Great place! The staff is knowledgeable and goes out of their way to listen to your needs and educate you so your tank is successful. I trust their judgment and really appreciate their honesty. The owner is phenomenal and really cares about his customers. I am "hooked" on this company!

Best saltwater fish/fish supply store in town. Everyone is really helpful. They have a great supply of saltwater fish, crustaceans, aquariums, sumps, sand, and salt. Whatever you need, they have it or can get it. Sometimes, I just stop by to walk around and look at all of the fish. It is very relaxing. I always feel so calm when I leave.

Great everything! You want a high end light or pump they got it. Want a top of the line aquarium and all of the fixings they got it. Want bright vibrant coral they got it. Beautiful fish! Perfect staff! Great place!

My family and I stopped in here once when we were staying at a hotel down the street and were contemplating buying tropical fish. We didn't buy anything, because we had no way of transporting any fish to where we then lived, which was about three hours away. However, I will say that Southwest Reef has an extensive selection of fish and supplies. The staff was friendly and helpful as I recall. It's worth dropping by sometime just to see what they have available.

Nothing but good things to say about this establishment. Been in the reefing world for 15+ years. By far the cleanest tanks I have seen. Ordered a monster of a tank 1 week ago and just got confirmation from shipping company it will be here Monday. 8 days after ordering. If you want salt water livestock/equipment don't waste your time going elsewhere

This place is excellent. They mainly only do salt water. But Robert still took the time to explain what my fresh water take needed. He even sent me home with a schedule (a treatment plan) of what I would need to do to help with the problems I'm having! Super helpful! Highly recommended!

Robert and his team have been really helpful and answered a TON of questions. Southwest Reef Co has a well earned reputation. The store is always clean and the animals always look great. Robert has been super honest and I believe the he and his team have the welfare of the animals as their first priority. I could not be happier. I'll be returning for as long as I am in the hobby.

Rob is great. Livestock selection is excellent and extremely well cared for. He's happy to special order anything you want. Prices are high, but I'm used to San Diego. So, I think that's reasonable considering he's got higher costs and lower volume sales to contend with vs a major coastal city.

Best selection of saltwater fish. Great source for pumps and other tank accessories and necessities. Awesome people who work there as well always so helpful and willing to give the best care and advice tips for taking care of your fish after you bring it home.

Rob (the owner) is always fantastic, and all the staff is happy, friendly and very knowledgeable. The store is constantly only improving. They have plenty of coral, more inverts and a TON of fish. They tend to have a lot of uncommon frags, colonies and fish; a lot can be kept in upwards of 5000 gallons. This is my go to reef shop in Albuquerque; there is no better than Southwest Reef.

Rob and his crew carry a vast selection of livestock, whether it be coral, fish, or inverts. They also between the number of them have an array of experience and information to offer. Don’t have a tank or a beginner? Don't be afraid to just stop by or call.

Very helpful. They carry freshwater equipment and supplies, but they don't carry freshwater fish. Their salt water fish look amazing and healthy. We bought sponge filters, tubing, algae scrapers and foreceps. Everything is high quality and wasn't overpriced.
