I have 18 years experience in education and currently evaluate teachers as a profession. Why does this matter? I have been sitting in on Steve's lessons with my 10, now 11 year old son for a year now. Steve is great with kids. He is always enthusiastic and willing to work with my son to set goals on the bass guitar. If my kid wants to learn a song, Steve will quickly sit with him and help him figure out any request. Talent show? No problem. Steve will help the kid arrange a piece that showcases the strengths of the musician. Steve teaches music theory, note reading, and the Nashville numbers system. He develops the whole musician. He develops a musician that can be a working musician or hobby musician. My son is progressing quickly and always looks forward to his lessons with Steve. It's this combination of solid theory work and student requests that make the lessons fun and challenging. I fully recommend Steve for anyone wanting to REALLY learn guitar or bass.

When our daughter wanted to learn to play guitar we were planning to ‘shop’ for an instructor, Steve was our first and only stop. We were so impressed at that first lesson my daughter even asked after if we can just stick with him. He is so talented and has such a passion for not only playing, but teaching as well. Steve makes a connection with all his students, and tailors their lessons to what they are wanting to play and try to achieve. My daughter has been taking lessons for awhile now and we are still blown away at what he can do, has passed along, and how he is always trying to give her that extra push to make her that much greater. He is truly talented at what he does! We appreciate what Steve has taught our daughter thus far and are excited to see what the future has to bring!

Our daughter just wants to play the music she likes on her guitar. We want her to read music, understand chords and timing and have an appreciation for different kinds of music. We want her to play often because she loves it. Steve has been the perfect instructor to achieve all of our goals. He has her playing and singing the music she loves, and she continues to become more skilled in the techniques of guitar with every lesson. We highly recommend Steve; he knows his craft, he is a great teacher, and he is encouraging and fun.

Steve is the absolute man, I'm a relatively new guitar player and Steve has been so helpful in teaching me good tequnique and kick-starting my progression into an absolute guitar god. In all seriousness, he's a very talented instructor that is very good at explaining new tequniques in a way that is very approchable. I would highly recommend Colorado Springs Guitar Studio to any player trying to improve their playing!

Steve is my guitar instructor at Colorado Springs Guitar Studio, and after years of wanting to be able to really play, he has moved me forward leaps and bounds in my playing. He has taught me music theory, as well as built a solid foundation of fundamental guitar skills for me. After just a short time, I am already composing my own songs, and accompanying myself on my instrument. He is flexible, he is patient, and he is awesome. I would recommend him 100 times over! Thanks, Steve!

I recently moved to Colorado Springs and was eager to take my guitar playing to a whole new level. I met with Steve and within minutes he was able to assess where I was and tailor a lesson plan that put me on a path to becoming a great guitar player. I immediately saw improvement in my technique, style and understanding of theory. Steve is still shaping my abilities as a player and gets just as excited about my progress as I do. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious. Highly recommended! Contact Colorado Springs Guitar Studio if you want to learn guitar or become a better player!

I have been taking lessons from Steve for almost 6 months now and it has been 1 of the best experiences of my life. He makes learning guitar a very fun thing to do. His knowledge of all things guitar is astounding. I always look forward to my lessons with him and know that I will walk away with more fun things to practice for the next lesson. If you want to learn how to play a guitar, Steve at Colorado Springs Guitar Studio IS the guy to go to!

I started taking lessons from Steve in early 2015. I’ve been playing for quite some time, but recently decided to focus on Jazz. During the first lesson Steve quickly got a feel for where I was at, and by the time I left I had enough information to construct rootless major, minor, and dominant 7th chords based on understanding. His lessons continue to be concise, and applicable. Learning jazz can be a daunting process, but Steve helps to see through some of the mystery and hype.

Steve is the best guitar player I’ve ever met and a patient and efficient teacher. My son has been taking lessons from him for 2 years and has gone from newb to ace, and is still progressing. And he’s just really cool. Highest recommendation~

We moved to Colorado Springs this past summer coming from Virginia and a guitar teacher that we were sad to leave. However, our daughter was excited to keep learning and find a new teacher as soon as we got here. Steve has been the perfect fit for our daughter, expanding on what she already knew on the guitar to also starting her on the bass. He does a great job of meeting his students where they are and challenges them to push themselves. We could not be happier that we found Steve and Colorado Springs Guitar Studio!

Steve was recommended to us by a friend and we are very happy we found him. He's been an excellent guitar teacher to my 11 year old son!! He is patient, teaches to your pace, and he wants you to learn music that YOU like. I've recommended him several times (kids and adults) and will continue to do so. He helped take my son's "interest" and grow it into a passion.

He wastes no time and genuinely wants his students to be able to play what they love. He is positive and encouraging and knows his stuff! Highly recommend checking out Colorado Springs Guitar Studio!

If you're searching for a guitar teacher to help take your playing to the next level, look no further. Steve is an accomplished, elite-level gigging musician who also excels in teaching his craft to players of all levels. Lessons are laid back, fun, and challenging. I've taken many online lessons with several instructors, but Steve has really shown me the value of in-person lessons. I look forward to my weekly lessons with him for years to come.

Steve is very knowledgeable and has a really good teaching style. I would definitely recommend guitar lessons from Steve to anyone who is trying to deepen their knowledge of guitar and bring their level of playing from novice to really understanding the guitar and having a good foundation.
