The people who work here are very kind, but I was disappointed by the quality of their work. After multiple issues with piercings I received here, I visited another highly regarded piercer on Long Island to troubleshoot. He refused to badmouth another shop, but did professionally advise me of some things that were wrong with piercings I got here at Solid Gold. 1st visit: I had my nose initially pierced at Solid Gold by Kimmy. When visiting my new piercer, he advised that it was pierced crooked so (depending on the jewelry I choose) it will never sit flush against my skin. This is something I had noticed but I thought it was due to my anatomy, I didn’t realize it was due to piercer error. 2nd visit: I met with Tara to have the nose stud changed to a ring. 6 months was the amount of time they advised was appropriate. Tara was unbelievably rough when changing the jewelry—this hurt more than the piercing itself. It was bleeding and swollen after she was done. Surprise: the swelling stayed and it developed an irritation bump. I visited my new piercer to have it changed back to a stud. He advised that I should have waited a year, rather than 6 months. And while he gently removed the ring, it broke in his hands, which also shows the quality of the jewelry that Solid Gold carries. 2nd visit, 3rd issue: On that same visit with Tara, I also had my helix pierced. I was never advised to return for a downsize. After a couple months of issues with this piercing (frequent bleeding, pus, intense swelling despite perfect aftercare), my new piercer advised that it was not infected but this piercing had also been done at an incorrect angle so it was severely irritated, and it would probably never heal. In his opinion, the only appropriate course of action was to remove it, and he refused to touch it otherwise. We removed the piercing and the irritation disappeared shortly after. So yes, the people who work here are kind, but I would not recommend this shop. They led me to deal with months of unnecessary pain, not to mention money wasted. The quality of their work is subpar, which is irresponsible and dangerous.

Came here for the first time at the end of December after always passing by this shop to get my tongue pierced and my experience was just excellent and everything was done so professional. Kimberly explained everything I needed to do and not do with taking care of this piercing and all of it helped in the healing process. I came back again to have my tongue piercing downsized and that experience went great as well. No issues at all. She’s also just such a sweet person in general and definitely recommend her and this shop to those who are looking for a piercing. Will definitely be coming back here for more piercings of mine by Kim!

I come here often to get my piercings, the piercer Tara (@tara_thepiercer on IG for portfolio) is the best piercer I've come across in the Queens and Nassau area, I will never get pierced by anyone else. She is an efficient, honest, clean and professional worker. She is also super cool and down to earth and makes her clients feel as comfortable as possible. Her jewelry is also fairly priced for the quality and she has a good variety of options as far as jewelry as well. She is creative with her work and has amazing suggestions

This was my first time ever getting anything pierced and Kimmy made it a completely comfortable & pleasant experience. She takes the time to explain the whole process to you as well as tells you exactly what she's doing as she's piercing you. Kimmy has amazing bedside manner, more than happy to answer any questions you might have, she's so nice and full of good vibes! I HIGHLY recommend going to her whether you are getting your first piercing or just another one general. She really does a great job. You can tell she's passionate about her work and really cares about her clients. I love my new earrings & nose ring :)

Love this place! The team was high energy and the shop was full of jokes & laughter. My mom & I were nervous to get our bellybuttons pierced, but Tara made us feel so comfortable. She was extremely personable & professional which made it a great experience! Definitely would return ✨

I’ve gotten piercings done here two different times. They do a great job the only problem is that they tell me one price at the register before the body mod, and suddenly it’s more when it’s time to pay. I don’t like the inconsistency of that, if the jewelry is not included in the price or if they already include tip, I’d like to know that from the beginning and not get a surprise up charge when it’s time to pay. Communication is key. I wanted to pay in cash but had to pay in credit card (which is also an extra up charge) because of this.

i come here a lot and i always get my piercings done and changed by Tara. she always knows what she’s doing and she’s done my 2 lip piercing and my other nose piercing today. always helps whenever i need a piercing changed or to any questions i have about anything. always feel comfortable when getting piercing from her because she always knows what she’s doing and is a great person. would highly recommend getting your piercings from her.

Both Tara and Jada were so accommodating; it’s my first time getting a body part pierced and they made me feel very comfortable through the process. They informed me on the sizing based on how my body part is anatomically structured and also about aftercare. They both are very experienced and I would highly recommend getting a piercing from them!

Got some piercings from Kimmy here, lots of jewelry options and she’s done a great job! Sad to see she no longer works at Solid Gold, but came here recently for more piercings and Tara is great as well. Shop is clean. Prices seem to vary according to person/jewelry choices.

I got my belly repierced last July and the belly button ring I purchased from solid gold fell out twice on two different rings I’ve purchased from them. If you want to buy 3 of the same belly rings in a year because of their defective rings by all means.

Got my first tattoo here. Clean environment , professional staff. I told him w h at I wanted and he executed it so brilliantly. I barely felt any pain. I'm ready for ny next.

I will travel from anywhere to come to Solid Gold Tattoo. The only place I’d go to for my piercings. The customer service is top notch and the individuals that work there are probably some of the most kind people you’d ever meet and they’re all insanely talented. I’ve always left this establishment with a smile, highly recommend!!!

Name says it all.. from the staff to the communication and professionalism this tattoo shop stands out above the rest!. Rob is a true talent! Just based off his portfolio I gave him full artistic freedom to choose the image for my throat piece and I am not disappointed! The depth and precision of this piece is amazing! This is the most complimented tattoo I have on me and my upper body is covered!

Friendly staff, Tara is awesome, I love my piercing however over $100 for a piercing is a bit bizarre to me.
