This is an amazing fitness studio that is a wonderful place to workout. The environment is fun and clean and I am gaining more skills with each class. The instructors are attentive to your fitness level and always encouraging. This place has got a variety of programs led by highly skilled and super friendly professional instructors. I would highly recommend to seriously consider John Wai Martial Arts classes as a great transforming experience. I guarantee these classes will change your life and condition you physically, mentally and spiritually.

I recently joined John Wai Martial Arts and it has been one of the best decisions. The staff is so kind and attentive. The instructors are all the kind and they really take the time to make sure you are doing it right. The workouts are always a great mix of fun and hard. You feel comfortable working out there. I am so happy that I get to go and I would recommend this place to anyone. I do the kickboxing class and I love it. I also love how they have many different classes so everyone gets to do what they want. Such an amazing place 👍🏻

My daughter is 8 and lacked in confidence, within herself and after only 2 weeks she has opened up tremendously. I couldn't have hand picked better instructors for her. Thay are all so dedicated to the sport and making sure every child gets the attention they need to be the best they can be. My daughter doesn't think of this as a sport she genuinely enjoys each and every class she attends (which is 5 days a week). John Wai martial arts studio has exceeded our expectations making this lifelong commitment the best decision we have made for her.

I’m posting under my husband’s account. My cousin and I attended a few kickboxing sessions with a private lesson, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the instructor David!! He has great energy, patience, personality, and attentiveness. He varies up the routine for each class, and it’s a perfect balance of kickboxing with intertwined floor exercises. He assists with proper form and technique during the sessions. We had hardcore workouts while having fun at the same time! I wish my job was closer and had better hours, so I could have joined as a member. 100% recommend!!

this place is awesome!! If you want to have your children/kids boys girls to learn martial arts in a confident safe space this is it !! Everyone is nice, they have seats, restrooms, water, and some drinks to but. Also they have their merchandise to sell. Teachers are overall SO patient it amazes me every time. So recommended!!

I love this place. Great instructors, with years of knowledge and training! They are patient and will work with all levels to help you achieve your goals. Updated 4/15/2020: Even now, during quarantine, the instructors are working extra hard to keep our goals alive, by going live and recording their live sessions. They are truly committed in helping us stay fit and sane through this crisis. A true family!

Since the first day I walked in, everyone at John Wai was very welcoming! I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now. I’ve been to two other gyms prior and I have seen the best of the best here. From the environment, the coaches, and even the members, it’s top tier. I never go home too beat up because no one is trying to kill me. I have seen tremendous gains in my jiu jitsu game. I go a little early and I see how they treat the kids. I have to say there is no better facility for your child. You can’t go wrong here come in and try it for yourself!!

I've practiced martial arts at a couple other locations, and by far the staff and environment at John Wai has surpassed them all! The members are incredibly kind, friendly and eager to learn and help each other learn. The staff is extremely attentive, fun, and masters of their craft. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking to learn martial arts whether for self defense, to fight professionally or just as a hobby!

Let's talk about addictions for a minute.....my bed is pretty addictive.....but Kickboxing workouts? GIT SOME. One hour, every day of the most addictive, high intensity, fun workouts you can get will change your life. The instructors are incredibly supportive and passionate about what they do, and with everyone working out with similar motivations, John Wai truly has more than a gym, it's a community. They offer fantastic starter packages to get you going and see if the gym is right for you, so there's no reason not to check it out!

John Wai Martial Arts is a fantastic academy that offers different forms of martial arts to all a wide range of willing aged people. This establishment has trained instructors that are caring, but also push you to be a better version of yourself and make you enjoy your time there. As long as you are willing to put in the work the instructors can make modifications so you can push to reach your goals. The facilities accommodate everyone and allows you to feel at home. The more a person goes to classes it always them to be added into the family that is here. 10/10 great place to join, everyone deserves raises.

Let me preface this review by stating I have done martial arts for 27 years. My primary focus the past six years has been on Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) including the various weapon and unarmed techniques of the Renaissance Bolognese school. But before that I had a wide array of experience in combat sports and martial arts including Pak Mei Kung Fu, Kyokushin Karate, and folkstyle wrestling. I say all that to qualify my opinion that John Wai Martial Arts is an outstanding place to train in the area and one of the best training facilities I have ever seen in my martial arts career. You will get excellent training whether as a novice or someone with a lot of experience or as someone who is a hobbyist looking to get in shape or someone looking to compete. Every class teaches excellent technique and principles whether your context is sport or self-defense and the instructors understand the concepts of distance and timing which unify all martial arts including those they teach. I especially enjoy the Choy Lay Fut classes as I enjoy forms and the tradition aspects of martial arts. Additionally, Choy Lay Fut teaches mechanics that I find cross over well to the ring and in sparring. However, all the classes are great and I try to attend as many as I possibly can in order to be a better-rounded martial artist. I strongly recommend this school to anyone, whether looking for adult or child classes, seeking martial arts in the South Florida area.

This is my first time ever doing a review, but this gym truly deserve it! I’ve been doing kickboxing since December and I love it so much! The environment it’s so nice, very relaxing and the instructors are AMAZING! Each one of them!
