I spent two weeks trying to make an appointment. The person with whom I spoke (a women) hung up the phone on me 3 times. I needed to apply for a SS card and this women was asking me several times for my immigration status in a very rude manner. I explained and told her I had all my documents and she wouldn’t give me an appointment. Do you think you are doing us a favor? you work for us, for the state, for the benefit of the people. I had to call another social security office got my appointment and they issued my card without any problem.

Looks like SSA is broken. I was on call waiting for someone to schedule an appointment using 800 number for more than 3 hours but no one come to help with that. then tried again for 2 hours but no luck. Then tried local office number about 10 times but all the time it sounds beeps engage sound. Then drove to local office and security guard said they take only by appointment. I told him I can't get to phone and can I have appointment schedule at the office and been said they don't schedule at office and I have to call to make appointment. But there is no way to get someone on phone to schedule an appointment for new ssn card. Also link to local office search goes to broken page says page not found ! System is total broken :(

I will be filling a report against this office with proof . The behavior of the staff especially over the phone from this office is unacceptable. I wear a body camera just because today society have a lot of wicked people in nice clothing and some find it easy to lie to other folks .

Horrible place to go, 23 windows and 3 people working. They don't care one bit, 10am came round and all the employees took off for 30 minutes, im guessing for breakfast. If you value your time and sanity, go to another location. If you do have to go I pray you don't go to window 15, Karen works thst window and she is extremely sensitive. I would give you 0 if I could.

I am usually very reticent to write a negative review, but as a taxpaying citizen have to something. Customer service, specifically at the Chatsworth CA office, is in the top three of worst experiences ever. My wife is applying for social security benefits which will be comprised of 32.5% of my current benefits. I was told that both my wife and I have to apply, verbally, over the phone or in-person. I have called the national and local numbers over five times and put on hold for 30 minutes each time with no response. When it did ring, no one answered the phone!. As recommended by the SSA, I tried calling late in the day or later in the week, but that didn't help either. I finally did speak to someone and she said I had make an appointment but that there was nothing available at the moment. She then said I would receive a letter in the mail in three weeks with instructions to make an appointment via mail---of course I NEVER received the letter. To make it worse, the customer service agent was not friendly, had absolutely no energy, and made me feel I was burdening her by calling! I pay taxes for this? SSA, if understaffed, please hire more people and make sure they are competent. If I could give it, zero stars from me.

unfortunately I had very bad experience with their supervisor who is in mid age, wearing glasses and asian race he is too rude ,he never learned say HI to other people we had request for re issue SSN card ,but he was arguing with us & kept saying your card will be same like you have now and denied our request so we came back another day, with all same documents, they issued SSN and we received after a week as we EXPECTED!! so this guy so annoying person, unprofessional and untrained person really I don't know how he became SUPERVISOR

I was here yesterday,(May 11,2022) the service here was fast and the staff from the security guards to the lady in window 15 were very helpful and patient. Very respectful and polite. These are the type of workers that people should deal with. San Fernando Valley need more workers like them. Update: I recieved my Social Security Card in the mail on May 16, 2022 ( 5 days after) which is even faster than I was told to expect which was supposed to be 2 weeks. 😁

I went in for a name correction and was in and out in 20 minutes. I did not make a prior appointment however i did fill out my information in an online application that took no more than 10 minutes- saved the confirmation number, collected my documents and then drove over to the office immediately. I dont know if the application counts as the appointment. The security was very nice (if you are nice to them they will be nice back) and its essentially like going to the DMV but not too crowded. Im expecting my replacement card in 2 weeks

Waiting in a super long line under the blazing sun, with elderly and pregnant people, and getting terrible customer service – well, that’s pretty much what you’d expect from any government office.

I visited the Social Security Office in Chatsworth for Medicare reasons. The representative Annie solved and answered all my questions. She was very pleasant and yet professional. I would highly recommend her if you plan to visit the Chatsworth branch. She worked at window #7, but she might work at other windows too. Thank you Annie.

