My child has been at Pendergrass since 4 years old. As a parent thought it was important for him to learn self-defense techniques in order to be proactive if he encounters a potential bully. Pendergrass Staff are family oriented & provide a great environment. They offer free trials before any commitment. They are constantly growing & expanding. They have the highest Google reviews that speak for itself.

My experience at Pendergrass Academy was nothing short of phenomenal. As someone visiting from out of town, I was amazed by the warm and inviting atmosphere that greeted me from the moment I stepped through the doors. The staff and instructors were incredibly welcoming, making me feel like a member of their school right away. The quality of instruction was unparalleled. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also fantastic at imparting their knowledge in an engaging and understandable manner. They pay attention to individual needs and skill levels, ensuring that everyone, including newcomers, feel comfortable and supported. I can’t thank Professors Rob and Guy enough for the incredible experience during my visit. If you’re in the area or just passing through, I highly recommend dropping by. It’s definitely worth the visit!

We found PAMA at the beginning of 2022. From the initial contact - to now my son has progressed to their Elite program, I'm so thankful for this facility and staff. They really focus on creating a family environment and building up each child to become the best that they can be. As a mom, I'm so incredibly grateful for a facility that my son can thrive in. Thanks PAMA!

Our son loves training at Pendergrass and is happy to be a part of their program. He came to help with his confidence and strength for basketball. Guy, Rob, and Boo are all great instructors for the kids. Sue is great with communication and answers any questions we've had. There are plenty of fun events like in house tournaments and parents night out.

Pama is great. Higher belts take the time to teach. The classes have a good flow and the staff is prideful in their work. It's really good exercise and you always leave class feeling better. For those thinking you can't do this, I had to step out and throw up my first few classes. You can do it.

Pendergrass isn’t just where my son trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, it’s our family and our second home! Thankful for Guy, Rob, Boo, Sue, and Casey for welcoming us into their BJJ home on a daily basis!! The training part is the bonus!! We love our PAMA family!! 🖤❤️

I cannot say enough great thing's about Pendergrass Academy. Soon as I walked in I felt welcome. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. My schedule is very busy, but the staff has helped with classes that fit into my schedule. The instructors are very well educated and also take the time to walk you through different techniques. I highly recommend Pendergrass Academy for your martial arts needs. You will not be disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience at the Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts! It was my first formal class for BJJ and it couldn’t have gone better. The instruction, demonstration, and practice was detailed and relatable. The instructor was friendly, knowledgeable, and focused on techniques I could improve on in the future. I would highly recommend anyone considering a new BJJ gym to try Pendergrass (PAMA)!

My husband has been attending PAMA for months now- its great marriage therapy! Haha. (If paid a year in advance, there's a great discount!)

Nice people here all the time. I have tried other gyms around the area and they don't hold up. Good instructors, nice members, and a great learning environment. It's super easy to ask for help. Love it!

Had a great experience during a drop in class while working in Raleigh. Sue in the front of the house is amazing, and laid out the red carpet for me! Amazing, clean facility, and everyone there was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Great school, can’t wait to go back!

I have been practicing Brazilian Jiujitsu for almost 12 years and have been a part of the local martial arts community the entire time. Pendergrass welcomed me to their gym. Guy and Rob, the head instructors, give clear and practical instruction based on teachings passed to them from some of the most respected practitioners in the world. They genuinely care about not only the student's progression but their happiness with their training. It is a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I'm happy to be here.

I was visiting the area over the holidays and dropped in at this gym for two classes in the same night. Everyone at the gym was incredibly welcoming, professional, and fun to train with! The gym is extremely well organized and clean. The instructors were enjoyable and really knew how to teach by breaking down the take down and wrestling concepts they were teaching that week. If I still lived in the area this would be the gym I would train at full-time. Excellent bunch of folks. Give them a try!

I've trained at my schools, and I can say with certainty that PAMA provides the best technical instruction I've ever received. Rob, Guy and the PAMA staff are professional, yet not too serious as to take the fun out of the sport. I've thoroughly enjoyed my training time at PAMA, and recommend this school without qualification.

I like to get to know a school for a while before giving a review. That said, I've been training in PAMA's BJJ program for about a year now. I came to this school as a 2 stripe blue belt and have had training from several different places over the years. I can say honestly that the Pendergrass brothers have succeeded at creating and continuously cultivating an amazing environment for learning. You feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. And regardless of whether you've never trained before or have been training for decades, there is something here to learn and grow in for everyone. The instructors are patient, love what they do and can break down concepts in ways anyone can understand. The culture here at PAMA is consistently positive and inclusive. Classes are organized well and more experienced students (upper belts) are always willing to help those looking for guidance. If you're looking for a place to train, just stop by PAMA and see for yourself.

I recently moved to the area and dropped by to check out the bjj classes. I've been training bjj for the better part of a decade and can say without a doubt that this has been one of the most welcoming gyms I've ever experienced. Great instruction with a good mix of belt levels that gives everyone an opportunity to learn.

This is a great to train both mind and body in the art of BJJ. The main instructors, Guy and Rob, are knowledge and care about their students. I was particularly impressed that they (and other instructors) already knew my name despite not having formally introduced myself to them. That’s a little thing, but it meant they want to know who is coming to their facility. As well, the other students, particularly the upper belts, are great training partners. In my experience, they know when to go hard and also when to help a beginner out. PAMA is an excellent place to train and to be a part of a community looking to improve themselves on and off the mats.
