We chose lost campers as they seemed to be the most affordable rental company in Cali and are so glad we did. We had our lovely van (Joyce) for 6 weeks and drove through 9 different states across the US. The van itself is perfect - lost campers provide everything you could need, the van drove well and there were no issues with its performance. We had an issue midway through with a smashed windshield which could have been quite stressful, but lost campers were easy to get a hold of and were able to quickly organise a replacement appointment at no cost to us (we had max insurance cover). The customer service team respond to emails rapidly and answer any queries or concerns, everyone we spoke to, including the owner were very personable and helpful. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to rent a camper and we struggle to see why anyone would want/need to go with one of the bigger companies. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful experience with Lost Campers! Clear and honest communication with prompt response to our mails. We appreciated the vehicle discretion, the confortable mattress and the easy kitchen set up. We rented a Campervan for 25 days through San Francisco, Road 1, Los Angeles and National Parks without thinking of the rising Miles. We would definitely recommend them to anyone and will choose them for our future adventures (because adventure never ends).

Can't say enough about the Lost Campers van rental in April 2022. For the price paid the vans are super equipped for whatever you have in your camping mind. We are an older couple and still the Caravan size sufficed for us. Van was a pleasure to drive---stealth van style---freeway, switchbacks or campground. Good people to chat with, family owned, and they will help set up your adventure.

Awesome experience, would definitely rent again! But be sure to pay San Francisco toll ahead of time because the vans don’t have easy pass. It’s only mentioned in the binder once and I wish it had been posted more visibly, bummer cause they will add a service charge. Regardless, we had a great time and they even got a very important bag back to me that I had left in the van! Thank you!

10/10 recommend renting through Lost Campers for anyone looking to experience van life while traveling. You can’t beat the price especially when you consider the unlimited miles. Our original travel plans got derailed due to a storm so we had to drive farther distances than originally planned. Thankfully we didn’t have to calculate our miles or even think about them in order to do so. The customer service is fantastic throughout the entire process: booking, pickup, provided documents, questions, drop off, etc. We have rented cargo vans that were built out in the past and were curious to see how a minivan would stack up against them. We didn’t notice any amenities lacking from the switch and particularly enjoyed the backrests from the backseats when retiring for the night. We suggest going with the Sierra model (at the minimum) because of the sink, which is a game changer. If we ever fly into one of Lost Campers’ hubs, we will definitely be renting from them again and loved supporting their family owned/operated business.

We had a wonderful experience and I have suggested this already to many folks. I know this is a hard time for small business efforts and so I encourage you to sign up as soon as you can when they reopen after the shutdown for the virus. The Staff was VERY helpful and went out of their way to serve our needs. The van was ready and clean. We had one small problem with the water pump and they fixed it right away. Gas milage was great.

Wow! Took an epic three week long journey around the Southwest in one of Lost Campers older vans, "Jentastic" and couldn't be more pleased. The trip, in the middle of this pandemic, was so healing - being able to safely explore vast expanses by having our whole home contained within the van was a lifesaver. We got the budget option, so van was older and a bit beat up, but that was totally fine with us and did the job. The folks at Lost Campers were very helpful and communicative. I have no doubt we will use them again!

I loved my camper van from Lost Campers because it is stealthy and minimal but also has everything you need. Pickup and drop off were crazy easy. I just showed up, grabbed my key out of the lockbox, and drove off. I had a great trip to Yosemite! They also offer unlimited mileage which you won’t find anywhere else. These guys are the best van rental I’ve found so far.

Had an amazing trip in our Lost Campers van! It came with everything we needed—a stove, mattress, cookware, and even a sink in the back. It was easy to pack up and set up the bed each night, so we were able to cover a lot of miles without the hassle of setting up a tent each day. For the amount of miles on the vehicle, the van was in great shape. We will definitely rent again!

We rented a Sierra van for 7 weeks and had an awesome time! The van was a great way to travel through the USA. As the van does not look like an RV you can camp incognito in more urban area’s. On the other hand for campgrounds, the van comes with basic camping gear so we were able to camp comfortably. We had one issue with the stove, but Lost campers helped us out swiftly. Their communication is excellent. What liked most about the van is the great mattress and the sink with water pump.

