If you’re in need of any kind of help from the ER…. Please go elsewhere this is really a joke! My GI doctor sent me to Memorial Hospital ER for a stat CT scan. I have been waiting for 4 hours and counting… (still waiting)! Remember I asked nicely to see if they can just order the ct scan by the doctor I’m ready to go see the doctor it will be ready. I have been told for 2 hours and counting that I’m next they’re waiting on a patient to go upstairs (maybe to God and back) then I can be seen remind you… I asked what time that will be the answer I got was oh I don’t know’ whenever the room is clean…. I asked you guys don’t have any environmental personnel’s? Oh I don’t know! Only if you know I have my kids with me because I am the only person at the moment my husband is away on military duty. This is no excuse but come on…. Whoever is the director need to be hired! Have no concerning and caring nurses! I will never on God! Come back here!

The ER is a garbage. SORRY to write this. They make patients wait for hours with no result. It was a simple visit could be done quicker than I thought. The doctors are lazy and don’t know anything about the problem. I would suggest that Savannah administration work on this situation.

Drs and staff were no nice . And I dont mean like oh hi good morning how are you? Nice..I mean like . Good morning ma'am. Did you sleep well? Are you in any pain? How may I help you ? Nice !!!! Food was actually great!!! They kept my room clean. Answering any and all questions I had. Security is abundant here . Don't let that scare you. They also may take their time on a few things. But they will get those things done..

I gave birth here back in May, the nurses were excellent during my stay. My housekeeper Ms. Dorothy told me how beautiful my baby was and kept my room clean. Even though I ended up having an emergency C-section, I still had excellent care from every nurse I encountered in the mother and baby wing. The food was also great and they even asked my husband if he needed anything. I will definitely give birth, here again if I have the opportunity.

Disgrace I do not give 1 star I give the following... Inexperienced staff in every dept .. what staff exists that is. I was horrified my child was there and the pediatric nurse only identified as Makayla on her name badge was not only slovenly but more concerned discussing her husband’s extramarital affair with a fellow nurse at the same hospital (!) than helping my child. I had the displeasure of hearing about how she had just had a baby and was pregnant again and has herpes! A nurse with herpes?!!? A nurse with herpes who said she hopes she spread it to another nurse because her husband was a cheater?! My goodness. All I could do was pray the nurses would switch out quickly and that this one washes her hands with soap before touching anyone. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

To Start off I was so nervous going in even though I’ve given birth twice before this time. Going into the Er laboring at midnight was not how I wanted to spend my night. The staff downstairs was kind and patient. We made it to labor and delivery where there were 15+ moms also laboring and delivering and they treated me as if I was the only one there. From the start of my experience with this hospital it was the best one I’ve had and I’m grateful to have delivered here. The staff in labor and delivery, the staff in postpartum, and the OR staff were top notch and made me feel so at ease. They listened, helped, made me feel comfortable, talked with me, and it was like I new the staff my whole life. Dr. Merritt was the best labor and delivery dr I’ve ever had and I’m so glad she was there that night to deliver my daughter. If I could rate my experience/stay it would be 10/10 and I could sit and talk all day about everyone and how amazing they were.

Best labor and delivery experience I could have hoped for! Everyone was so nice and always making sure I had everything I needed. Food was amazing. Housekeeping was always keeping the place nice and clean. Doctor Merritt was amazing, as well as Susie the labor and delivery manager. All the nurses were beyond excellent as well! So happy I came here!

Unfortunately, my visit was through the Emergency Room , I fell at work and my blood pressure was very high. Everyone was extremely helpful and made my visit VERY comfortable. The Doctor was on time and very compassionate. She did an awesome job and very professional. The ER was very busy but each person was calm and very attentive. My Visit was 100% taken care of and treated very kindly. Karla

I had a wonderful experience with Memorial Medical Center. Kat and Kathy in the Pet Scan department went above and beyond for me. They made sure that I was comfortable and they both made my husband feel welcome as well. They receptionist was also very kind and accommodating. I have more appointments at Memorial and I know that I will feel just as comfortable here. Thank you Kathy and Cat for being such beautiful people both inside and out.

