Excellent service. Waitress overheard birthday and gave us free dessert. Okay food. Salmon and schnitzel overcooked. Cabbage rolls average. Hungarian goulash delicious and served in cool bowl. Appetizers were good. Nice wines but expensive. Cream of Mushroom and polenta just average. Desserts slightly above average.

So glad that we came to this place for dinner. Perfect after touring around on a chilly rainy day. Decoration is very cute. All the dishes were great and were served very promptly after ordering. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends who are visiting the area.

This is a must if your craving Authentic home cooked Mediterranean and European food! It's fully family owned and still has recipes that are hand cooked by the Grandma! Get it while it's good! The experience was beyond what I was expecting even with the longer wait time. It's expected when your able to taste the love in each bite. We started with the stuffed mushrooms and the feta cheese makes it so delicious 😋. My Main course was the Romanian Mititei which is homemade sausages! So tender and juicy! If you want to be treated like a guest of honor and family at the same time this place knows how to make the ambiance and hospitality welcoming!

Everything about this restaurant is 5 stars! The food, the staff, and the atmosphere are amazing! My family loves to order it as take-out and it’s just as good when dining it. The staff were all super nice and patient. The food is drool-worthy and makes you want more! The pizza, bread appetizer, salmon, beef soup and crepes are my top favs!

I'm new to Tampa Bay, so I Googled restaurants in the area after a comedy show and found this place. I had no idea it was authentic Romanian food! I'm first generation American, my parents/family are from Romania lol So, I was obviously very excited to have a home cooked meal! (I don't live close to my mother) My friends and I enjoyed everything we had! Fresh tasty ingredients and big Romanian portions 😄. The service was impeccable. Felt like home. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Love love love the food and the charm. I ate outside and thought it was a wonderful. Kinda thought the prices coulda been higher. I had and what is shown is the stuffed mushrooms and Romanian Stew. If you don’t like this place then you should never leave Olive Garden again.

For Friday night we were looking for a place to have dinner and we searched for a place around and came across Chanta European Cuisine. We were greeted by our server Matias with water and menu. After browsing through the menu we decided to order Garlic Bread, Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken and Chicken Paprikas. First we got our grilled bread. The bread was hot and grilled well. We loved the grilled bread. Then we got our caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh and prepared well with all the ingredients. Then we got our Chicken Paprika. One of the best chicken dish we had. The taste was delicious and tasty. Loved the food, Definitely try Chicken Paprika at this restaurant.

Delicious food , highly recommend the Romanian stew and eggplant salad with bread. Very cozy interior, the smell of the furniture reminded me of my childhood at grandma's house. Enjoyed the relaxing classical music.

Chanta is a Mediterranean family restaurant, and I'm delighted to have stumbled upon it. For a solo evening, I chose a seat at the bar, and immediately, I sensed a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bartender took some time to chat with me about the restaurant's history. This is something I always treasure when dining at family-owned establishments. Now, about the food – I opted for the Smoked Salmon, and while I expected a bit of saltiness given the nature of the dish, it seemed to have an extra layer of seasoning that pushed it a tad over the salty edge for my taste. However, the meal ended on a sweet note with a delightful dessert that added a lovely finishing touch to my solo dinner. All in all, I want to return to Chanta and explore a different dish. Here's a quick rundown of what I ordered: Bruschetta with Tomato and Basil: A fresh and delightful starter. Smoked Salmon Pasta: A bit on the salty side, but perhaps my next choice will be more to my liking. Donuts: A delectable treat to satisfy my sweet tooth.

A cute, cozy restaurant for sure. Being of Eastern European heritage, I really wanted to support this business and was excited to try different versions of foods I grew up eating. We tried to order an appetizer and were informed by the server that two of the appetizers were out even though it was 5:30pm. We ordered the chicken paprikash, sausages, ribs and pizza for our kids. The dumplings and sauce for the paprikash were delicious. The chicken had an odd texture, it was almost firm. The sausages were very good as were the fries. The ribs and the sauce that accompanied it was very salty but the ribs were very tender. The kids liked the pizza. Overall, it was an okay experience. I wish it was more refined for the price.

