Don't give it a second thought. My wife and I have been married 39 years. We have always enjoyed Salsa music but our 2 left feet always kept us off the dance floor. My daughter was getting married and we know that there will be salsa music played almost exclusively. It was then we decided that we would not sit out this important life event and decided to take salsa lessons. We tried a very well known "corporate" company but we were not at all satisfied. I called a friend and she recommended Steve from NJ Salsa. I will forever be grateful to her for this introduction. In a very short period of time we were up and dancing learning the basics and then middle of the road to some very intricate moves. We were watchers and wishers, we used to watch people do their thing and used to wish we could do it. My wife and I never envisioned dancing like we do together now. We just never thought we could do it. Steve is very professional, knowledgeable and most of all very patient. He has a very caring way about him and it's instantly evident that he really enjoys what he does. Steve has gotten us ready and more importantly confident for our daughters wedding and in fact has become a big part of our lives. I have only ever written 3 reviews total because I just don't like doing it, however I felt compelled to write this review due to the joy Steve has added to our lives. My wife and I now spend more time together than ever before and are enjoying practicing together a few times a week! I want to thank Steve and tell you don't even hesitate...just do it..you won't regret it!!

NJSalsa is without a doubt one of the best places to learn Kizomba, Bachata, Salsa on 1 and/or salsa on 2 in New Jersey. You will be surrounded by cheerful, artistic people who come from the same and also from different backgrounds which makes your lessons rewarding and pleasurable. Since everyone is on the same boat, you will enjoy laughing together when you mess up but will also receive encouragement from each other as you grow in a group. Personally, I’ve been fortunate to build beautiful relationships with friends in my class group as everyone in the NJSalsa community is so welcoming and so very inclusive. We all love the lessons as well as the socials we participate in during the week. Steve is an exceptional teacher. He offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons so if you are looking to learn a new dancing skill or improve what you already know, he’s got you covered. Overall, I recommend NJSalsa to my family, coworkers, and friends as it’s a very healthy environment where we as adults can have a little bit of fun learning to dance and at the same time we get a chance to socialize and create new friendships.

After a painful divorce I needed a catalyst for my journey to freedom and self-love — enter NJ Salsa. From my first conversation with Steve Santos I knew that NJ Salsa was going to change my life in a way that would unlock powers within me that had been hidden beneath the surface for a very long time. Steve is an AMAZING instructor - he cares about his students and genuinely wants them to do well. He’s patient, provides constructive feedback and uses a teaching style that is easy to follow. What has kept me consistently driving from Central NJ to Elizabeth/Newark 2-3 days a week for lessons and socials is that Steve is keen on building a family-centric community by way of his classes. I am forever grateful for the new sense of freedom, increase in self-confidence, and social connections I’ve gained because of NJ Salsa. And yes, I’m way better on the dance floor 😂😂😂 #salsaislife

NJ Salsa has helped me on my journey and goal of obtaining work/life balance and my love for dancing. NJ Salsa provides me with the ability to have clean fun while learning Salsa both in the group lounge/club settings. Steve is a great and patient teacher. His passion for dance shows in how he teaches. He not only teach dance steps but the reason behind the dance moves. I’ve grown a lot not only in dance but also as an individual since joining. I would definitely encourage anyone interested in improving their work/life balance or just interested in dancing to Latin music to come and join the NJ Salsa community! 💃🏾

I found NJ salsa after a year long dance sabbatical. I took lessons in the past and I've been to multiple group classes but nothing like NJ Salsa. It was one of the best investments I've done to my amateur dancing career. I had the opportunity to take privates with Steve. He was able to enhanced what I already knew and allowed me integrate a new and more creative style. The group classes are amazing and the energy of the people that NJ Salsa brings together is unparalleled. I defenitely recommend this place to both experience dancers and beginners.

