Misgendered me in health records on all counts. When called, they didn't fix that - half of the health records still misgender me - and had the audacity to say it was because my ID still reads as M. 1. They never asked for an ID, 2. My ID has read as F for a while.

They refused to fill my prescription so I took myself off of the medication and have been feeling wonderful and gained my independence back without their assistance . I wish I could give them no stars but thanks to google they get one. By the way, these reviews are people visiting for the first time and forgot they left it. I’ve been back and fourth here for 6 years. Your better off going to dollar tree if it’s a life threatening emergency than to come here

My experience at Central Wellness started out great. I left my previous office due to substandard care and slipping through the cracks due to COVID. I started out with an RN who was extremely helpful. I assume she began feeling overwhelmed with how much help I needed, because they randomly assigned me to a doctor. Me and the RN were doing our best to discuss how all the medicines actually work, and how safe they were. The "doctor" they assigned me basically refused to give me any actual medicine and would slowly changed the topic any time I tried talking about medicine. I got blood pressure medicine, allergy medicine, and medicine that I believe they honestly should have expected to have a potentially bad reaction to. Otherwise the only help they would truly offer was sending me to get checked out at the psych ward, which I know I didn't actually need because, like I expected, they did not keep me. Did I tell my doctor that I felt okay? Of course I did. I only went on their gently urgent recommendation. I thought maybe it was just all a slip up. But nah. This doctor was very clear that they came from the first office I went to. Specifically said not the second office, the first, and talked like I was supposed to remember them. Okay, except I know for a fact that they were never my doctor at the first office, and Central's website literally said this doctor came straight from the second office. What reason would a doctor have to lie straight to your face about something so innocent? One of their aides looked at my chart and literally said something like "let's see what's wrong today..." Isn't the whole point of a check-up ideally to find nothing wrong? And when I told him how I could not do bloodwork that day because of a traumatizing experience at a screening center, he practically rolled his eyes. Something tells me they have a lot of patients like me, and they don't take them seriously. That's really not a good feeling to get from a doctor's office, and since they were at my old practice at the same time I was, I don't feel safe going back there either. Thanks guys? You tried to "help" and literally almost scared me away from true help for good. Honestly my experience with them ended up feeling like they somehow managed to train me like a dog. Arf arf, I guess. This experience was NOT with Dr Lane. I never had the fortune of meeting Dr Lane. This poor experience was specifically with the doctor who somehow followed me from my old practice, but apparently may have also been at my first practice too. Who knows. Edit: For whatever reason I neglected to say which doctor I saw. It was Dr Jesse Gordon. She lied about her professional background.

I enjoyed some of my experiences here but unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. Central has refused to repair the years of harm they have done to many community members, especially to the Black trans community. Making a blanket statement while refusing to take any accountability or steps towards restorative justice is unacceptable. They have multiple providers there that lack respect for their patients’ boundaries and safety and this is most recently shown by the lack of safety precautions. In my experience, the lack of masks and the removal of gloves when drawing bloodwork are two of the biggest issues I have with them. Many of the population they serve is immunocompromised and to put those patients in a situation where their safety is compromised is disheartening.

Everyone is friendly, but it’s a petting zoo. No one takes anything seriously here and I could hardly call this a doctors office. Medical records never being sent, shots never ordered multiple times. You guys are suppose to be the ones responsible for this stuff. Level up or replace the ones that are just there for the money because I would never wanna come back to this office worrying about stuff they are suppose to be taking care of for me.

They help everyone no questions asked. Sick, homeless, and they’re super accommodating to those of us with mental health issues. Highly recommend this clinic if you’re looking for a judgement-free zone, where nobody seems to think they’re better than anyone else!

To call this place helpful would be an understatement. I went for my hormones and have been with them for that purpose for more than 4 years now. It's rare that I've had a bad experience when I've gone there. Mind you, not every visit has been perfect and I've some less than stellar moments, but not enough to ruin my experience with them. I've never once been judged for the choices I've made regarding my transition related care and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking transition related care. That even includes resources that don't involve medical care. You'll be glad you did.

It's simply splendid. I have them set as my PCP even though I gotta take 3 busses to get there (not as bad as it sounds). They are also an informed concent clinic (duh), so I'm also receiving my Gender related services from here as well. I'm a bit frustrated because their giving me a major Hassel regarding injecting at home. I have been off schedule for me, Estrogen, several times because I can't always get in like I want to, and doing it at home would be infinity easier. I've demonstrated a few times already that I can do it on my own...