They will not answer the phone. No idea if my application went through. They have never answered the phone one time, in months. Other local branches say they can't help because I have to use this branch based on my zip code. It's been months. Literally can get no help whatsoever. Can't go in person thanks to Covid. Does anyone even work here? Ridiculous.

Horrible service, had submitted my application 6 weeks back. Still no news on status of the application and after calling the office they say they don’t see the application submitted yet and asked to call after a week. Calling the office as being lucky to get ur call connected is another epic. I understand this is pandemic time but this much delay and no response is not expected.

I'll be losing my income soon and I was rejected due to still working (caregiver for mother). I've been forced to put her in a nursing home early and cut off my income now after getting a call from a rep named Luis/Louise who was extremely discriminatory, making fun of my disability (scarred lungs) and bragged about how he made more than me working at McDonalds. Wouldn't let me speak, and when he did, he talked to me like I was a child or ignorant. I have to say that this was the worst experience I've had speaking to any governmental representative, even general representative. I already know that no one cares about the disabled in this country, but wow, this was like an axe to my chest. I hope he's gotten rid of as soon as possible.

After no luck getting an appointment through the national phone number, I called the Northridge Office on Nordhoff directly. It was so easy, quick, and Annie was WONDERFUL!! I had to talk/see a person for my survivor's benefit and could not apply online. I am so grateful for Annie taking care of me today. THANK YOU

This office they make the customers to wait to long in line and the service is to slow very slow. They should put at least a canopy tent in the line area. One person almost past out due to the heat. The line area is expose in a heat of the sun. Time check is 12:17noon but they let people to fall in line under the heat of the sun.πŸ₯΅

Rude, Horrible customer service. Sent in my passport to change my name on the social security and they still wrote it incorrectly. When I called in to complain, the representative said I should just keep the name that they gave me because "its only one letter in the first and one letter from the last name". She was very rude!! Also, do not send in your passport card to make any changes, since it doesn't scan well in their system and they don't bother looking at the application you sent in with the passport.

Wow, I had the best experience ever. This was my first visit to this location and the staff was polite and worked hard getting us thru the line and taken care of as efficientl as possible. I got to the window, I had my documents, and it was quick, painless, and very helpful. I expected a hectic stop but it went smoothly without crowding while keeping social distancing. Thank you all for the care you took.

How often do you come out of a Federal office with a smile on your face? The security guard at the door this morning was a pleasure to be greeted by. Also the wait wasn’t too long and the clerk that saw to me was efficient. All together, much less of a nightmare than I had feared!

I was impressed by how these employees are handling the pandemic situation. I called to make appointment, which they gave me right away, showed up for my appointment, and was out of there within 30 minutes. the security guard lets one or two people at a time, which is good if you are avoiding crowds like I am. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE YELLED AT, DO YOUR JOB - MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, SHOW UP ON TIME, AND LET THE GUARD DO HIS/HER JOB!! SIMPLE AS THAT, STOP BEING SO ENTITLED!!

  • 1/5 Bryce M. 2 years ago on Google
Security guard was so rude. Practically yelled at us to make an appointment, though we came peacefully. I saw him treating the next three people the same way, as if we were some kind of threat. I called the number they gave us to make an appointment. The number wasn't taking calls. When I spoke to them over the phone earlier in COVID they were so impatient and didn't really help me with my questions. They mentioned a drop box for the documents, but couldn't find the drop box anywhere on site. They were closed and didn't really want to help most people.

They do not care at all. They do not answer the phone. I think it is time to fire everyone and start over. Useless, rude and incompetent that is being nice! The automated operators are useless and are a diversionary tactic to not help. They have enough people to put on three phones or more and they are deathly afraid of having to do the job they get paid to do. They do not rate any star at all.

Called in today at the last minute of my lunchbreak, and Reginal ( Hope got his name right) replied. He was not professional identifying his name, I had to ask. BUT, was very professional and he really knew his work and made very good suggestions what to do. Let’s see how it goes when I go in there, since he said I don’t need an appointment. So far so good! πŸ‘