Yup, definitely authentic European cuisine! From goulash soup, to chicken paprika, unique wines, non-traditional appetizers, and extremely tender lamb. Very nice vibe and ambiance. Great for a dinner date or corporate outing.

Authentic and delicious. We had the goulash and Romanian cabbage rolls and they were outstanding. We shared the fried zucchini and eggplant and the creamy mushrooms which were extremely flavorful. We ended up ordering the Romanian doughnuts to go because we were so full and they did not disappoint! Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff!

I went to Chanta for the first time this week and will definitely be back. I had the goulash as well as two desserts. The papanashi is so good that I had wished I ordered two. Highly recommend coming here.

There should be more than a five star rating for Chanta. We felt like we were stepping into a quaint European restaurant...Run by family. We were visiting Tampa from Buffalo New York and checked out Google reviews for nearby restaurants and Chanta came up. FIVE STARS Five stars.... no surprise here. We had the Hungarian goulash, calzone, Caesar...the dough was to die for!!! Service outstanding too!

Quick google search landed us at this absolute GEM of a restaurant. I felt like we were transported to Europe the moment we entered the door. The ambiance, the friendly staff, even grandma came out to say hello at the end of the night! The food…just amazing! Best meal we’ve had in a long, long while. The ghoulash, the panasi, the Chicken dish…all incredible! As well as the eggplant spread. OH, and they bake the bread fresh in house when you order! And it shows. The whole restaurant is a gem and you will not be disappointed. Just go and thank us later 🤗

What a sweet gem I found. Quaint and unique menu. We had the goulash and the weiner schnitzel. For desert we had the donuts, the raspberry sauce was out of this world. The service was great, I love how they are not hovering over you and you don't feel rushed. Truly authentic European spot.

This quaint restaurant is filled with Old World charm and fabulous food. Our waitress made us feel like part of the family sitting down for a home cooked feast. The menu is filled with so many authentic European dishes to choose from, which makes the effort to choose just one extremely difficult. Luckily for me our waitress presented a special with lamb chops, bacon wrapped asparagus, and rice with wild mushrooms. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. If I lived in the Tampa area, i would definitely become a regular. As it is, I cannot wait to visit Tampa again to get the chance to experience this place again.

Don’t get me wrong, the food was great. Service on the other hand— was completely unacceptable. It took Matis 30 minutes to bring us drinks (wine) and it took an hour for our food, from the moment we ordered; so beware and be patient. Although the food was good, it was disappointing seeing how attentive our server was to the tables indoors and not us (seated outside) but we were told by the hostess they were ‘short staffed’. For a table for four, we also received bills with an AUTOMATIC GRATUITY? Seemed a bit inappropriate and odd especially since we were not given proper service. Regardless I definitely would go again, and would pray for a better experience..but I can not deny I enjoyed my cabbage rolls, Gulash, the home made bread and the Panashi!!

What a fantastic experience. Stepping into this establishment you’ll immediately notice the ambience of this family run restaurant is extremely welcoming as are all the staff and will make you feel right at home 🤌. As far as the food goes, it is phenomenal. The Hungarian goulash is incredible, and served in a stylish manner. The Saccottini Vanessa pasta is absolutely mouthwatering with that creamy truffle sauce 🤤 and the homemade bread and olive oil is a great touch. 5 stars all the way

Everything was great from beginning to end. I do not have any complaint about this nice restaurant. We took my wife to celebrate her birthday and I have to say that we're coming back. Thanks!!!!!!!

The food here was amazing. We went for a random date night and the food and atmosphere did not disappoint. I forget the exact name of the chicken (second picture) but it was amazing. I unfortunately did not write the review the same day and thus forgot the name. I guess I should go back to check. This is a great find and will be back for sure.

