Best saltwater store in the DMV! The owner (Ben) is very knowledgeable about everything you need to know to start, upgrade, or just need advice on anything reef related! They have premium corals you don’t see anywhere else around here. Corals are clean of pests and very vibrant as well as all of their marine life! Definitely a place worth checking out and spending your time and money too.

I went into this store last week to check it out. My man at the front door (Ben) just looked at us when we walked in, didn’t say anything… can I help you, are you looking for anything in particular, nothing. Not even a hi or hello. First red flag for me. Walked around and looked at a few things, asked a few questions and could barely get a response. However, the guy who I’m assuming is Moe was really friendly during the checkout process. I found one coral I liked and decided to buy it. Moe was talking to me about a fish that they’ve supposedly had for 3 months and no one wanted it because it isn’t a reef safe fish. Told me a price for the fish and told him I had to talk to my husband. He said if you come back tell Ben that I said 10 percent off if you buy it. I sent my husband in for the fish today, he was told a higher price and he (Ben, Moe wasn’t there) wouldn’t budge off of his made up price or honor the 10 percent off I was promised. Shady store. I was warned by another local fish store about this place and their shadiness and prices all over the place. Other store said they personally know someone who has gone in earlier in the day and we’re given a price on something - changed clothes and went back and we’re given a totally different price. Should’ve listened from the start but was just trying to give the fish a good home. Never again.

My favorite saltwater store. Ben and Mo are always extremely helpful. I'm new to the hobby and they were able to help me get things started with supplies and info. I was able to cycle a tank without any issues and have been adding things slowly with their input. The fish and coral have been doing great and the selection is always awesome. Extremely lucky to have them in the area.

This place has one of the nicest corals/frags collections, by far! People in the store are very knowledgeable and willing to help you understand how to care for the corals and fish you are getting. Like others say, you are definitely getting quality here, really healthy frags! If you are looking for rare finds, you’ll have a great time here.

This is now my go-to shop for all things saltwater fish tank. Of all shops I've been, this has been one of the best places. - Very knowledgeable from a combination of past experience with conversation with actual marine biologists, and consumption of research literature. - Livestock is great quality and reliable - all fish, coral, inverts have been very healthy - Not run by "bros" - there are many shops in the DMV area run by bros who seem to talk a good game but don't take the business seriously. Supreme reefs is not that kind of place.

My whole family are huge fans. Whenever I want to make my 7yo budding marine biologist son extremely happy, I just mention that we are going to supreme reefs! It is hard to imagine a better shop, well worth the 40 mins from DC. So knowledgeable, so nice and helpful, and also just an awesome place to visit and explore. Thanks guys for running a one of a kind business.

The Supreme Reef is my favorite fish store though it is more than 1hr drive for me. I visited the store this week. Ben and Kirby helped me pick some beginner coral. They were very knowledgeable and patient. I was overwhelmed by the variety of coral in the store. They gave me super helpful educative session on how to gradually get into the world of coral. Can’t thank them more! I also saw Ben cutting and fragging coral in a “laboratory cart”. That was fun too! I hope to stop by again some time soon! ❤️

The setup and layout is excellent, the selection is large but basic for the most part. The corals that aren’t basic and are “1 of 1” are so over priced I might as well fly to top shelf aquatics and fly back to get the same coral. But idk how they have so much aptasia, and bubble algae. I wouldn’t chance adding these frags to introduce any other pests they have that I wouldn’t be able to see. Many other hobbyist in the area that you can get better corals for better prices. Edit: As an example I got these 4 hammers for less than the price of one 2head hammer at this store.

Awesome shop! Picked up a GSP (they didn’t have any frags when I got there so they cut one from their display tank) already off to a great start! Picked up a Diamond goby and a cleaner shrimp as well! Wish I could give these guys more then 5 stars!

Store is super clean and I love how they have to coral section in the store. But I have to say everything was over priced I seen fish there small size for more than double the price then other stores. I’m not sure on the price of the coral not a coral type of hobbies but I love watching fish. I understand the area they are in maybe that’s why they charge what they do but I went to a store about 15 mins away and seen the same fish for half the price and bigger and they went through a quarantine process. Long story short nice store but over priced fish.