Great for STD tests and prep - incompetent for other stuff such as informing patients about procedures. They bill you wrong, enter diagnostic codes wrong (happened every single of seven visits I had - which is kinda impressive), send prescription to wrong pharmacy (then you end up having to "see Brian" after several calls and emails). Forget about the medical records, since you are never going to receive them. The worst is to get bills from Quest Diagnostics constantly for tests you are not even aware of. It is nice to be around queer care professionals but I don't go to a clinic to hang out with chill people. Oh and if you don't make sure to keep your headphones on, you're gonna hear all the local queer gossip from the staff while waiting (but hey, wait time is short at least!) I had to write this review because queer folks deserve better and COWC is capable of fixing its issues.

Lucky to have a place like this in Pgh. My PCP stopped accepting my insurance so I decided to go here out of comfortability and openness. Everyone is extremely kind and there with no judgement.

The doctors and actual medical staff are professional and cordial. I can not say the same for the phone staff. When I call they act like it’s a burden to talk to me and answer my questions. They are generally unhelpful in answering the questions I have. Ive had to call back multiple times in a day because the information they told me isn’t true or only half true. I’ve had this experience twice for my hrt medication. I’ll call to ask about my prescription and they will say it’s fine and tell me to call the pharmacy. I call the pharmacy and suddenly there’s a problem on the clinics end of things. I get sent right back over to the clinic and then suddenly they find a problem that needs resolved. I shouldn’t have to play catch with a clinic to sort out my medications and appointments. If you want a center where you feel welcomed by all the staff I would recommend elsewhere. The doctors here are perfectly capable and helpful but the call staff is certainly not.

It's been over a month since I went there seeking a case manager that would help me. I've called several times, actually talked to Aaron who said he would call back in a half hour. That was 2 weeks ago in itself. If you are an advocate for the lgbtq community, you're not proving it by me

The Central Outreach Wellness Center is an efficient, professional, friendly and non-judgmental (predominantly?) queer community resource that provides hassle-free testing services on an accessible time-table. Most grateful and highly recommend.

Most comfortable I've ever felt in a medical setting! Honestly a bigger comfort than expected to see medical professionals who are all in the community ❤️🏳️‍🌈

So far I have enjoyed coming to Central Outreach and Wellness Center. The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well as willing to help you. And they are also very good not to discuss your medical issues without your permission. The only thing that I am not happy with is your Patient Portal. I was never able to get into my account. Thank you, Moses Jordan

Missed a t shot and other meds because of them, doctor not really on call(plus voicemail is full), doesn’t feel like a safe space. Rather get misgendered yet better care somewhere else😂 Damian is cool tho. Not the place for Black trans people! Contact SisTers instead for healthcare resources.

Katie was an excellent care giver during my husband’s appointment. We had questions about how to do some things at home and she took the time to teach us and make sure we were confident when we left. She was extremely kind, compassionate and patient with us.

Came here looking for a PCP and was screened for STIs and told to go elsewhere. I picked this specific practice looking for open minded doctors and a more comfortable experience than I've had with "traditional doctors" and was made to feel incredibly uncomfortable in not fitting an expected demographic. I feel less seen and less comfortable in my personal journey figuring out who I am and spent the day having a breakdown.

Very nice place with lot of kind and caring people. Makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome. They help people with so much and have a pharmacy to make it super easy to get your medicine.

I went in today feeling anxious about testing and explaining my situation. I was greeted by all smiles and kindness. The staff are so friendly and caring. I almost forgot I was in a medical waiting room. When I explained my situation, the staff working with me were so supportive and offered me resources for support groups and made me feel better about getting help. I would suggest them to anyone needing testing, regardless of your situation. It is definitely a judgement free zone and you will leave with a smile on your face. If I ever need something again, I feel safe speaking to the staff about problems and going back.

I’ve never been to a more well kept, beautiful medical/wellness center. Everyone was so kind and respectful. I work in healthcare and was extremely impressed by how quickly I was able to be seen and have all my needs met and not be rushed in and out either. I’m so glad this is here in Pittsburgh, it’s providing vital services to the community.

Always a nice, friendly atmosphere and good vibe. The staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful, you can tell they really love what they do - caring for the wellness of others. This is the nicest clinic I’ve ever been to with the most resources available to the community for free. The very best, hands down. They are super awesome!! Recommend visiting here if you need a clinic.

Everyone that works there are so welcoming & down to earth. I have never felt judgement from the staff and it was easy to discuss everything. I am grateful for them....they are making a positive difference in this city and they should be proud of what they are achieving! Thanks to all at central outreach!!

I usually go to the Washington office to see Carol,Alyssa and Aaron,(they are truly the best) but had to go the Northshore office in a crunch and Ila was so sweet! Very professional and personable. They really made my visit comfortable. Honestly, I can’t say good enough things about COWC. Carol has been my PCP going on 5 years and I have never felt more comfortable in a doctors office than I do with her.
