    I wish I could give zero stars. I'm sure there are great people who work here, but the place might be the worst run organization I've ever encountered. First, they canceled our automatic payments without warning, then cut our water off (again, with NO WARNING) less than 24 hours after the bill due date. Then they charged me a reconnection fee, even though they did these things with zero warning at all. Now they have a new payment system. I can't sign up for an online account because it says my last payment amount is incorrect, despite the fact that I can see that amount in my bank account and in an email confirmation (not to mention, the website looks like it's from 1994). I'm generally at work the entire time they're open, and when I do get a chance to call they usually don't answer. I'm starting to think this is just some kind of scam company designed to make as much money off of reconnection fees as they do water. Oh, and to put the cherry on top: They took out a loan that has an interest rate so high that they couldn't pay it back properly - so they raised the price of water by 41.2%. The people who run HCWD1 are evil, no two ways about it.

    I wish I could submit no stars here! This new pay system is horrible. The lady spoke to the first time was awesome. But, today I called again (2nd month in row) the lady has horrible customer service. Next time I will get her name! Wish there was another water company 🙄!!!

    All these guys want to do is argue with you about the bill, they refuse to take any responsibility for their faulty equipment. they tried to claim i used 16,400 gallons of water the previous month when its just me and 2 dogs living in the household. when i called in the lady refused to do anything until i threatened to sue for fraud, then she offered to send a field tech at MY expense to inspect the meter. i flat out told her i wasn't paying a single penny for them to come inspect their property. HCWD1 is nothing but a bunch of lying thieves.

    Turned off my water after 24 years of faithfully paying because they change the way they want to get paid. E check is not in my vocabulary nor do I want it to be automatic bill pay is and I thought I had it but Nope I did not conform to the new way of paying a bill so I get cut off and I get to pay a re connect fee of $37 I will never give you praise for being so digital because I’m human and that’s just not good enough anymore. The new way will eat all of us up soon enough so we better get used to the digital money soon enough. Thanks for being so modern and un caring you are the future!

    A ridiculous company. Canceled my automatic payment method without notice, led to a disconnect and fees while away for work. Fees to just move service, deposits to just start service, changing acct numbers without notice… Added a previous balance to my current bill using a different acct number, so it’s posted to one acct but didn’t take care of the previous acct. and now a disconnect notice on the old acct number that was already paid. Fees should not be added to a service that is already being paid for, That’s asinine. I hate this company. Customer service can’t do anything for you except give you your acct number, ridiculous.

    I woke up this morning to a busted water meter. I think it just happened because the water down the sidewalk was not a whole lot, but when I uncover the meter it was full. I called the emergency number and the guys showed up in less than 15 minutes and had it fixed in less than 1 hr. I wish I would have caught their names. They were super friendly, professional and very fast. Thank you for a job well done.

    So, I have noticed that water bills across the Radcliff area have increased with out notice recently. That is the reason for the 4/5 star rating, I did just get off the phone with this business. For the first time in 5 years of having service with them, I was connected to someone who was pleasant and considerate when speaking on the phone. The woman who I spoke with was Linda, I personally think this establishment would benefit from having more people like her. Nobody likes paying a water bill but it definitely makes it easier to pay it if the workers of the water company are pleasant to speak with. Thank you Linda for simply being kind, I have high hopes your uplifting attitude will spread across the establishment.

    Received misleading emails saying that my autopay was going through when in fact it wasn't and led to overdue water bill. Poor communication and customer service

    By far the worst utility company I have ever delt with. The customer service is horrible and the price of water is very expensive. I pay more for water here than I did in Louisville. You guys and gals need to work on your communication skills. Much needed improvement all around. Monopolys stink.

    I cannot overstate how helpful Mike Shanahan and his crew have been in helping us identify and fix issues in our stormwater and sewer infrastructure. I've worked with a lot of municipalities in many states. Hardin County district 1 has the best service of any I have ever encountered.