I’m always having trouble with this facility. I have filled multiple complaints over the years. Today’s complaint is because I press option four when calling this facility to speak to a nurse. This is my primary care doctor not everyone there is horrible, but they need to sort out the bad apples. When someone picked up, did not get to get her name she was very rude and disrespectful. I asked her not to talk to me in this matter, and she hung the phone up in my face. What Triggered this lady to be so rude and disrespectful She told me No nurses was available And she will have to take a message. All I replied with is this is not good. I had a procedure and really needed to talk with the nurse about my medical condition. I did not expect for them to be so uncaring out of medical facility. Multiple times over I’ve had had situations with this facility, where the other unprofessional, uncaring and no common courtesy.

SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN I’m a patient that came in for Hemiplegic migraines. The doctors/staff were very rude and nasty especially the one with the braided hair that sits in the waiting discharge area. I never seen a staff that makes a patient feel so uncomfortable especially after dealing with someone being sick. Her issue were due to laziness that caused her to be upset because she didn’t want to get out her seat to answer the call bell. If I had to rate this hospital I would give it a zero especially someone that works in the medical field.

The nursing staff on the third floor for room 351 gets 10 stars. The medical doctors and surgical doctors both get negative 20 stars. Never in my life have I ever seen the most imcompatant group of medical professionals. The both continued to second guess their decisions and couldn't stay on the same page with me for my health benefits. They did take my insurance money though. I think they owe me my money back because I am worse off now then I was before being admitted by their team players. The CT department and labs were great. Transportation was great also. This is a teaching hospital and I am afraid the are going to teach the younger generation the wrong procedures They would say one thing and then say something totally different in the same breath. Oh and my food, no one told me that I had to order my food so I missed three meals that I am sure I got charged for. Missed breakfast yesterday and my lunch and dinner trays were already eaten off of when I had gotten them. I got one bite of lasagna and three pieces of squash. No drink and not utensils. Did I deserve this treatment? I don't think so. The building was clean even though it is very outdated. My dinner tray had a bite of rice with brown gravy. No chicken, no vegetable. No drink and dirty plastic ware. Needless to say I won't be going back to this hospital.

terrible place. don't take your wife, your kids, really anyone you care about here. Listen, we get it's the emergency room, but why does everyone that works at a place like this have to be rude and hate everything about life. No one wants to be there so to make the experience bad on adults and children is simply pointless. It's literally out of a skit from SNL how these people operate. The wait time, the service, the communication, the discharge. It's all done terribly. It falls on management even though you never see management

Arrived on time for wife's mammogram. Normally takes 10 minutes. After an hour and 15 minutes she was still in back. Asked receptionist if they still had her. Was told they're backed up because of short staffing. Hard to believe with all the employees strolling up and down the halls with nothing to do. The worst part was all the calls earlier telling us we'd be billed $75 if we missed our appointment. This hospital has gone downhill since HCA took over. Scary part is they're probably the best care hospital in the area.

Honestly, this is the first ER in the area that I felt I was treated/taken seriously, and not just written off and sent home. The doctor did a thorough evaluation before releasing me. The only issues was the wait times, which is to be expected at any ER. I do think the beds in the hallway could have a little more privacy, but understand they’re working with what they have. Ones closer to hallways could also be moved just a little further down because they do sometimes get hit by passing traffic. The Radiology was also amazing, very reassuring, kind etc. overall my experience with this hospital was a positive experience.

The staff was very nice and took great care of me. I stayed overnight after back surgery. At discharge time, I couldn't get a walker because the nurse told me, it was going to take another hour for me to get it. The Orthopedic guy told me to just go to Walmart and buy one. I didn't like that at all. So, I was sent home without a cane or walker to assist me after surgery. Night shift nurses was awesome! Took very good care of me.

