Enrollment with Admin is a smooth process. I just stopped by to ask questions. Not only did I get the answers, but I even got an appointment. Amazing 👏 job. Thank you for serving our veterans.

Not close to a trolley stop like the La Jolla Clinic so a bus or Uber/Lyft might be required, remember though, the VA system offers a shuttle service IF you plan ahead. This VA replaced the one in Mission Valley that was LACKING parking spots. PLENTY of parking spots available here. If you're driving it's not too far from an Amazon grocery pick-up location and a Walmart so I sometimes plan grocery trips around my Kearny Mesa VA appointments. Bicyclists familiar with this area know the local roads may not always have a designated bike lane but they're wide.

I’ve just moved to San Diego from Michigan and I was truly hopeful for better treatment at Kearny Mesa VA, but that’s not the case. I’ve yet to experience a single provider who actually cares or exhibits appropriate bedside manner. I’ve been completely degraded as a human being at this location, especially by “Patient Advocates”.

Only gripe I have with this location is that if you have an appointment at 7:00am, that is exactly when they open the doors at the front. I suggest they open the doors at 6:50am or 6:55am to allow us Veterans to get to the specific department where our appointment will be. Other than that, the facility looks amazing, the staff is very nice and courteous at the early hours of the day and there is plenty of parking and accessibility, especially the drop off for those Veterans that have a hard time walking.

I read review, and I noticed if you don't have many health problems on the surface this facility is great, but if you have health problems or having a crisis fighting for your life...run!!! The worst and ugliest patient care is here PCM are mediocre and negligent, not caring but what is important not knowing what to do, determined not to help even if it doesn't take much...run from this place, it is VA care at its worst....

The VA staff in Kearny Mesa are absolutely the worst and most unprofessional group of "employees" I have encountered. I was made to wait over 4 months, 120 days, until they had "time for me". I called the morning of my appointment letting them know I was going to be late due to unfortunate circumstances, because that's what happens sometimes in people's lives, things happen. I was 37 mins late, but still called in letting them know I was late, and they first marked me down as no call no show, and they said I was unable to be seen until ANOTHER month. I told them no, and proceeded to call another location, which I was able to get a sooner appointment. The Kearny location then called me back asking if I wanted to keep my august 8 appointment with THEM, even after I told them no 20 mins prior. They did NOT pay attention to anything I said, and the lady I spoke with gave me a very rude attitude over the phone telling me "you did say you wanted the August 8 appointment.". So now she knows more of what I said than I do even when I'm the one who told her. Overall, the VA in general is probably worse healthcare than actually forking up hundreds of thousands of dollars, at least then you know you will get what you pay for. Free healthcare, even if it means fighting for your country for it, never will be good healthcare.

The VA moved the clinic from Mission Valley, a convenient and central location, which was easy to get to on the trolley, to this out in the hinterlands location the takes a 2 bus transfer from downtown and a 15 minute hike from the bus stop. Really bad move. I have lost my doctor of 20+ years to move to the VA Hospital in LA Jolla for my care, because it has a convenient trolley stop nearby.

The new office is fantastic. Plenty of parking unlike the old mission valley office. Care is still as good as ever.

I've been in the San Diego V.A. Healthcare system for a little over 20 years. I've also been in the Kaiser system for the past five years through Medicare. How do they compare? Overall, they are about equal, but if I could only have one, I'd choose the V.A. I've been very happy with my doctors and the technicians and I like the small clinic in Sorrento Valley. Kaiser has one thing going for it that the VA doesn't have: an actual emergency room at Zion. The V.A. only has an urgent care in La Jolla. But a few years ago when I suffered a bad crash and was taken by ambulance to the Scripps trauma center, the V.A. paid the entire bill.

I do not know how this place have any ratings above 1 star with the way they are really just bad at their job here. Like they are so short staffer they fill this place up with incompetent ppl that doesnt even know how to schedule someone their appointment and give them a runaround on day of their appointment it doesnt exist. Awful

The Kearny Mesa VA was easy to get to and parking was open. Very clean and better layed out than mission valley. First time appointment at this facility and easy to navigate to clinics. Wasn't crowded at all.

Dr. Ahmed, medical staff, and Health/Benefits & Enrollment did an amazing job! They make veterans feel important and listened to.

SO glad they opened up this location to lighten up the load for VA workers! Super clean and I never have to wait ages to be seen.

Greeted. Covid questions. Mask provided. Gorgeous Facility. Plenty of parking. 2 floors. Bathrooms clean. Technician took care of my issue refilling prescription..

It’s cost the government less money, if they let us die. If my labs are completely out of range why wait 6 months to let me know. Thank god they automatically send the results now. If you total your car and go to the ER , it takes a year for your doctor to return your calls (exactly one year after). Before the physical therapy referral was put in. They want us to die…

This was my first at this particular clinic. It's brand new and better than ever. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Masks are still required, and one was provided for me at the front door. I showed up early, was seen on time, an x-ray was ordered and completed, and I was outta there in less than 30 minutes. I definitely recommend this location for your VA Healthcare needs. Mrs. Jacalan provided excellent service and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction.

I had beautiful doctor Bailey do my regular exam. She is amazing. I also had Retina screen by Jenn. Beautiful facility with excellent service.

Very nice staff. Dental clinic has their equipment now and is fully operational. Radiology is convenient. Optomitry is available and quick to get appointments. The doctor who dose pain or steroid injections gave me one the most complete physical exams I have ever received for joint pain. Dr Bittelman is the best primary care manager I have had for decades in the Millitary medical system. I highly recommend him and his nursing staff. I prefer to get as much of my care here compared to main hospital. I drive farther to this clinic. I get better care!

The new facility is great and the staff friendly as always. If I have anything to be thankful for from my service, its that I have access to these services and doctors. Nice bonus is that the people who draw blood have some serious skills. Didn't feel a thing!

Not a bad hospital, however we is the respect for the military men and women that served and currently serve this country last time I checked we defend and serve the American Flag. This is shameful for military members. As soon as you walk in the Kearny VA this flag stood alone in the VA. I was greatly disappointed. Why do we not have our RED WHITE And BLUE colors the American flag. Military members died if not living life with disabilities for the American flag for Freedom. man that was a slap in the face. They need to take this down and raise up our American Flag. I don’t want to see this flag I never served this flag. I served our nation under God. Take it down.

Amazing Clinic. Podiatry/Specialty Clinic was great! What an amazing facility! William Clark assisted me for my visit. He was very good at his job and had great customer service. It’s good to see that our Veterans Administration works so hard for us in Southern California. Thank you!

I wish I can give them a zero start if I could. Worst customer service with complete irrresponsibility with their work. My wife came to her appointment and had to to wait over 2 hrs without an explanation. Why not the front desk just ask the doc or let someone know they are behind and there literally is someone waiting for 2hrs. Then the front guy reschedules it but messed up and didnt put anythjng in. She drives there and was told no appointment was scheduled. Why are you guys awful and hire these incompetent people????? Is this how you guys treat people? Who is the one in charge??
