There are two waterfalls here. Getting here was trippy. Reading the other reviews, I agree that GPS/Google will take you through a neighborhood of extremely tight and windy roads. I'm not sure two way traffic is meant for this road, but they make it work. The road dead ends and there was the most incredible lady there (along with a ton of other folks just enjoying their day) guiding traffic and helping with parking. Since there's a mountain next to a one lane road next to a flowing river, it's tight parking. She was extremely helpful and from what I understand this is private property/parking and she's just doing this so things flow better. I believe it was $3 to park. Tip her. We walked the path to the first water fall and as I'm setting up the tripod to take photos, a gentleman came up to us, showing us photos on his camera of the 2nd waterfall. He only spoke Spanish and sadly I didn't understand him, but I understood he was showing me that there was a huge waterfall just up the river a bit. The locals are so proud of their area and eager to show their beautiful island to others. We waded the river about 7 minutes (we're in our 50's, if you're younger you'll go faster) to get to the other fall. The river is slippery and tricky rocks. Wear appropriate shoes. I'm so glad we made the trek, the 2nd fall is absolutely gorgeous! Folks were playing around in the pool below it...just gorgeous. On our way out we met another local who was extremely friendly and we struck up a conversation with him. He explained that if the water from the fall ever turns brown, get out of the river. It's a result of it having rained up the mountain and debris is being washed down. I thought that was extremely helpful advice.

Tremendous experience with nature. Nothing to spend to enjoy. Walk of between 20 to 30 minutes. Bring comfortable and extra clothing in case you go into the river like us and good tennis shoes.

You are probably looking to go to the waterfall so search for this on the map "Primera Cascada de La planta" that will take you straight to a parking area where they charge $5 dollars. The first waterfall is a short walk from where you park, the second more impressive fall is a few mins up river. The hike there is not too challenging. The hike is going to be the funnest part of the journey. Bring your phones the pic spots are great

Google maps took us through a shady neighborhood. Getting to the end of the road some drunk guy with a beer in his hand came up to the car telling us that β€œtourists need to respect and they broke the last guys arms that didn’t”. We left at that point.

Keep in mind, you are visiting the homes and residences of others. DO NOT THROW TRASH. ALWAYS BRING A TRASH BAG AND CARRY IT WITH YOU. A little adventure. Wear water shoes, the stones are slippery. But, the adventure is worth it. The walk is about 5 - 10 minutes, depending on your stamina.

Maybe this was cool once upon a time, but this place is a dead end, a bridge is collapsed into the river along with some homes, and like 10 dogs are running around the road. Would not recommend at the moment...

Unique experience, I recommend it to disconnect from the routine. Nothing better than connecting with nature. πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ πŸ§—β€β™€οΈ πŸ€ΏπŸ¦‹πŸŒΏπŸŒ±

Better known as the La Planta de Arecibo River. People go without knowing the history and are generally disappointed with the journey. These waterfalls are created artificially with the aim of creating a hydroelectric plant to obtain renewable energy from the energy that would be generated by the river current. However, the project was abandoned and what remains are the ruins. The deterioration of the infrastructure is so great that the bridge that led to the second waterfall fell and now it is very dangerous to cross. Puerto Rico has many resources and I think it is time to start proposing renewable ideas for our country.