My experience was due to a scheduled c-section to deliver my son. The nurses on labor & delivery still treated me so kindly and made sure I was comfortable, despite just being in triage waiting for my surgery time. Dr. Osborne performed my c-section and took amazing care of me. The nurses, other doctors, and staff that I encountered on the mother/baby wing during my stay were fantastic.

I spent about 14 hours waiting in emergency for a room after being transferred from another hospital about 9:00 p.m. To be fair, I understand it is always like that. They are always filled beyond capacity. I was still admitted and treated while laying on a gurney along a wall in a hallway. I received continuous attention medically and anything I needed to talk about or do for my immediate comfort or care was attended to within minutes. I was moved to a private room before lunch the next day where I enjoyed glorious peace and quiet and was finally able to sleep. The high level of concern and care continued from the floor nurses, and I was wheeled all over the hospital for various tests. I had 3 doctors coordinating and writing orders and was discharged after 2 more days feeling so much better than I ever thought possible. I have continued to improve since coming home and following the orders they gave. My experience with medical facilities is very limited but I have never been more impressed with the medical efficiency and the staff's care and concern. It is too bad they cannot expand to accommodate the local need.

I'm not one to write bad reviews or have the report paranoid or victim tell mommy mentality but I went in to the ER room with an ulcer and I left with blood clots in my arm, for no reason. I saw the same nurse drop the sterilizing foam brush on the floor and then pick it up and use it on me and I wouldn't of said nothing except the same nurse gave me blood clots for no reason. She said "I think the vein blew from the IV needle, let me proceed to play around with it inside your vein" But if there's a positive side there is a few good nurses and alot of knowledgeable doctors. On the negative side, I now have to live with blood clots for months if not longer, they did this.

My husband was brought here unconscious. NO ONE made a single effort to identify him. Further, numerous staff members very clearly stated it's common practice to do this despite the danger it places each patient they do this to in. If you have a missing family member there's a real chance this staff simply didn't ID them. Otherwise the care is pretty standard U. S. Healthcare, which let's be honest, isn't a complement.

My mother was recently sent here after two strokes. Our experience in the ER wasn't all that great. I'd give that two stars because she laid in a bed in the hall for 22 hours after her strokes, and missed lunch on the second day. But, once she was moved to the fifth floor, everything was amazing. The staff were so attentive. The neurologist was very thorough in finding the root cause of her strokes. She went through several tests over several days to rule out causes. When they identified the cause there was a plan to follow up with a procedure to prevent future stroke. Dr. Sedfawy 'i think' was my favorite. He was amazing at explaining every step in detail, and reducing any fears for my mom and I, that she would have another stroke. The cardiologists were great at working together to determine her treatment along with the other doctors. The food was really good from what my mom said. And if you get admitted, they will give you different options to choose from for each meal. I honestly don't think she would have gotten the greatest of care if she had ended up in Macon. Thank you to all of the staff especially those on the fifth floor that took excellent care of my mother. May God bless you all.

I recently experienced a heartbreaking loss as my loved one passed away this morning at Memorial Health hospital. I want to take a moment to express my profound gratitude for the exceptional care, compassion, and empathy that the entire staff provided during this difficult time. The team at Memorial Health, especially the charge nurse, Jason, in the ER went above and beyond to ensure that my loved one received the best possible care. Jason's professionalism and kindness were truly exceptional, and my family and I deeply appreciated his unwavering support. In the midst of such a challenging and emotional situation, the hospital staff's dedication to providing comfort and assistance was outstanding. They made a difficult time just a little bit easier with their exceptional service and empathy. Thank you, Memorial Health, for your exceptional care during our time of need. Your commitment to your patients and their families is truly remarkable. With heartfelt gratitude, Julie Trowell

My sons visit was perfect! Practioners and staff were wonderful and attentive My only complaint is registration never even came into the room, hence we missed the opportunity to pay our copay and to receive the discount. I asked if they would come in but no one ever showed up. My son was perfectly capable of signing the consents! This is not the first time. Registration needs to do better.

