2019 - Great food and service! Cozy and a great location! 2021 - Second visit, same great pizza (best I've had in the Lehigh Valley), cozy atmosphere and great service. Very expensive!! Around $50 for three 12inch pizzas!!

This review is overdue. I'm NYC-born and NJ-raised. I have no issues having pizza outside of states not bordering the Atlantic but I have no expectations that I'll be wowed. Well I was wowed. Wood fire isn't always a guaranteed incredible pie so I loved how our margherita pie and mushroom pie came out incredible. Our phenomenal waitress Adriana was very attentive and bubbly. Next time I'm in Emmaus, I'm making sure to stop by for other pies on the menu. Thank you for a welcome time!

This pizza is world class and inappropriately good for the area. The owners care about ingredients and their craft and it shows. 10/10 perfect marks. We buy frozen pizzas from them all the time because no other takeout could possibly be better.

BEST pizza in the Lehigh Valley. Ricotta cheesecake is fantastic. All locally sourced ingredients. It takes quite some time to get your food, but it's worth the wait. I wish there was more seating, though.

Best pizza in the valley, bar none, and among the best I've had anywhere. I love the creative and ever-changing specials, tied to seasonal produce and with toppings that always seem to pair with one another perfectly.

We had a very nice time here tonight! They were absolutely packed and for great reason. The food was INCREDIBLE. We are Italian and do not take our meatballs and sauce lightly. These meatballs were excellently seasoned and the ciabatta roll that came with it was just perfect. We ordered a flight of ciders which were all pleasant. We also ordered a flight of pizzas which wasn't an option but we did it anyway. We got a Happy Pig, a Blue Moon and a Three Fun Guys. All 3 pies were amazing. The blue moon, however, was absolutely to die for. We will be returning and it will be for that pie specifically. You can tell they take their ingredients seriously. The dough was some of the best I've had in the area if not the best. It was cooked well. So simple yet so flavorful. All of this being said I do have one take away from the night. The woman who was helping us seemed to be doing quite literally everything on the floor. Perhaps it was just a case of a call out or untimely short staffing. She seated us, brought our table settings, took our order, cleared our plates, delivered our food and was doing this for each of the 10-15 tables seemingly alone. She was doing a great job and was pleasant throughout but you could tell she had her hands full and I felt awful. It took about 40 mins to get our app and another 15-20 to get the pizzas. We were there around an hour and a half total. We ended up not ordering a 2nd flight like we planned as it was taking a while to get things and an obnoxious table had filed in next to us. Took the remaining pizza home and it was still great out of the air fryer. To summarize: If you're willing to wait for greatness then you absolutely must come here. Worth every minute and every penny spent. We will be back soon.

Hidden gem in Emmaus! Excellent all around, great service, food was delicious and cidery was wonderful too! So many options. Quick and timely service. I am so excited already to go back again!

Cute place! Staff was exceptional. Love the outdoor seating area...minus the train whistle each time a train went by. The pizza was FANTASTIC! Good drink selection. The Chocolate Mousse and Ricotta Cheesecake are a must!!! If you haven't been there, try it out you won't be disappointed!

Great pizza! Not overly salted, fresh tasting, and very different from the usual NY style we usually get around here, (there's nothing wrong with NY style). It seems most of the ingredients are local sourced, including the meat. We tried The Happy Pig, Marguerita, Kids Plain, and a special with Meatballs. They were all excellent. Service was great, poor guy was the only one there when it opened, but he had no problem handling a first timer. It's a little on the small side, and right against the railroad tracks, I think it was a depot station at one time. They also offer uncooked, sealed, frozen pizzas, which I will definitely be trying.

