I was impressed with this "create your own" style Indian restaurant. The owner was authentic, enthusiastic, and personable. The food was fresh; the flavors were individualistic and still blended well together. The "street food" side of the menu they make fresh on-demand. If you're looking for a new Indian food favorite, I recommend you give this place a try.

For semi-fast food, this is pretty tasty Indian food. We got the butter chicken Marsala and tikka Marsala bowls, with naan, and both had pretty good flavor. The butter chicken was a bit better, as the tikka Marsala seemed to be a tad salty. But I would definitely come again!

So delicious! My pregnancy cravings led me here and I’m so glad me & my toddler were able to taste the yummy Indian bowls! Everything was so flavorful & everyone was so kind. Toddler approved!

This is the real deal. The flavors are amazing and have so much depth. The lamb is the best I have had in Salt Lake! Hands down- 7 hours cooked with bone in; the tenderness and flavor is unparalleled. Get here. The portions are generous as well. Great job guys.

Very tasty place! Highly recommend it. I went ahead and did the build your own plate and got the tandoori chicken and tried both the tikka masala and butter masala sauces along with their suggestion for toppings. So tasty, and the garlic butter naan bread was delicious too.

If you are looking for delicious Indian food and you are in a hurry, then you need to come to Makam’s in Millcreek. This place is excellent! I had chicken with coconut korma and it was superb. The cheese garlic naan is super scrumptious. They have a good selection of canned soft drinks and kombucha as well. The restaurant is fast casual; the dining area was clean with relaxing muscling playing. If you’re new to Indian food or it’s something you eat all the time, you need to come on down to Makam’s. You’ll love it!!!

Very glad I found this place. I travel for work and am always looking for great places to come back to. Makam's nails it - great service, delicious flavors. You really can't go wrong. I got the build your own entree and mostly took the recommendations based off of the chicken/lamb combo I wanted. I foegot to take a picture of my chicken momos, but the sauce was amazing and the perfect amount of spicy. Great place to eat if you get the chance!

HONESTLY New fav Indian place! I can’t believe this place wasn’t slammed, their food was incredible and the workers were so kind and helpful! You can build your own bowl so the service is super fast. Go visit them! Highly recommend the garlic cheese naan

A friend of mine recommended this place as Indian "Chipotle", and that description was very accurate. We had the bowl which was quickly assembled down the line. I had the plate which included 2 proteins and topings. The combination between the tender lamb and chicken was excellent. The sauce and toppings were not over powering. The butter garlic naans were made to order, which was also tasty. Very good meal for a good value!

Was surprised by the number of 5-star reviews, so we had to try it. In my opinion, it didn’t live up to the hype. We ordered some chicken saag in a rice bowl, some chicken masala in a rice bowl, a garlic naan, and a cheese naan. The curry rice bowls are mid, and leave me wanting better texture and more flavor. L The naan was awesome. You’d be hard-pressed to find decent naan at such a great price. I’d return for that alone. In summary, the curry rice bowls are a 3, and the naan is a 5. If we come back, I think we’d try a wrap or something like that. The fast-casual dining experience doesn’t seem to lend itself to curry.

If I could give this place more than five stars hands-down I would, I would give it 10 stars! The food is amazing! The service is incredible! And the price is perfect! If you’re considering this place stop thinking about it and just go!

The most delicious Indian food you'll ever have. Why am I so sure? I lived in Houston for more than 5 years, dated a girl who's parents were from Egypt and Pakistan for most of that time, and I enjoyed a lot of home-cooked meals with her family. As soon as you step through the door at Makam's you're hit with the strong, delicious smell of a medley of herbs and spices. If you don't know what to order, they'll help you. All of the food on the menu comes spicy, except for the "Build Your Own" menu and the desserts. If you need an entree that isn't going to make you cry, choose from the "Build Your Own" menu. They will gladly help you make something delicious that's all within your spice tolerance. My two year old loves the food as much as my wife and I do, and he's able to handle her "Build Your Own" bowl. The only thing he doesn't eat from her bowl are the veggies because they have a little heat. I'm sure there are other Indian places in SLC (my wife and I have tried about 7 other places before we found Makam's), but you're robbing yourself of the delectable cuisine at Makam's that will fill your belly and fill you with sheer joy.

Continues to be my favorite Indian spot in Utah. Very rich favors, reasonable prices, fresh taste. I think they make a lot of dishes from scratch which makes it taste very authentic. If you’re new to this place I very much recommend the indo-Chinese dishes

First time coming here, and we loved it! The food and service was great. The restroom could use a little TLC, but the stall was handicap accessible. The restaurant was clean and organized with only two men running the place. They were friendly, personable and fast! Definitely going to be coming back! Probably the best mango lassie I've ever had!

This place has the best butter chicken I've had in Utah. The chicken is great quality and super soft. I love the flavors. The butter naan is big and tasty. If you want your food mild or comes that way. You can request spicy and they'll add some heat to it. There's plenty of parking. Kid friendly. For 5 of us we had two bowls and 3 butter naan. Was just enough for us. Overall I really enjoyed the food. Having lived in a middle eastern country before I miss this kind of food. It hits the spot!

This place has amazing quality food. My significant other and I got 2 Naans and 2 build your own bowls. The person behind the counter was friendly and very knowledgeable about what to recommend, he even let us try some of the sauces before we decided what to put on our bowls. Genuinely, delicious food, friendly service, and peaceful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for anyone who’s looking for high quality Indian food to share with a friend.

Check this place out! Food was really good and the server was super friendly and helpful. He explained how the build your own bowls/plates work and had suggestions for what would taste good together. The naan is made fresh to order and so tasty. Will definitely be coming here again.

We went here by chance the other day and I’m glad we did. They were out of a few of the menu items, but I enjoyed what I ordered. The food is served pre-cooked so it’s fast to order. You choose the base, protein, sauce, and toppings. The Mango Lassi was delicious and the service was great. The meat was a little dry, but I think that’s normal when you’re served buffet style.

Quality food, authentic taste. Some of the preparations are so good that I can’t remember when I had such tasty food. Dahi puri, tandoori kabob, and steamed minis are must to try. Atmosphere is not so great but food compensated for that.

I came here for a quick work lunch. If you want fast and yummy Indian food, this is the place to go. I actually didn’t get a build your own bowl. I ordered chicken tandoori and this dish was made to order. The chicken is very flavorful and juicy. It’s a good sized portion for lunch.

The street food (we had samosas) was so good. The sauce that comes with it is super flavorful and delicious! Garlic naan too was fresh and flavorful. Next time I will order just street food. The food that is up front like the bowls has less flavor and spice than I usually prefer with Indian cuisine, but it’s still good. Your best bet though is to get something they’ll make fresh and hot, it’s worth it! Staff service is excellent, and the atmosphere is so welcoming and cozy!