The nursing care was adequate. However, the room had not been cleaned prior to my admission. This was obvious. Dirty floor with trash. Worst of all the sides of the toilet seat had feces.

Dr.Whipple was absolutely amazing along with most of the staff members that took care of me while I was there, most of them were very kind and caring. I wanted to change into my own clothes to be more comfortable (which I know i have a right to as long as it doesn’t interfere with anything I’m obligated to wear) one nurse was super sweet and kind and said that wouldn’t be a problem so when my husband arrived with my clothes I hit the call bell and asked to go to the bathroom and to change into my clothes .. I’m not sure who exactly answered the call but she was rude, told me I had to stay in my gown and when I told her the previous nurse said it was okay she got rude and said “okay” and hung up but the worse is she NEVER came to even help me to the bathroom.. I waited over half an hour until the tech came in to get my vital signs and that’s when I was finally able to go to the bathroom and changed into my own clothes.

My first time going there was great. The staff in the back was amazing and Dr. Bottner was great! I had a second appointment for a few test and this is where I had a few problems. They called me the day before to make confirm the appointment, (they called to confirm about 3 times). I confirmed the appointment, because I needed these appointments due to the fact that I was moving the next week. I had an hour and 30 min drive there. I was 45 minutes into my drive and I got a call saying I need to reschedule my appointments, the lady put me on hold then after a few minutes I got circled back up to the receptionist and she was so rude! She told me that she wasn’t talking to me and then hung up on me. The lady I was talking to called me back about 15 minutes later and by that time I had turned around from not hearing from anyone. She said she didn’t have any appointments til after I would have left the state, she stated she would call me back in a few minutes. She called me back the next day not giving me any new appointment times available but saying she’d check again. She then called me the next day and repeated the same thing. This was very frustrating and I was not happy with the service due to the fact that this was dealing with chest pain and could be a bigger problem for my health.

Excellent care during my recent hospitalization (10/4-10/11).I'm from NY State and was impressed by the kind, competent staff. True Southern hospitality! I came in by ambulance with a head injury after a fall. Great trauma unit.

Doctor Robert Kelly is a very kind, caring and compassionate Doctor. He went above and beyond to repair my three hernias. One was blocked up and he performed surgery on me ASAP and has really giving me my life back from the pain I had with the hernias. He did a great job in communicating with me every step of the process. His after survey care is even greater. He has a great heart and a great surgeon. Memorial health University should be proud to be partnered with this man. He is very supportive in every concern that I had and explained everything in terms that I could understand. Thank you for giving my freedom back to me without pain.

Staff was very nice, However, I did not recv any information a out what to expect, no food or beverage for 2 days except 1 bottle water after stress test. A female hospitality who was not proficient in English came by afternoon day 2. Did not understand anything she said, neither did nurse. Placed stethoscope on chest for 2 seconds and left. Report states there 30 min, but not more than 2 or 3. My 1st time there. Not a "feel better" experience.

I have been in the hospital twice once in November 2022 while here on vacation then again after I moved here in 2023 and been through the E.R. I give everyone I have come in contact with all gold stars 100% rating. They all care take time talk with patient lift the patient when down and worried. They go above their work to help. Last time I was in E.R. I was joking and laughing with the staff. Tho I was in sever pain and sick I still try keep smile joke and laugh I'm not one to give up. The staff all deserve high recognition.

My wife and I found out August 14th 2023 that our unborn daughter's kidneys did not function and that caused her lungs not to fully develop. It was a lethal condition. And my wife had to deliver our daughter knowing we would not be able to bring her home. The high risk pregnancy team and all of the labor and delivery team, doctors and nurses, were so good to us. They eased our fears and showed so much respect and caring in everything they did. I am so thankful to the team who took care of us these last few days. I can't even put into words how thankful I am to all of them. They took the worst day of my wife's and my life and helped us to find closure and peace. Great facility and the most awesome people.

