TL;DR
-
scammed
When
G&G
opened,
I
met
Cam
and
his
wife,
and
did
a
couple
discounted
fire
shows
at
the
Halloween
events.
I
also
cleaned
the
shop
during
Covid.
Thought
I
knew
the
dude.
After
3
years,
I
decided
I
wanted
a
tattoo
for
my
bday
in
2022.
I
contacted
him
about
it,
and
asked
if
I
could
come
talk
to
him
about
a
few
ideas.
He
told
me
that
he
doesn't
do
in-person
consulting
and
is
strictly
text-only.
I
told
him
that
made
me
uncomfortable,
but
he
insisted
that
was
the
only
option.
After
coming
up
with
a
few
categories
of
ideas
and
collecting
photos
for
examples,
I
contacted
him
and
asked
if
I
could
send
him
some
ideas
for
him
to
choose
from.
After
he
said
yes,
I
sent
a
rather
lengthy
message
with
notes
on
each
option.
His
response
was
extremely
dry,
he
said,
"This
is
too
much
info,
I
don't
care
what
you
get.
Just
tell
me
what
you
want
and
I'll
make
it
look
cool."
Again
I
was
dismayed,
but
I
quickly
replied
and
said,
"Okay,
I
want
a
chest
tattoo
of
a
bull
skull
with
asymmetrical
horns,
I
want
a
black
crescent
on
the
head,
and
I'd
like
there
to
be
Chrysanthemums
and
Daisies
around
it."
I
sent
him
a
photo
of
a
skull,
and
he
said
that
sounded
good.
On
the
day
of
the
app't,
I
got
there
a
early
for
paperwork.
We
ended
up
jumping
right
into
the
tattoo,
and
never
did
the
paperwork.
He
showed
me
the
artwork
he'd
drawn:
he
had
traced
the
picture
of
the
skull
I
sent
him,
and
drew
one
Chrysanthemum
(that
he
used
twice)
and
two
Daisies
(one
was
also
duplicated).
We
talked
about
width/sizing,
he
printed
out
stencils,
and
I
let
him
pick
the
arrangement
of
the
flowers.
He
did
a
good
job
with
that,
placing
one
of
the
Chrysanthemums
behind
one
of
the
horns
so
that
it
wasn't
so
obviously
the
same
flower.
The
whole
experience
was
done
in
less
than
3.5
hours.
I
paid
$500,
and
tipped
$100,
all
in
cash
--
the
tip
was
$20
for
each
hour,
and
an
additional
$40
for
the
time
he
had
spent
reading/texting.
After
the
first
session,
a
friend
wanted
to
send
me
$300
as
a
late
birthday
gift.
He
purchased
a
gift
cert
through
the
website,
and
sent
me
the
confirmation
email.
I
contacted
Cam
to
let
him
know
about
it,
and
asked
if
I
should
come
pick
it
up.
We
ended
up
setting
an
appointment
date
for
about
2
months
later,
and
Cameron
told
me
he
would
just
put
the
gift
certificate
down
as
my
deposit.
I
did
not
contact
him
again
until
4
days
before
my
app't
(Thursday),
when
I
sent
him
my
idea
to
add
a
couple
different
flowers
and
some
mushrooms.
Cam
had
told
me
that
he
didn't
draw
until
the
night
before.
The
day
after
I
sent
him
my
idea
(Friday),
I
asked
him
to
confirm
that
he
hadn't
done
any
drawing
work
yet.
He
asked
me
why
I
was
asking.
I
told
him
I
was
not
sure
if
I
wanted
mushrooms
or
a
different
kind
of
flower,
and
I
followed
up
by
saying
not
to
worry
about
it,
no
changes.
After
hours
of
no
reply,
I
got
a
message
from
him
at
the
end
of
a
very
stressful
work
week
for
me,
saying
that
I
was
stressing
him
out
too
much
because
I
didn't
know
what
I
wanted.
He
said
he
could
maybe
reschedule
or
that
I
could
go
to
another
artist.
Dismayed,
I
asked
him
to
please
reconsider.
I
said
I
was
sorry
he
was
stressed,
but
that
he
is
a
tattoo
artist
and
sometimes
people
change
their
minds.
He
responded
very
unprofessionally,
with
no
apologies
for
canceling
after
I
waited
3
months
for
the
app't.
He
told
me
he
would
send
the
refund
that
night.
I
waited
all
weekend
with
no
refund,
then
messaged
him
that
Monday
to
tell
him
I
was
sorry
again
for
the
stress
and
that
there
were
no
hard
feelings.
He
responded
by
telling
me
that
he
"knew
what
I
had
called
him"
(in
a
FB
post
that
wasn't
about
him)
and
that
I
was
no
longer
welcome
at
the
shop.
Despite
me
explaining
who
the
post
was
actually
about,
Cam
never
replied
to
me
again.
He
also
never
refunded
the
gift
certificate,
despite
having
said
that
my
friend
could
contact
him
for
the
money.
My
friend
ended
up
filing
a
police
report,
but
Cam
kept
the
$300.
3
stars
because
it's
a
cool
shop
and
other
honest
artists
work
there.
