country. All those stressors compounded and I was left with the overwhelming feeling that no one cared. I heard about ketamine treatments before, but didn't really believe it could help me. I was at my lowest low, and was actively planning my own demise. Every morning, I was "tying up loose ends" and was battling the darkness in my brain every moment. It was terrifying, isolating, and I was miserable. I didn't trust anyone, not even my own therapist I'd been seeing for years, and I was very suspicious of undergoing this treatment. I knew that I desperately needed help, had tried everything, and figured I might as well give this ketamine thing a try before taking my own life. I am so, so happy I did. Turns out, I had nothing to be suspicious of. Dr. Mandel and his whole staff are very friendly, caring, nice, and "get it". They coordinate care with your existing mental health treatment team, and it made me feel like they truly cared about my treatment and progress. At the same time, I felt included my treatment, and felt comfortable letting them know my concerns and needs. The nurse I had for my sessions, Kevin, was down-to-earth, calming, accommodating, and kind. The PA, Conor, was very nice, caring, skilled, and knowledgeable. Dr. Mandel oversaw my treatment, and even called me directly to check in on me after my therapist communicated the severity of my suicidal ideations. I was not judged for having these thoughts, and he definitely was not scared away like most providers. I also really liked the MoodMonitor program they have, which tracks your daily mood and progress. It is clear evidence that the treatments have hard, statistical results. I tried a couple of sessions at another clinic that provided injections intramuscularly and one clinic that shipped a ketamine lozenge to your home. In my opinion, these other methods are not as good at all. Dr. Mandel has so much experience with this treatment, that he really is the pioneer in ketamine treatment for mental health therapies. His staff ensures that each "journey" you experience is therapeutic and meaningful, which I noticed was not a priority for the other clinics I went to. It is not an over-statement or an exaggeration when I say that this clinic saved my life. I went from hating everyone, everything, myself, and life in general, and now I wake up excited about living life and have enthusiasm for the future. I am able to trust more, and have positive interactions with people again. Overall, the ketamine made me realize that I am apart of the universe, not fighting against it. It feels really nice being able to live as apart of this world, than feel like an alien or an outsider like I did before. I recommend this clinic to everyone who is having mental health struggles, and I truly think this is going to be the next big treatment in psychiatry. Final note, if you are a veteran, make sure to mention you've served. You'll get a discount. :)

Outstanding care, warm and expert staff and truly professional facility. KCLA just celebrated 10 years providing ketamine infusion (IV) therapy for treatment-resistant depression. I checked 2 other highly rated providers. One seemed good, one seemed in transition or simply not good. The names can be confusing. KCLA is the BEST, most experienced. Dr. Tashkandi consulted via phone with me within 24 hours of my inquiry, providing full information asks answering all my questions. Arriving, the offices are bright and absolutely professional in appearance and staffing. Intake was thorough, the Victoria (RN) showed me to my treatment room and walked me through it all. Victoria is simply AMAZING! Then Dr. Tashkandi, who's great, stopped in for too confirm dosage and give his final OK. For me, the initial session was a bit scary because it was impossible to fully prepare for the feelings and sensations. The second session was actually enjoyable and I started feeling benefits afterwards. (Very quick!) Bottom line: You want to be in a facility operated by and staffed with people who really care and whom you can fully trust. KCLA is the the ONLY PLACE to go.

The treatment works, no question about it. It's not a magic pill, and it is a process, but there is no doubt it has made a big difference. Part of that is the wonderful staff. I only wish two things, that insurance would get on board, and. that the office would open the occasional weekend day. Thx!

I am convinced this work is going to change the world. Today I received the progress notes from my 6 infusions and could not wait any longer to celebrate this amazing clinic and the data that shows how much progress I have made. I have suffered from depression over half of my life and attempted suicide 13 years ago. I got to the point where I was just trying to make it through each day and was never really thriving or living even though I was on medication and in therapy. After completion of my infusions I can say I am living again and loving every minute. Not only was this treatment life changing for me, others around me notice a difference as well. I am so thankful to the team, especially Kevin and Julian (my favorite) for their wonderful care and ensuring I was comfortable every step of the way. I cannot say enough good things about my experience.

