Had such a wonderful experience getting my running shoes today at Xtra Mile. Kennon was super helpful and knowledgeable, and he helped me find the perfect type of shoe I was looking for.

Chris really knows running. I went in today and got fitted for running shoes. Chris started with measuring my foot, analyzed my gait, reviewed my running stance, educated on the best shoe that fits running style and stance. He also provided great advice on running and cool down exercises. I couldn't decide on which shoe so I purchased them both. I will definitely be back!

Xtra Mile staffs experienced and knowledgeable employees who are really passionate and are experts on shoes and products. I come here for shoes, gear, and nutrition and am always grateful for the excellent service. This is the absolutely the best running store in all of Chicago and they do so much to support the local community!

Name says it all. I came in looking to get fitted for running shoes after finally getting cleared from my doctors following a meniscus tear and surgery. I really felt comfortable with the knowledge or each brand and shoe and he pointed me in the direction of a few different types and helped explain the pros and cons of each , especially for my recovery. He also took video of both the back and side while I ran 30 seconds in the treadmill to see any issues that I may need to compensate for in form or arch with the shoes. He also was honest when I asked about some other products and told me I could get them cheaper online (compression sleeves for calves) than what he had since I am just starting back up and the ones he sold were much more advanced than what I needed so he didn’t try to upsell me on something I didn’t need. 100% will be coming back to get my next pair and they even had the brand I had previously used (ON ) but he had some others that he picked out to compare that I liked even better. Friendly service and you could tell he had repeat customers who came in just to chat and say hi too. I would definitely recommend this over a big box store if you are interested in running or just starting to expand how many miles you do as the proper fit and shoe makes all the difference to many people!

Incredible experience. I was looking for a locally owned shop because I've learned these types of places are much more knowledgeable then any big box store. We were the only ones in the shop so Chris spent a ton of time with us. I learned so much, it will stay with me for my lifetime and probably prevent future injury. I purchased shoes today and look forward to trying them out, maybe return with a friend in the future. I expect to only buy my running shoes from here going forward. Thank you very much.

The lady helping me was so nice and finding me my perfect shoe and also helping me find shoes that fit me well in the future. They did tests to see how I walked, ran, and stand to find me the perfect shoe. They have so many options for shoes you would like and help you find discounts for shoes! Im so excited to run in my new perfect shoes!! 10/10 would totally reccomend! Now I know hwere to get my running shoes in the future and for my whole family and friends.

Went in to Xtra Mile to get new running/walking shoes. I was very impressed! Chris was super helpful and nice. I thought I was a size 11 in shoes and he measured both of my feet and told me I was a size 8 wide. He helped me find the perfect shoes. I’m really excited to start using them. I will be back. I can't recommend this place enough, even for non-runners and let me tell you why. I have some less than normal medical conditions that affect not just my feet but my calves and my knees. Chris (the owner) spent 2 hours with me testing every single option he had in store. We tested everything from my gait, toe box comfort, to ankle stability, to how the shoes felt with and without my custom inserts. He then went out of my way to educate me on how to teach my mom to lace her shoes differently for her unique medical condition, and she isn't even a client. If I wasn't singing his praises enough, this store has brands I've never even heard of. At first I was a little wary since these were unknown brands to me. Let me put any concern to rest, the quality you will get here, blows standard name brands (like Nike) to SHAME. The quality and benefit to my whole lower body was noticeable within days. Chris is patient, kind, caring and truly cares about the health of his patients. Go here, you won't regret it.

I went in today to get fitted for a pair of running shoes. I am running my first ever half marathon. Chris did a great job fitting me into the perfect shoes. I ended up buying two (saucony and On Running)! Great customer service, I will for sure return here again. I love supporting a local small business!

In short. YESSSS. GO HERE! It’s worth it! Now that we have appeased any “brief review leaning readers.” …. time to bust out another review. This one has been long in the works. Not quite sure where to start… so let’s just dive in! Experience one, rolling through to check out some running socks for my wife. And first up to bat was Jay! He greeted us kindly and gave some sweet insights. Super solid experience! Next up, I came in looking for a pair of shoes and a nice running shirt. Kennon gave me a hand and let me tell you, another great experience. The guy is young and he looks young, but TRUST ME he’s got YODA vibes when it comes to running. Also fun fact: we both climb at first ascent! So he’s doubly cool! And finally, gotta talk about my experiences with Christopher. This is a big deal, as a loyal cubs fan I usually overlook Sox guys…BUT he’s just too great! The guy is a superstar. He has a solid staff, his company is doing awesome things in their local running community, and ON TOP of that, he remembers customer experiences. So you ask me he’s a superstar (insert fireworks, jazz hands or whatever you like!) Final note: SHOP local my dear google review readers. You have no idea how much it means when you buy a pair of shoes or a shirt from xtra mile instead of Amazon.

Needed new shoes for jogging, old shoes were killing my feet. Came in and Kayla (Hope I spelt it right) was super patient and ran test on how I ran, helped me with picking the perfect pair. Now it feels like I'm running on clouds. All I can say is she is a foot wizard and the next time I need new running shoes this is definitely the place to get them!

Excellent customer service I have seen after a long time, and I'm so happy that I was able to find such a great local store. Kennon was super helpful and knowledgeable, and he helped me find the perfect insoles. Prices are the same as online, plus you get to try and get excellent suggestions. Before leaving the store, I chatted with Chris for a little bit, and he provided great advice on running. Highly recommend this local store and will visit again!

Fantastic! I am training for a Hyrox race and needed a shoe that could bridge my running gait needs and the physical demands of the events. Jay paired me with the perfect shoe! Jay patiently went through all of my metrics, gait, current training style, what demands the shoe would be put under, even read an article on shoes other Hyrox racers recommended. Can not say enough great things about my experience. This kind of store is key to a long happy experience with your sport and gear needs.

The store and owner (Chris) was so knowledgeable, kind and patient as I fumbled through what I was looking for (something the doctor recommended). He had much patience and I was able to leave with a great pair of shoes that fit my needs. And I drove about 40 minutes to get there- and would do it again! Highly recommend this place!

I came to try on shoes that I found online but Chris enlightened me with explanations and had me try several other styles. Surprisingly, my shoes size changed and I didn't know that. He had me try a size 7 (which is what my size is now, apparently). I've been size 6/6.5. I did go with the bigger size as Chris suggested. I am happy with my purchase, Cloud Surfer.

I’m new to running and was time to invest in running shoes. Looked online, read some reviews and found this place open late. I pulled up and was intimidated at first because they had a run club meet that day. Once I walked in I was greeted and assisted by Danielle. She took her time with me despite being the only employee, busy and I had no clue what I was looking for. She went through the entire process with me. I tried on multiple shoes, inserts and she took videos of me on the treadmill. I was impressed by the service, courtesy, and her knowledge.

Super attentive staff. Very personalized service! Came in for some insoles for my husband, did not disappoint. Will be coming back for better running shoes in the near future! Thank you :)!!! Was a bit shy at first coming in here because I never experienced such great service at any shoe business, but this is an A+ for small businesses. :)

Kennon was professional, detailed, knowledgeable, and kind. His content knowledge about how running impacts the body and also the physics of running is strong and evident in the types of questions he asks his clients. He asks pointed questions that help indicate what the best shoe is based on your goals and your running style. Wise beyond his years!