Steve is a wonderful person first, makes you feel like you are his only student. The group lessons are awesome you learn something each time whether you are a beginner or advanced. I have also had the privilege of taken private lessons, which are amazing. Steve will get you moving and dancing like a Pro whether in group lessons or private, you will be on the dance with confidence. You will also gain a great group of friends as Steve keeps us out on social events sharpening our skills.

Steve helped us with our wedding dance choreography and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Within a short amount of time, we went from knowing very basic Bachata to being able to perform a choreographed dance that both my fiance and I didn't think we'd be able to initially perform! Steve teaches in a way that's easy to understand, he's flexible, and attentive. Highly recommended!

NJSalsa is more than learning how to dance salsa, bachata or kizomba. It is a welcoming community for anyone who’s willing to open themselves up to it. I was first introduced by attending the free Tuesday class at Lobby. I was immediately hooked by Steve’s teaching style. His calm and patient demeanor, despite it being a packed room, allowed me (who knew nothing) to walk out learning something new. This convinced me to sign up for the group classes. But what kept me going and allowed me to exponentially improve my dancing skills was the community I found in NJSalsa. Doesn’t matter what age, where you’re from or how much you already know, everyone understands the vulnerable spot we’ve chosen to put ourselves in. With that, I’ve found myself with a new group of amazing friends who provide me with feedback while encouraging and celebrating me every step of the way. Dancing has improved my life in more ways than I would have anticipated. It has given me confidence, helped with my mental health, and allowed me to connect with people from all different walks of life. I couldn’t be more thankful for NJSalsa and the impact it has made on me. I hope to continue to be part of this community for years to come and to pay it forward by sharing my love for dancing with others all over the world the way NJSalsa has done for me.

I took lessons at different studios for months prior to joining NJ Salsa and none compared. At NJ Salsa, you will learn to dance salsa, bachata and kizomba, attend socials , make friends, and belong to a community of salsa lovers . My life has literally been transformed from sitting on the sidelines to being on the dance floor and dancing salsa several times a week, thanks to Steve and community he built. I would recommend NJ Salsa to anyone to looking to take lessons.

Joining NJ Salsa has been one of the best decisions of my life ! I can't say enough good things about Steve Santos or the NJ Salsa community. I had been wanting to start taking salsa lessons for years and finally did it June of 2022. My niece had heard good things about NJ Salsa and recommended I reach out. Steve was amazing from the moment I reached out to him. He was friendly, super informative, patient and extremely professional. I started taking Monday Salsa level 1 in the Elizabeth Studio and soon after added second class on Friday at Lit 21. In addition I took private lessons with Steve for a few months and most recently started taking bachata classes too. Steve is extremely patient with his students and always makes everyone feel at ease and provides individual feedback .The socials and special events at Lit 21 and the Lobby are so much fun. The community is very welcoming . I have made great friends . NJ Salsa has become a big part of my life. I hope to be dancing forever . Thank you Steve!!

NJ Salsa, led by the talented instructor Steve, offers an extraordinary salsa and bachata experience. Steve's expertise and patient teaching style cater to beginners(like myself), taking them from the very basics to advanced levels. What sets NJ Salsa apart is their focus on social meet-up dances, which foster a vibrant community and provide invaluable opportunities for practice and connection. It has been just about 4 weeks for me and so far I love it! Highly recommend if you're just getting into dancing/social/art. The sense of community at NJ Salsa is exceptional too. Steve brings together current and past students, including experts, creating a dynamic learning environment. This integration of different skill levels encourages growth and fosters a supportive atmosphere. It's evident that Steve believes salsa and bachata are not just about the dance moves but also about the connections we forge with others. It's a place where salsa and bachata become art forms that bring people together. Steve's commitment to teaching, building a thriving community, and creating a welcoming atmosphere is truly inspiring. If you're looking to embark on a transformative journey into the world of salsa and bachata, NJ Salsa is the perfect place to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for these captivating dance styles.

Steve was an amazing instructor. My wife and I had no experience in dancing salsa and Steve made us feel comfortable without being too pushy or hands off. We would recommend Steve to anyone hoping to learn salsa regardless of your experience.