We rented the Redwood for 3 weeks during our trip on the westcoast. It was great! From the van itself, the amenities such as dual battery for electric cooler, the bed( fits 6'4) and the communication everything went smooth.

Amenities are a bit basic, but you get a lot for the low price. Had 3 great weeks in one of their vans. We required their service a few times on the road and were helped very quickly and friendly, highly recommended!

Had the best experience with Lost Campers now twice and have been recommending to all my friends. As an outdoor enthusiast but a little intimidated for full backpacking, van camping offers the perfect in between. Lost Campers employees are friendly and helpful, and both times the process has been seamless. The freedom to drive anywhere and have everything included is absolutely amazing. Will certainly continue using this service as prices are more than reasonable for the value!

A perfect van for a perfect trip. Everything was easy with Lost Campers. We didn't miss anything, the equipment was complete (if you could add a vegetable peeler, it would be perfect). I definitely recommend. I hope to come back one day.

By far the worst experience with a camper van rental ever! Our vehicle broke the very first day 5 hours after hitting the road. We understand this is something that can happen, but we definetly did not understand the bad service of the company in providing a solution. First of all we had to "argue" with a very unfriendly lady which apparently is the owner for everything, even the most common things to provide in a situation like that. We were forced to make ourselves the way back to San Francisco from the Sequoias NP to pick up a new car to be able to continue our trip, losing lots of time, reservations inside campsides (if you have tried you'll know how hard it is to get them), as the company did not want to bring the car to Fresno, which should be the right thing to do in a case like that. The new car we got was as old as the first one, making you feel unsafe the whole trip. For me the worst of this whole experience, is the horrible feeling & time they made us go through. Feeling that even though paying full insurance coverage, the company does not have your back and you have to argue for 2 whole days with a very unfriendly lady, who constantly was threatening to cancel our booking and not provide a solution at all, is just not how we like to spend our holidays. We will never use this company again, nor recommend it to anyone. I hope our feedback helps you to improve your service for further clients you may have. P.D. In response to the part of your response where you say " I conveniently left some thing out here" I will say, you are right. I thought it was maybe too much to our complain to include the fact that we booked this van with almost a year in advance, and that early february this year we were forced to e-mail you to change slightly our dates (due to the flight company cancelled our flights and we had to book new ones) and also we asked in the same e-mail to upgrade our booking to a superior type of van. We have a confirmation from you Nick in february that our requested changes where well noted but when we went in october to pick up the van, nothing was changed in your sistem. We had to stick with the first option of the older car (because you where at that point fully booked), despite of all the extra time we had to spend in our office, as a new contract had to be issued. Our anger and dissappointment in your service is more than justified. Again, we only leave comments behind to help you improve a service. It's up to you if you consider this a constructive response or not.

We rented this van over a time period of 3,5 weeks. The booking, signing of the documents and pickup was very easy and fast. The campervan ran without any problems throughout our trip (about 3000 miles). Would recommend this small company to anyone in doubt :)

I wanted to love our van. The van we received was an older model which is ok if the inverter or ANY of the 3 auxiliary power outlets (cigarette lighters) in the van worked. They did not work. The van was old enough that there was no USB ports and none of the 12vdc inputs work. We had planned a camping trip for 10 days with no means to charge any of our electronics on the trip. We also booked the van for 2 people and received a tent on top (which we would never have used). This meant we had no awning for shade. The mattress, pillows, chairs, table, and cookware were all very worn. Some chipped. Some didn't work. The captains driver chair was held together with zip tie. We had to turn the AC unit in the van off when we drove up any hill. Ultimately, our trip was twice the amount because we ended up booking cabins every night instead of sleeping in the van at our RV places. If we had known, we would have just rented a small vehicle with great gas mileage.

We traveled for a long time with a Lost Campers van with a roof tent and were very happy. The roof tent was a bit old and cumbersome, but we never had a problem with the car and most importantly, the service was exceptional. The price was very fair and we felt very comfortable with the friendly people, everything went smoothly. Thank you for everything!
