An amazing gym for both Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. Ive trained in several different styles including my 6 years in the Marine Corps Martial Arts program and this gym is filled with great instructors with a healthy attitude towards training. I personally train here with all 3 of my kids and i wouldn't go anywhere else.

They had no issues being patient and understanding of my kiddos being brand new. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and more importantly, the kiddos loved it. Will be coming back so they can teach the little ones.

Professor Turner excels in teaching the fundamentals. His attention to detail and ability to break down techniques make even the most complex moves easy to understand. His passion for martial arts is infectious, and he's always encouraging students to push their limits.

I can't speak highly enough about my experience at Martial Arts of Waco. Professor Turner and Professor Jerry have been instrumental in my journey to becoming a better martial artist. Their combined years of experience, knowledge, and teaching skills are a rare find and they both bring unique styles to the mat.

Professor Jerry, on the other hand, brings an incredible energy to the advanced classes. His dynamic teaching style incorporates real-world applications that make the lessons both practical and engaging. He emphasizes the philosophy behind the movements, which has added a whole new layer to my understanding of martial arts.

Very family oriented. Professional Turner and the other coaches keep the kids engaged, focused but also still having a positive learning experience. The coaches are tough when needed but with a helping and firm hand. My 8 year old and 5 year old sons love it!

As someone who was new to Jiu Jitsu I have nothing but a positive experience training at Martial Arts Waco over the last 3 months. Professor Turner is knowledgeable, welcoming, and all round a good teacher. The other students are respectful and welcoming as well. I just wish there were more class times.

My son was having problems with school and just could not make friends. After just a few months we started seeing improvements. Now about 6 months later he has friends, he's happy and his grades have improved. I truly believe the improvements are in large part thanks to Professor Turner and his team.

The group at Martial Arts of Waco is amazing! They came and did a self defense class for our sorority sisterhood event and we learned so much in the 1.5 hour time frame we had with them! Such a nice team and we learned so much!

I got the privilege to train at this gym a few weeks ago while on business travel and Professor Turner welcomed me with open arms. I was only able to train for 1 day, but I was lucky enough to be able to attend both gi and no gi jiujitsu classes. The only thing I was bummed about is that his classes were only 1 hour long! If you live in the area or traveling through and want a clean school with a great culture, teaching, and giant Texans (looking at you Ty), stop by for a visit, you won't be disappointed. Thank you for welcoming me Professor! I look forward to seeing y'all again the next time I'm in town!

Martial Arts of Waco came to Baylor to teach our sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, the basics of self defense. We had a great time! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the entire chapter felt empowered to defend themselves and motivated to learn more about martial arts.

Professor Turner has created an outstanding learning environment for both adults and children. The atmosphere is open, accepting, and encouraging. Everyone I have encountered at the gym has been extremely supportive. I am so happy my family and I found this place. If you are thinking about training BJJ or Muay Thai in this area, give it a try! Highly recommend.

This place doesn’t compare. Prof Turner not only teaches the kids the art, but also character essentials for life (like how to be humble). My son is learning how to balance his physical strength, while growing his mental strength. Turner isn’t a “participant trophy” type coach- which I love. You learn, you practice, you fail, and practice more… when you get that stripe, you have definitely earned that stripe. He’s tough, which is what kids need. Additionally, I’ve seen adults work in his “open gym” time. I am equally impressed. They check their egos at the door and help each other to grow and be their very best, still while being their strongest versions of themselves. This is the best place in Waco.

Our daughter just started about a month ago and loves it! She was a little shy to start but they have welcomed her right in to the family. Great atmosphere with great instructors, tough when needed but also very caring. Would highly recommend for any age.

Professor Turner and his team are amazing. My child struggles with behavioral issues and defiance disorder, but ever since we tried out jujitsu at Martial Arts Of Waco, We have seen a big difference in his attitude towards life, behavior, and just his overall well-being has changed for the better. Thanks to the team at Martial Arts of Waco. We will continue to attend. We love it.

Best MMA, Jujitsu, kickboxing Gym in Waco! Been in a minute now and I’ve leaned more than I ever thought i would have. Great environment, great energy, and very helpful! Might as well be a second home. Don’t knock it till you try it, you never know what you might be capable of. To add, the instructors are great with teaching kids! Try it, I dare you!

My 13 y/o son and I have been training with Martial Arts of Waco for about 3 months, and we both strongly recommend it! Professor's Turner and Boroff (and the assistant instructors) provide knowledgeable instruction and passionate encouragement in a family friendly environment. Equally important, this academy promotes a culture that emphasizes building strong character through smart, safe, yet challenging training. Whether you’re goal is to simply get introduced to training in a combat sport or it’s to find an academy to further develop your current skill set, I’m confident that Martial Arts of Waco can help you just as it has for my son and me.

Professor Turner is a master at the craft and an extremely patient teacher. The environment is very relaxed and comfortable and all the members have a strong camaraderie. Great gym to just train as a hobby or to get tournament ready and compete at any level of bjj.

When I reached out to Coach Turner about dropping in, he welcomed me with wide open arms. Great details in his teachings. He teaches in series from a particular position so you can have many different options depending on what you or your opponent does. As you guys know, this brings up the % of attacking successfully. The hospitality of everyone was so warm and genuine. I Recommend this school for anyone! Also like that they do gi and then no gi right afterwards.

Beyond the instruction, the facilities are top-notch—clean, well-equipped, and spacious. But what really makes Martial Arts of Waco stand out is the community. Both instructors foster a positive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.
