I’ve been using Hometown for about six years now. In that time they built my deck, installed a stone patio, built retaining walls, cut down trees, ground out a huge stump, installed drains, and done yearly mulching. They are always on-time, clean up the work site, and most importantly- do the work professionally. I only wish they did interior work as well, as that level of quality workmanship can be hard to find. I’ve never had an issue with Hometown. Would recommend without hesitation.

I utilized Hometown Landscape to install a french drain along the side of my house which helped address a long-standing water issue. The process was outstanding from start to finish. Besides providing quality work, I found it to be at a very reasonable price. However, what I appreciated the most was the great communication from their team. Matt H. provided timely and helpful information relating to my inquiries and helped ensure that I got the end result that I expected. I will certainly look to Hometown again for any exterior landscaping work. It is clear that they care a great deal about their project quality and their customers.

I donʻt leave reviews often, but Hometown Landscape deserves it! This company is not only the best landscaping company I have ever worked with (and I used to work in landscaping) but its the best company that I have worked with in recent memory. Exception customer service and exceptional quality. As we were getting our house ready to sell, we needed a ton of work done in a very short amount of time and they knocked it out with time to spare. We actually had to leave town after we had fresh sod put in, so the owner of the company offered to personally water our lawn for us so the sod didnʻt die. Dead grass would kill our listing pictures and would obviously turn off potential buyers. Not only is the owner a top notch professional, but his crews work like machines. The are extremely efficient yet cautious, all while being personable.. I canʻt recommend this company enough. Hire them, the will not disappoint you!

I had several problems and they still have not been resolved, even though I have contacted them several times. I had two different jobs I had them do. Neither one was completely satisfactory.

Hometown did an amazing job with both our landscaping and retaining walls. In our new home we did not have a developed landscape and John was able to look at our yard and design a usable space for us. We now have retaining walls to assist with erosion in the yard and flower beds that we can maintain. Hometown did a wonderful job with a well thought out process to ensure we knew every step and the care our landscaping would need once they were gone. Will use again in the Spring for a paver patio project.

Sorry - long post- Landscaping issue: I want to warn my neighbors and friends, (as I wish I had been warned) so they won’t go down this same path. Hometown Landscape and Tree Service, in BURTONSVILLE, MD is a company that does NOT stand by their written agreements. I had utilized them two times previously. But this experience will prevent me for ever contracting them again. I had expensive planting of mature trees and plants, cleaning of garden beds, seeding and mulching done. They came and left without speaking to me. No instructions! Instinctively I knew everything should be watered daily. Reached out to Jeff, my sales rep immediately with my concerns, as one tree didn’t look from the beginning, he said water every other day. That didn’t seem right so I continued to water daily. During a three week period I complained this tree wouldn’t make it. I heard from operations manager, it’s my negligence and therefore they are not honoring the replacement for this tree. I have cut this story down because it’s not necessary to document how many times we went back and forth. Bottom line..they are not a quality company and had no problem cashing my check!

Hometown Landscape exceeded expectations - professional service, wonderful designer Tony Smouse and fantastic crew who created a beautiful walkway for our home. I highly recommend them!

Management is a joke they treat there workers like slaves how are they suppose to hold there needs to use the bathroom and treat so poorly low pay and they are the backbone to make the company succeed they do great work but need a better company so they can with there career

I used this company to simply plant three azaleas. I apparently got the jv team because the shrubs were planted too close together and too close to existing shrubs. I have now waited 6 weeks for them to come fix their mistake and I keep getting the song and dance… “we’re behind because of rain…” “… we haven’t forgotten you…” “… we’ll try to be out this week…” this company is not the only one in the DMV that does landscaping. Look elsewhere!

Very professional from start to finish! First, I was very impress with Jeff (designer), who came to my house to do an assessment and gave the estimate. Jeff is quite knowledgeable on landscape design and gave advice that make sense (comparing to other company who will just do what customer asked without giving any thought). The quote that received from Hometown is quite reasonable, considering the quality of work and service that they provide. After signing the contract, Melissa from the sales office followed up with the scheduling on when the work will get done. She is very responsive to my emails and phone calls. Just great communication overall. First phase of my backyard project is to clear the land (a.k.a. jungle behind my fence) and seed the area. On the day of the appointment, the crew came to start the work bright and early. The crew supervisor (Elmer) was very friendly, professional and accommodating to my ad-hoc request. The crew worked fast, efficient and cleaned up everything when they were done. And by the end of the day, my backyard looks awesome. Now I have additional 30' of space to build my shed, firepit, etc. I'll definitely have Hometown coming to do my second phase of my backyard renovation in the Spring. (to be continued ...)

We worked with Tony. Carlos was the crew supervisor for the job. They excavated approx. 2,400 sq. ft. of gravel driveway, added leafgro and topsoil, and installed sod. Also removed 6 fence posts. The results were simply terrific. Well beyond expectations. In 4 1/2 hours this new beautiful lawn area, with perfect contours and drainage was created. We worked closely with the crew to tweek the design as the work progressed. Hometown Landscape is highly recommended. They were low price - by a lot!

We are extremely pleased with the work we have had done by Hometown Landscaping. Several years ago we had new pavers added to the front of our home and it looks great! We were so pleased that we contracted with Hometown again last month to have our yard landscaped with new sod. It looks amazing! They also mulched and cleaned up our flower beds. We can't say enough good words for Elmer and his crew - they were hard working and a pleasure to work with. Such a terrific experience. We won't hesitate to contact Hometown for future work.

Hometown was very responsive to all of my requests, and worked with all of the delays that came in from my side (a much delayed shed installation from other folks that took months longer than expected). The guys who did both the patio install and the landscaping were very professional and cleaned up after beautifully after everything was done. They paid great attention to detail, and we are very happy with what we got.

I would like to say this crew is very professional and dosent waste anytime when it comes to work. Roy is a very very kind and understanding owner, only boss I’ve seen that’ll get down an help his crew. Much respect for y’all guys