I can't recommend it enough. I've recommended it to every single one of my friends and family members, 98% of whom don't even deal with depression! It's just a wonderful experience. I truly feel if everyone on earth tried ketamine therapy (done the right way, which KCLA certainly does), everyone would be oozing humanity + understanding and the world would be a better place. I'm sure there's so much more I could write but the truth is, you just have to experience it for yourself to comprehend anything I could say in describing the experience. I will say this though -- if you're reading this review right now and you have any reservations whatsoever in relation to fear of the unknown or having a "bad trip", you can put your mind at ease right now. KCLA dials you in to the PERFECT amount for your specific body composition and not for one second did it ever become too much, scary, or bring on any other negative feelings. I'm writing this having had my 6th session this morning, so I've been through the entire experience. I specifically waited so I didn't jump the gun and write something I would later regret. I have ZERO regrets and you have ZERO reasons not to book your sessions today. Enjoy!!! I sure did

The clinicians were very nice and good at what they do, and understand the difficulty of dealing with mental health issues. They prepare you well for the ketamine experience and make sure you are comfortable throughout the process. Its been a week since my sixth infusion and I’ve definitely started to notice the benefits, feeling less weighed down by my thoughts and anxieties and being able to enjoy the little things again.

I can not say THANK YOU enough to this incredible clinic and its amazing team for making me feel at ease and safe during my infusions. Very professional, kind and caring. Conor especially takes the time to make sure your needs are met and listens to any concerns you may have. I did the mood disorder six infusion series and my experiences were incredible and completely turned things around for me. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is suffering; I will definitely be back!

Office is dreamy. Staff is amazing. Chairs are big and comfy. Setting is great. My K Treatment helps a lot, like nothing else has. You can tell they put a lot of thought into monitoring your mood with the daily text software they use and the check-in quizzes they give before treatment. If I could design a perfect clinic, this would be it. Thanks again.

With tremendous gratitude I say, KCLA is top notch. Each member of their team provides genuinely kind and gentle care at every turn. The ketamine experience itself profoundly changed my perspective and I am now hopeful for a happy, meaningful future.

Sweetest nurses ever. Kevin lent me his own eye mask to use during the infusions. This is my third clinic and these folks really, really care. Can’t recommend enough.

This review is primarily for Dr. Tashkandi. There's just no words for what an incredible doctor he is, by far the best doctor I've seen of any kind! So compassionate, thorough, and really good at what he does. I am following him here from a different clinic for medication management so I haven't been in person yet, but all of the staff at KCLA has been great so far as well. They are very helpful and respond quickly to any inquiries.

Ketamine infusions have given me my life back! The staff at KCLA are some of the most professional and compassionate people in the industry. In one of my darkest times I took a chance on Ketamine therapy and since my first visit my life has changed drastically for the better and for that I will be forever grateful. “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light” - Albus Dumbledore

My experience with Ketamine Clinics Los Angeles was above and beyond from the beginning. Adam at the desk is beyond proficient, friendly, and kind. The nursing staff was invested and I felt dedication and care from them as well as a genuine interest in the field. The nurse asked about my experience at a previous infusion business and how it differed. They were very tuned-in to my experience but certainly not in an overbearing way. I’m relatively knew to ketamine treatment and although I haven’t seen some of the stellar results you read about I’m still giving it a go.

Ketamine Clinics Los Angeles is a top-tier treatment center. The team that Dr. Steven and Sam Mandel have put together is compassionate, knowledgeable, and quite skilled. As a psychiatrist in the community, I have referred many of my patients to their office for ketamine infusions for depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and substance use disorders -- because I trust the care they will receive will be excellent. Results are frequently rapid and dramatic, with most patients getting significant relief within their first week of starting treatment. I am grateful to be able to collaborate with the Mandels and their staff for the betterment of all of our patients.

i've suffered from depression for as long as i can remember. anti depressants had stopped working. i felt like i was being rolled into a scratchy wool blanket head and all like a really tight burrito .last week, i had reached the point where i had to do something. i stopped the meds that were causing me to fall and hallucinate.as i explained to dr. Mandel, i wasn't suicidal .but the depression makes you do things you may never had thought about doing. a rep from AARP said when the gift card scammers are able to put people in the ether net. knew i was there and needed help. i was afraid i might hurt myself and be totally unaware of it. i called the ketamine clinic of los angeles. i needed an infusion to knock me up awake. i had 3 prior infusions last year. what a wonderful feeling it was. last thursday i got a new lease on life. the infusion gave me light in my very dark world .i sleep better. i've gotten things done that should have been done 1 year ago, i can go out and about without my anxiety meds. i've seem the looks on people and doctors putting their noses up at the thought of ketamine. let them keep their noses up. it will rain soon. i'm not fluent as to how ketamine works. all i know is that it does. dr mandel and his wonderful staff saved my life last week and i'll never be able to thank them enough. if you are in this dark place please get help. therapy is a good idea and the ketamine is the chemical balancer. be well and be blessed. joanne

Everyone at the office is super professional yet welcoming at the same time. Conor does a great job on the phone and in person with explaining the process and answering any question you have. All the nurses are eager to share their experiences and do a great job at making you feel comfortable at all times. Can't say enough good things about Dennise. Felt totally at ease with her during treatment/dose evaluations. Never had a chance to speak to Dr. Mandel due to the current epidemic but he called the very first night after my treatment, to make sure I was OK and to leave his personal cell number in case I wanted to reach out to him. Overall was a FANTASTIC experience!!