This is such an awesome store! One the cleanest, best organized, best prices I've seen from a LFS. The displays are incredible and beautiful and the staff is great to work with. Ben is such a great person to work with. I can't say enough things about this place. They know what they are doing. Thank you for a great experience

Amazing shop. Super clean tanks and store. Really knowledgeable owners/staff. We drove an hour to get there and want to come by all the time. Really great place for your saltwater tanks and everything you need for them!!

Great saltwater fish store. Ben the owner and Kirby are such great employees. I always enjoy shopping here because of how they take care of their corals and fish. They really do care about not only the quality, but the health of every organism they take in. Would highly suggest to anyone that is in the hobby or looking to get into the hobby to check out the store!

We are lucky in Northern VA to have people like Ben with his knowledge and experience. We got into the hobby because of our love of diving and corals, specifically. Ben was very patient with us in explaining new types of coral we hadn't seen, understanding their origin and temperament, and new ways we could enhance our system without feeling pressured to buy (even though we did end up purchasing quite a few pieces, equipment, supplements...). The variety of soft/LPS he had in stock was the best we've seen in the area and we'll definitely be back.

Been to Supreme Reefs mutiple times now, probably one of the best reef store in the area. Met one of the owners, Ben, he is super nice and professional! He is very knowledgeable and really cares about each coral and fish like they are his own. If you ever have concerns or questions about anything, he is always helpful and does his best to answer them. I would 100% recommend Supreme Reefs to anyone.

This is one of my favorite saltwater aquarium shops in my local area. The store is clean and well organized. Their display tanks are the best. There are a lot of varieties of coral’s available and they are of high quality. The owners are very knowledgeable about everything reef related. They have a pretty good collection of saltwater fishes. It’s your one stop shop for any reefing related livestock or gear.

Hands down best reef store in the area & worth the drive from Alexandria! Started my reef tank in Jan & the help / knowledge that they’ve been able pass along certainly helped me avoid several mistakes. Best yet they’ve been able to help me grow my set up & selection from beginner to increasing the scale & complexity of the selection! Always a joy getting to see the expertise & passion that people pour into things & this shop is a perfect example!

My favorite pastime is visiting Supreme Reef. Beautiful coral. Ben is the best role model, advisor for beginner reefers. I came with zero experience. Anybody can do this hobby with the best shop in the business!

Ben and Mo have the prettiest and healthiest corals. My partner and I always come out here to get new corals because we know the quality will be amazing. Very kind owners, clean stores, so knowledgeable. Definitely in the business to help others develop their tanks, we’ve never felt pressured to buy when we were just browsing.

I just purchased a 20g waterbox from here a few months back, this is my first time doing saltwater so I was very nervous to start but Ben has made the process soo easy! Corals and fish are doing great! Highly recommend this place and especially if you're a first timer this is THE place to go!

Last week I bought a tank and I had no idea what fish and corals I could buy, I went to supreme reefs and the staff has extensive knowledge on the subject and they helped me choose what I should put in my salt water tank considering that my experience is basic (Im a newbie). Recently discovered this place and it is amazing! The owner is very knowledgeable, very helpful, and fun to talk to. They have coral here that I've never seen in any store, and I visited a lot, from Pennsylvania to New Jersey down to North Carolina. Sometimes I'll find some amazing deals and other times I just get advice on how to take care of my new 29G tank. The display tank is mesmerizing and I really enjoye coming here just to look at all the beautiful coral. Attached are pics of 2 pieces I just bought!

This place is fairly new but they are awesome. The staff (owners)Moe and Ben are extremely helpful and genuinely care about the customers and their new pets (family members). I live in Spotsylvania and will make the 1 hour + drive because of the customer service first and product second. I am new to this hobby and they are helping me learn and keep me on track.

Why didn’t I know about this place earlier?! Fantastic selection, the folks working there all have a welcoming attitude and are super helpful! This is my new favorite aquarium shop. I have to drive there all the way from MD, but honestly, I’m more than happy to, this place rocks! They got quality stuff at very reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Won’t be disappointed, it’s a hidden gem! 5/5
