My son attends Jeff Hunt’s karate school and he is awesome. He’s not just a karate instructor, he’s a positive role model, he loves the children and is very patient & assertive with them. I love that he prays before and after class 🙌🏽This is the 3rd Karate school my son has been in and he absolutely love this one and looks forward to each class. Highly recommended 👍🏾

I’ve been fortunate enough to join Jeff Hunt Kickboxing Club approximately six months ago. At the time that I joined, my health was not the best. My blood pressure was elevated, cholesterol was high and at risk of contracting diabetes. We had serious concerns about my health and discussed how it should be cautiously approached. Since we began working out, I’ve lost approximately twenty five pounds and feel so much better because my health has improved significantly.; lowered blood pressure, cholesterol and signs of diabetes are erased. I’m eating healthier along with regular exercise and state of mind. We start and finish all classes with a prayer and a positive mindset. What a wonderful environment to be in! Jeff Hunt has been committed to his craft from an early age. He is dedicated and professional and focused on providing a well-rounded experience for kids, focusing on the craft and also the full experience. Students are encouraged to exercise self control, put God first and also do well in school. Education is a main focus for Sensei Hunt, as students are required to provide updates on school performance as well. In addition to what his expertise offers to students, he provides an excellent kickboxing and self defense class for adults. Awesome karate school and awesome instructor!

I first want to thank the Lord for inspiring me to let my daughter engage in karate with a Christian institution teaching her self discipline and how to control one’s temperament. My child was always skinny and picked on from primary school all the way to university. She was always underestimated when it came to her strength and skillfulness. I want to let everyone know I’m proud of her and what she has learned here at Jeff Hunt Shotokan. She had anger problems as well but Jeff did not tolerate it. She tries to avoid as much encounters as she possibly could; But those that decided to pursue her, had a rude awakening of her talents and skillfulness. She has set many examples to those that wanted to break her bones and see her hurt. Do not underestimate the power of a well trained karate student. With both males and females Tripple her size, she was able to defend herself at all times while keeping her composure. Thank you Jeff Hunt for all the trainings and long sit downs you gave to my daughter; Self control, Self respect and self defense. She was also taught a little bit of kickboxing. Jeff Hunt Shotokan Karate is the best karate school in Queens on Merrick Ave. I Thank God for the training she obtained. She used it well on a few “necessary” occasions.

Sensei Jeff Hunt is the epitome of discipline, excellence, patience & charisma. As much as he requires those attributes from all his students, he most of all demands them from himself. His students learn that patience is companion of success & the universal technique to execute any move is to first use the brains. Karate/fighting should always be the last resort. I want to first say thank you god For having me find this karate school. This is the best place for your child hands down. Especially if they have a abundance of energy. Sensei has so much patience and spirit he is the best when it comes to his children. In his Dojo God come first he makes the children work for their accomplishments. The children are not only motivated in his class but also Outside of the dojo. My son has been going here for almost 4 months and his attitude abs attention has changed tremendously. Sensei Hunt is a great instructor he’s very attentive to his students and acts as a great mentor. He promotes leadership in his students and holds them accountable for any subpar work. Great school to learn martial arts would definitely recommend.

Our family has had 5 of our children attend the JH Karate School. It has been one of the greatest investments for them health wise, mentally, academically, and character wise. Sensei Hunt continues to build future leaders, scholars, and martial artists. Having our children attend his school helped give us peace of mind in this chaotic world. I was invited by Mr. Hunt to view the session one evening and give my husband some support. My intention was to stay a few minutes and head out. I ended up staying to observe the entire class! The workout session was extremely intense from beginning to end! No nonsense and mutual respect from Mr. Hunt to his adult students whom I observed. Although they are encouraged to pace themselves, they are all held to very high standards of performance and are rated with every level of participation. There are not enough words or stars to express my gratitude to Sensei Jeff Hunt. This karate school is a hidden gem in Jamaica Queens. I have been bringing my children here for over 12 years. Both of my sons have accelerated to the level of black belt but not without hard work and determination. Jeff Hunt is not just a karate teacher he is a mentor, father figure and an Elder. Jeff Hunt has created a professional nurturing and loving environment. This school is a family the children have a bond and a sense of community. They have not only learned to respect each other, carry themselves inside and outside the dojo with godly character but to also share and give back the tools they have learned. One of my boys has a learning disability and through the discipline of Jeff Hunt he has learned to listen focus pay attention which has impacted his social emotional and educational learning. Most important each child walks away with a sense of accomplishment knowing that it’s not how you start it’s how you FINISH!