The staff at the clinic are amazing, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I wasn't able to make it to Chicago for my maintenance treatments, and they were able to fit me in last minute during my time in LAX. The front desk staff are extremely friendly, as are the various providers looking after you during treatment. They got in touch with my healthcare provider in Chicago, and got me booked in for my maintenance dose. The process was quick, easy, and painless. I can't say enough about how professional and effective the healthcare team are at the clinic (I am an MD/MSc. Student & Emergency Disaster Responder/EMR w. the Red Cross), so watching the process both as patient and from the standpoint of a medical care provider and MD in training, I would highly recommend this clinic based off of my experience.

I’m not sure where to begin – other than to mention this has been an INCREDIBLE experience all around. I have been struggling with situational depression for some time now and the condition had improved significantly- though I felt that I had hit a plateau on progress as of late and like there was a fog left from the aftermath of those years in my brain. Just wasn’t fully back to normal and needed a reset – couldn’t watch a movie through, read without having to re-read 3 or 4 times, focus, etc. From this, I discovered neuro-feedback therapy, which I truly believe is life-changing and for ALL to try. To this, I was recommended to add a two week ketamine treatment program to resolve the stubborn anxiety and PTSD that persisted through my years from childhood. I just completed my last treatment last night – and can say that the for the FIRST time I feel as though I have gravity and that my feet belong on the ground here. It’s a sense of being rooted and settled – one that I have never experienced before. Although environmental stressors continue, I feel better adapted to handle them with poise and from a place of strength. Life feels more matter of fact – and less of a daily challenge. As for the doctor & staff at the clinic, I cannot acknowledge of commend them enough! They are each a joy to work with and filled with compassion and empathy. I am grateful to them all. Now for the actual infusions - there are no words to describe the experience– other than to say approach each time with enthusiasm and trust. Be open to the experience and secure in the fact that this is a step towards healing. The experience is unlike anything you have ever known – where you start to see sound and feel color. A feeling of magic rooted in deep science. Wishing you health & courage to take that first step!

On the whole, it's a good experience. Very pricey, but there's really no alternative if regular depression meds haven't worked. The nurses are very supportive and the experience is carefully controlled--- no reason to be afraid of it. Hard to describe in words what happens but it gives you a new perspective.

I just left one of my infusions and felt the need to credit some of the staff I’ve come to know. I was having a rough day today and came to my infusion late and in tears. Edith took the time (as she always does) to calm me down before starting the infusion. It meant a lot to me that despite being late, she was able to find & manage the time that she has to split with other patients, to talk me into a better headspace before starting. Julian is another amazing asset to this team. Like Edith, Julian has always dedicated the time to answer all my incessant questions. He has even handed me post its as I exit with podcast recommendations to help me learn and understand how to get the most from my experiences there. William is another stand-out on this team. He seems to handle a lot of the front desk business, but I was blown away by his knowledge about the treatment that happens behind the desk. Per usual, I had a million questions and concerns before starting the treatment, but he answered them all and put me at ease. He also always follows through when he says he will call, send links, etc. Sadly, this level of customer service is no longer realistic as an expectation, so when I cross paths with teams that do what they say they’ll do, have integrity, & exemplify an admirable work ethic, I try to always express my appreciation. This is a thank you to them as well as an assurance to others like me. Depression is crippling enough already. If you have the energy to fight it, use it to battle the depression, don’t waste it in a battle with poor customer service.

Ketamine therapy has been genuinely life changing. It has had a tremendous impact on me, I have suffered with life-long suicidal ideation and It has been critical in shifting many of the symptoms of my chronic "medication resistant" depression, freeing me of suicidality and my overall feelings of worth and right / willingness to exist. The staff at the clinic are extremely empathetic, intentional about every detail of the treatment, trauma informed, trans-friendly, and culturally responsive. It's been a miracle to find such a gem of a team and have this treatment covered by my insurance provider. I went to an inaccessible place in Orange County before that was so awful the staff was incompetent with basic things like pronouns and asked extremely inappropriate invasive and activating questions that had no relevancy to the service provision on top of costing $600 a session out of pocket, therefore I was only able to receive 4 inconsistent sessions which were of minimal support. I feel eternal gratitude for this new and deeply healing process. I am shifting into a less consistent maintenance schedule now but hoping this newfound levity and improved balance can stay forever. I know healing is a lifelong journey and one’s environment etc can factor into our wellness but I am still hopeful bc this clinic; it’s technology, staff, and accommodations have helped me reset and find a healthy baseline, something I have never been able to tap into before. TY KCLA!!! ❤️ I am recommending this clinic to everyone in need of this level of care bc I know they will be treated with dignity, kindness, compassion, and true individualized support.