Excellent experience....the nursing staff and the surgeon (Dr.Ellis Barns)treated me like family. Best post operation care provided by hard working ,expert and caring nursing staff. As a visitor in Savannah I'll appreciate their expertise and caring attitude towards all thier patients. I also received a Get well soon card from the nursing staff that was very motivating for me after the emergency surgery in a new place. Dr.Ellis Barns explained everything to me so nicely that i feel relaxed and comfortable. Great job and keep up the good work. 👍🏻

Dr. Greene and the memorial team were absolutely amazing. I had to have my first c section and everyone made sure that I was informed, encouraged, and most importantly comfortable. We welcomed our sweet baby boy with minimal issues and we were released early with no complications.

I was so dreading my annual mammogram. I really thought to skip it, but my daughter convinced me to go. I am so glad I did. The whole experience was quick, efficient and it really wasn't too uncomfortable. My technician was great! I came early to my appointment and was seen right away.

Went in for a Day surgery and spent 1 night. Had the BEST care that I have EVER received anywhere! From the surgeon (Dr. Whipple) to the nurses - everyone was TOP notch. They actually cared about how I was feeling and whether I was comfortable by being very attentive to every need.

Please don’t go the emergency room in this house.. For the second time I was left in a corner somewhere for hours without anyone acknowledging my existence, the nurses and doctors were just passing by like I was invisible. I kept asking them for help to use the bathroom but acted like they couldn’t hear me. I was very sick and weak even my voice was very weak so I couldn’t raise it so I kept trying to get the attention of the nurses walking by, My IV was hooked on the bed so I couldn’t drag it to go to the bathroom with it I just needed someone to take it out because it was empty for the last couple of hours. I was desperate until I saw another patient walking by me and I asked him to call a nurse for me. The nurse finally came took it off and I was able to go.. it’s just the worst experience I’ve ever experienced in a hospital

I am 59. I went to the emergency room for a potential staph infection. They got me in and turned around in remarkable time. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful. I personally am afraid of the white coats and I thought perhaps they were a bit quick to dismiss me without a blood test. Regardless, I am on the meds and getting better. My son accidentally packed my meds and left. I called the ER in a panic. Kevin helped but I was disconnected before anything was confirmed. The next day the pharmacy called with the prescription. Very nice!

  • 1/5 Valerie D. 11 months ago on Google
The care is fine but billing is horrible. They have owed me money after not checking into my insurance properly and now I can't get anyone to address it. It's been months and I either get disconnected, put on forever hold, or when I go down there in person a supervisor is conveniently on vacation. I'm not talking a few dollars eiher. Make sure you know every single dollar you will owe before even thinking of going there. Have proof because I wasn't able to when I was there. It's impossible. Truly cannot handle the months of frustration trying to get someone to handle this.

Dr. Burkes was so awesome, I loved how he explained everything to me and made me feel more comfortable about my surgery. From nurses to cafeteria staff was amazing. This one nurse name Sarah in the recovery room came in on night shift and made me feel as if she really cared about me. She was so concerned and compassionate about her job. So thanks to all the Staff at Memorial Health University Medical Center you guys made my day stay wonderful. God Bless you all!

There are too many patients on hospital beds, not enough rooms. After you are registered and your vitals are taken. It take two hours before they start on lab work, then you wait to go to x-rays together it's 90 minutes. Now you sit there 60 minutes for results, then you get treated. In all for a non-emergency visit is 5 hours which should have taken 2 hours. I had to listen to patients beening disrespected , bullied. Caregivers, family were wondering around with no tag announcing who they are. Too many things can go wrong when visitors are not listed. Staff is sitting on around having loud personal conversations not looking unprofessional. I should have gone to Urgent Care.