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my sister’s 40th birthday with friends. We had a reservation but still waited quite a while to be seated. The atmosphere is so charming and warm inside, and outside looked cute and fun as well. There were 7 of us, so we all got to try different dishes and share bites. Everything was delicious. But the general consensus was that the Saccottini Vanessa (oh gosh, to die for) and the Chicken Paprikash (so delish!) were the best entrees. Our favorite appetizer was the stuffed mushrooms. Least favorites were the fried eggplant/zucchini appetizer, and the schweine schnitzel was just good, not great. I ate the shrimp pasta dish, and it was very good, that homemade pasta is just amazing. I can’t wait to go back on a date night with my husband and try more of the dishes. This was such a fun and delicious experience! Took pics with the grandparents at the end and they were so sweet. Loved the feel of this place and the food was on point.

We first ordered the Frittura Di Mare appetizer (3rd picture) which was very savory & satisfying along with two glasses of CA mont Sangue that our very helpful and kind server Haley was able to recommend us this amazing sweet red wine. They also provided us with some delicious bread that paired with a herb and oil dip that was very good. We would definitely recommend the Chicken Paprikash (2nd photo) as it was very delicious. The Pappardelle Bolognese (1st photo) was good however we wished there was more cheese on it. Overall, we would highly recommend Chanta and will definitely eat here again.

We stumbled on this beautiful gem last night and can’t wait to go back to try everything on the menu! The food was excellent! So fresh and delicious! You can tell that a lot of thought and love went into planning that menu. We sat outside because it was a gorgeous evening but the inside is full of elegant charm. They have an extensive wine list, including a generous selection of Romanian/European options. Chanta provides the perfect atmosphere for a memorable date night - we are already planning our next visit!

Chanta is a charming European restaurant offering you food you may find in homes all across Europe. Between the decor, home style cooking, and the cozy feeling, it’s almost as if a family had invited you into their home. The food was amazing and you can feel the love in it only generational recipes can provide. Still dreaming about their cappuccino and papanashi!

Perfect place for date night. Traditional Romanian and European cuisine. Romantic atmosphere. Delicious and unique dishes to choose from. Great selection of Romanian wine. Wonderful dining experience.

What a truly special place! I am embarrassed that we did not know this wonderful restaurant existed. Chanta is this amazing upscale restaurant cooked by the family we wish we all had when it comes to food. Vanessa greeted us at the door and was our hostess and waitress. She knew everything about each dish and each wine ( I found wonderful new wines I never knew existed). Her parents and grandparents were cooking. And man they can cook. Started with cheese bread and eggplant spread… best ever!! We then had lamb and chicken dishes…. Can not wait to go back!!!

I’ve always walked by and wanted to try this place, so I finally made a reservation and came on a weeknight. I was told the restaurant is family owned and operated serving traditional eastern European dishes. I ordered the Schweine schnitzel with creamy mushrooms, and the eggplant spread. Everything exceeded my expectations and surprisingly was able to eat most of it. I’d love to come back and order the lamb, which requires 24 hours advance notice. I’ve been told by my neighbor that it is to die for!

This is one of the type of places I love to go to to get away from being forced to eat typical pasta, steak and fish. This is an authentic Romanian restaurant. But that should not scare you at all. The dishes are wonderfully savory, but not at all intimidating. The palate is akin to Eastern Europe, Russian and the Mediterranean rim. The decor feels true to the concept and I loved being able to easily converse without fighting with overwhelming noise around me. Please go here and expand your food experience.

This is a little hidden gem. Great service! Romantic yet home-like atmosphere. So much so that the grandparents and parents are behind the counter cooking authentically. The server told us that most of the ingredients are as fresh and locally sourced as possible. First time trying Romanian food and it was amazing!! Eggplant spread for an app was simple but rich. Chicken paprikash was so good, this was just stick to your ribs delicious food. Again I have not had Romanian wine, but the Spiel was so intriguing and different. Assortment of Eastern European wines to explore. We did not even try the desserts but they sounded different and delicious. So many reasons to go back.

Chanta is a very elegant place. I love the soft instrumental background music. The staff is very professional and the place is clean. Is a small place with limited tables so please do a reservation online. My daughter loved the lemonade! I really enjoyed the Tiramisu cake, the 3 cheese bread and the cappuccino!

We were visiting Tampa and stumbled upon this Jem, family owned and were the nicest people. Everything was absolutely amazing! The home made bread was next level, fresh made from scratch family recipes. An absolute must try if you're in the Tampa area.
