I
actually
only
saw
Dr.
Redd
once
at
my
first
visit.
He
was
nice
and
took
time
to
answer
my
questions,
and
I've
heard
from
friends,
OR
nurses,
and
others
that
he's
an
excellent
surgeon.
So
had
I
needed
surgery,
I
would
have
felt
confident
having
him
perform
the
operation.
But,
in
this
particular
instance,
I
feel
like
telling
me
to
start
weight
bearing
and
walking
on
my
broken
ankle
less
than
a
week
after
the
break
occurred
was,
unfortunately,
not
in
my
best
interests.
It
was,
thankfully,
a
stable
fracture,
so
perhaps
that
was
the
reason
for
the
advice.
However,
for
me,
it
was
just
way
too
soon
after
the
initial
trauma
and
served
only
to
make
my
swelling
and
pain
much
worse
than
it
was
already.
Even
my
physical
therapist
was
surprised
I'd
been
told
to
weight
bear
so
soon
and
said
that
people
are
usually
told
to
stay
off
the
injured
leg
for
at
least
6
weeks
to
help
it
heal
properly.
I'm
no
expert,
so
all
I
can
say
is
that--for
me--if
I
had
to
do
it
over
again,
I'd
have
listened
to
my
body
instead
and
just
stayed
off
the
leg
completely,
since
trying
to
walk
on
it
did
nothing
but
cause
me
additional,
severe,
and
unnecessary
suffering.
So,
after
that
initial
visit,
I
opted
to
see
Chase--Dr.
Redd's
P.A.--for
every
follow
up
appointment
and
really
liked
him.
Chase
also
took
the
time
to
explain
things
and
answer
all
of
my
questions,
as
well
as
give
me
sound
advice.
The
important
takeaway
here
is
that
Dr.
Redd
and
all
of
his
staff
have
been
very
kind
and
considerate
and
seem
to
care
about
patients.
So
despite
my
initial
difficulties
with
the
weight
bearing
advice,
I
would
still
recommend
Dr.
Redd
and
his
staff
to
anyone
who
needs
orthopedic
care.
