😠 Terrible place to work. The whole VA and surrounding area is filthy, disgusting, lawless, and just plain horrible place to work and/or visit. Traffic is horrendous, drivers are rude and downright dangerous. There is no police presence until AFTER something occurs. The streets are filled with homeles... People often mention work,

Terrible place to work. The whole VA and surrounding area is filthy, disgusting, lawless, and just plain horrible place to work and/or visit. Traffic is horrendous, drivers are rude and downright dangerous. There is no police presence until AFTER something occurs. The streets are filled with homeless, and drug deals are out in the open. Population is not afraid of cops; cops seem to be afraid of the general population. Beggars at main intersections with garbage and other debris filling the sides of the roads. If you're passing through, don't stop. Seriously, it's dirty and dangerous. It's not a place for civilized human beings and the people who live and work in that area seem to be inured to it all.

Most of the workers are top-notch and seem to care about us (veterans). However, after observing a radiology report that said "normal... for a premenopausal female.", I highly doubt the integrity of its doctors since I am 68 years old and went into menopause when I was 44. If doctors can't be bothered with checking the file of the case they are observing before giving their prognosis, they need to change careers.

This is an excellent facility checking in was easy with helpful staff on hand to help me to my first appointment. I arrived early and as circumstances dictated I was seen early by dr. Wolters who is tops in his profession as far as I'm concerned. From there I went to my next appointment which worked perfectly. I was treated with respect and help by everyone.

Everytime I call to this place, the operators always direct me to a dead end number. It seems that most of thier front desk and operators can't operate a phone transfer or their directory is just messed up. The emergency doctor in night shift also lacks detail at work that the nurse had to call him twice just to ask me a question that hasn't been asked before... I mean if ur a doctor, does ur nurse really have to remind you to do stuff? And after all that, he has to say "thank you for your service" annoyingly repeatedly.

Horrible customer service. Rude and unprofessional phone operators. So glad I don’t go through this VA anymore.

I've been a family member with the Eastern Kansas Medical Center, Behavioral Health, and Domicilary for years. I describe the facilities as being best obtainable, in what they do, to be my VA home of choice.

They have really added to the hospital , to definitely make it user friendly. They have increased parking that was desperately needed. They have built new buildings to help take away from the business of the hospital. Good work

Have always got good care. It's the phone system you have a problem with. Can't ever talk to your primary nurse. Just a nurse on duty elsewhere. They say they'll get back with you in 24 hours. Its days and weeks before that happens. Weeks several times. If I needed something the next day, I would of called them. Why can't we talk to our primary nurse or doctor, that formulary with my health.

The VA is my go-to for all my health care needs. I love the people who work to serve the military and veteran population.

Good place to go once you're in the VA's system. You can get access to a lot for your military health records.