When I found out that my insurance would cover the ketamine infusion treatment I was like oh my gosh there is something else for me to try. I have suffered since I was a kid and I am 64 years old with treatment, resistant, depression, panic disorder, PTSD, anxiety, and so on. First, I just like to talk about the staff everybody there is so kind and always there to help. I have to say without my nurse Kevin I would not have gotten through it.. He is one of the kindest, compassionate people that I've ever met. I'm not an easy case probably like everybody else, but he was very patient with me, and I am so grateful. . My mood trend has improved. I haven't had this for a long time. I didn't respond to the medication right away. I'm kind of a late bloomer, but now that it is kicking in, I can tell there is a difference with me. I have a lot of stress in my life and I was so happy when I found out I could try this and without it I don't think I would be out of my bedroom. I'm not saying I'm completely cured I have to continue on with my therapy , get into some groups, something I never wanted to do because of my anxiety depression getting out but now I think depression / anxiety groups would help me continue getting well.. I'm waiting on a referral to get a few more treatments since I was late Responding. I'm excited now to think that, maybe just maybe my life will have some peace that I can shut my brain down, which I have already noticed that sometimes I can tune bad things out. I can only attribute this To the ketamine treatment. I would like to thank everybody at Ketamine treatment so much and hopefully see you soon for a few more treatments and then if I need boosters later. Susan Stanley.

A near-miracle treatment with a fantastic staff. Can’t beat that! Everything done is gently and respectfully. The actual infusions are powerful and effective, and the dose can be changed (to a limited extent) on the fly. Staff is knowledgeable and caring, they actually remember you and your stories. Almost all are great at inserting IVs. Just some people with dehydrated difficult sticks and rolling veins may have a harder time here. But still they try to minimize pain, getting help if things are too tough. I love the nurse staff. They are universally cool, and have had experienced the treatment you’re about to go through, so they can speak knowledgeably about it. Only disappointed is that there’s not a little more continuity of care between the staff - it would be nice sometimes to keep the same nurse throughout, but it is also great meeting ones you don’t know. Gets you a different perspective. It would also be nice if the person who catches you at the end, so to speak, would be consistent. Some integration therapy work at the end of the infusion would be stellar, truly stellar. Sort of just walking oneself out of the clinic cools down the positive feelings just a bit. But still I have brought a family member here after I had a such a good experience. It took about 12-13 treatments (a lot), but then I rocketed out of my depression faster than any type of depression treatment before. Thanks for everything you guys, I won’t forget you.

I was nervous about this. Deeply. Checked with my doctor and he hesitantly agreed I could try it. Cut to three weeks later: no more daily headaches, no more grinding my teeth at night, no more overwhelming sense of malaise or that sense that you are constantly overwhelmed by everyday tasks. I can go do a thing now! The staff is incredible. From the doctors to the nurses to the reception. They make you feel deeply at ease and will more than patiently answer any and all questions it concerns. You got a bit nauseous the first time? No problem! We will add in some nuclear grade anti nausea meds. Bit dehydrated! Saline! Fidgety? Pillows! Fans! Blankets! Juice! They are the nicest people you'll ever meet, deeply professional, extremely understanding. Unbelievably patient. Julian! Victoria! Denise! Part of me wanted to kidnap them all just to have that amazing energy around the house. Don't be nervous or skeptical. Do it. After the first session you have the feeling that you are waking up after a coma, excited and looking forward to things, happy to see friends and family. NORMAL! Side note: they've heard all the Pink Floyd jokes.

They do it right here. They are very careful, safe, and patient. They are committed to helping people get better which takes time and support, not getting as many people in and out of the door as fast as possible. The staff really believe in the treatment and have seen or experienced first hand how miraculous it is when other treatments have failed. I really appreciate how they have enough staff and rooms that the nurses have time to answer questions and listen if you do want to talk about your experience. After your infusion is over they don't rush you out of the room, you can take as long as you need to gather your thoughts and come back to normal. You wouldn't be able to get the most out of your treatment if you were rushed. My main nurse was Edith, who gave me a huge amount of time and support, and Julian and Kevin were very supportive too. They are all engaged with and committed to the process. Ketamine works through chemistry but they encourage you to engage with the experience and think about things during your infusion and between treatments. The ketamine treatment worked when nothing else has. I have tried all of the medications including mao-i's, and TMS, and nothing worked. When I came to KCLA I could not imagine not feeling depressed and now I can think about having a future. Getting the most out of the treatment takes commitment in time and effort and transport and facing things, but it's given me my life back. I would not want to go to another clinic, they are paying attention to what works and know what they're doing here.