Some of the best pizza I've had in Pennsylvania and I've lived here for 30+ years. Switchback is located right next to the train tracks in Emmaus and is a rather small operation, yet the focus on service, food, and beverage is anything but small. I was fortunate enough to be invited to a friend's birthday dinner at Switchback where we ordered several pizzas and a smaller plates along with a selection of their ciders. Holy. Cow. While everything, and I mean everything, was delicious the standout was the Detroit-style pizza. I've been dreaming about it since I had it. I will continue to do so until I have it again. It's only available on Saturdays and for good reason because something this good can't just exist all the time - it's against the laws of physics I think. Beyond the pizza, the variety of homemade ciders is incredible. Finally, the service is just wonderful. Our server was so sweet and accommodating, it truly made the already fantastic experience even better. I can't say enough good about Switchback Pizza Company so I'll stop here and just suggest you go immediately.

First time there and we loved by appetizer served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and the delicious pepperoni pizza (couldn’t even wait for the picture). I highly recommend!

I happened on this place this afternoon while on my way to Funk Brewing (about 100 yards away across the railroad tracks). The pizza was one of the best I've ever had! Wow. The crust was amazing - soft with just the right amount of chewiness. The ingredients (sausage, bacon, cheese, and sauce) were excellent. I sat at their small bar and watched the pizzas being made. The staff were friendly and upbeat. Nice vibe with a brisk takeout business in the late afternoon. The beer list was well curated. I will certainly be back (I live about an hour away, unfortunately). I didn't bring my phone inside - so I don't have any photos to post.

Outstanding pizza! Been looking for a yummy crust and unique pizza combinations and Switchback makes it all happen. I had the Drunken Apples and Swine…mmm mmmmmm! The wood fired crust was crunchy on the top and soft on the bottom. The apples flambéed in bourbon along with local Italian sausage and Gorgonzola made for an incredible combination. Also tried two yummy ciders and the chocolate mousse! Can’t wait to get back… soon! Thanks!

Don’t waste your time with pizza anywhere else. This place is amazing and cares deeply about making a quality product. We were so excited to find this place and eat their delicious pizza. We now buy our weekly bread loaves from here too. Thank you for the amazing food!!!

The Pizza here is no joke. This is some actually good pizza. The dough is superb, and the ingredients are actually well balanced. Beat pizza I've tried in the Valley for sure.

Pizza and bread were excellent. This place is a hidden gem of Lehigh valley, as one of my friend described. Truly a place to visit for pizza lovers. If you do visit them try their ciders they have few varieties.

Switchback has to be the best Brick Oven Pizza in Lehigh Valley! The crust is well done, yet still chewy and flavorful. We had the Margherita this time and wouldn't change a thing. Fresh ingredients made for a perfect pie. Also, a delicious arugula salad with a twist of a wild rice, sweet potato and walnut added. What a great idea! Can't wait to go back. Thanks for the great service Adrianna!!

Excellent creative specialty pizzas in Emmaus PA. This is a slice of their Pizza of the week for January 18th 2020. It had a light flavorful crust with good spring and stretch with a nice wood fired taste. It was topped with prosciutto, baby spinach, roasted garlic cream sauce, parmigiana cheese topped with spicy pickled local Napa cabbage. My wife and I seek out specialty pizza during our travels across the country and this one is in our top 3 all time. We both love prosciutto so that really boosted this one up for us. We have had 2 other pies from Switchback and they were also great but this one was on a different level. We look forward to trying many more from Switchback.

I'm a pizza snob and these guys make the cut easily. Fresh ingredients only make their neopolitan style pizza better. All baked in a wood fired oven. Very friendly owners and staff. My kids beg me to take them every Friday night.

Some of the best pizza that I’ve had! They grow their garlic on site, and it’s AMAZING. Ask for fresh ciabatta and garlic and you can make your own super fresh garlic bread scooping as much as you want on. Very limited seating, but it’s worth a wait if they’re packed.

This possibly had to be one of the worst dining experiences ever. I had to go in and ask for my own silverware and napkins. The owner said they are there under the counter. I understand being understaffed, but then don’t except reservations and our dinner for pizza salad and beer was $180 for horrible service and undercooked pizza. I have worked in the restaurant business for years and this is a restaurant I will not go back to. Sorry I love to support small businesses but don’t except reservations if you can’t handle it.
