John provided me with a timely walkthrough of a vessel I am interested in. He took roughly 1500 pictures and did a video walkthrough and uploaded all to me in South Africa in the same day. I was able to call him and he answered questions concerning the vessel and anything the photos and video revealed. My wife and I agree that we both feel as if we have been on the boat. His service and communication is professional and timely. If all goes well we will hire him to do the detailed survey, haul-out and sea trial. Well done John. Update 03/08/2019 We went back to John for the pre-purchase survey, haul, and sea trial. The boat is a 52' Defever with many systems on board. John examined all systems and worked with the engine surveyor, Billy, during the sea trial to make sure the engines reached the rated rpm and knots for this vessel. Under a time crunch for closing, John pushed our survey working through the night. I received it at 0245 in time to meet all of the administrative constraints when being through brokers. Thanks for your help, John and for your extra work pushing it through. I also want to mention that until just before the survey, my wife and I had never set foot not the boat. The video and pictures John previously sent us left us feeling as if we had. There were no surprises; we found the boat exactly as described by John. I contacted John after reading other online reviews, for his assistance in performing a used boat survey. As a novice boat owner, and being 3000 miles away, he was very informative and helpful in going through the survey process. I found him to be quick and responsive in setting up and performing the survey and was also available to answer my numerous questions during and after. Also was able to provide other vendor recommendations that I needed since I am out of the area. Overall positive experience and would not hesitate to use him again if the need arose.

John recently performed a survey on a 36 Luhrs Convertible my wife and I were interested in purchasing. We are so impressed with the diligence and timeliness of John's work. We had a small window of time where we could save the cost of a haul out it we could have the boat surveyed in just two days (the PO had the boat out for some work and it was going back in) and John was able to accommodate us. Called John Hamilton to get an inspection on a potential boat I was trying to purchase (sight unseen) and not only did he spend over an hour with me on the phone trying to figure out the best way logistically to make this happen on extremely short notice, but he also spend much time explaining to me the pros and cons of the potential boat. He then advised me not to go through with the boat, even though financially it was better for him if I did, and To top it all off, he connected me with one of his contacts that would be able to assist me in my purchase in the area I live in. Honestly, moving forward I’ll likely never buy a boat without talking to John and having him inspect it. Can’t stress enough the level of honesty and friendliness John and his business demonstrated in helping me avoid a potential bad decision.

We called to request a pre-purchase survey for a 280CC and Jeff, who works for Hamilton & Hamilton was able to assist us. He was very knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. He was in constant communications with us leading up to the survey, followed up with a phone call and gave a very detailed explanation of the report. We had a very tight turnaround request for the report and he was able to make it happen!

John recently performed a small boat pre-purchase survey on a 26 Regulator FS. I was actually a little embarrassed for the seller because John went into places the owner didn't even know existed. He took about 1000 pictures, poked and prodded for a couple of hours...that was while the boat was on the trailer, he had even more in store during the sea trial. If you need a thorough inspection and honest answers about the boat your looking to buy, look no further. I ended up buying the boat after a 3 year search and John helped me feel good about my decision. Did I mention he is very thorough. I won't ever buy another boat without John's approval.

Mister John Hamilton is very professional, efficient and competent. He did a pre purchase on a sailboat I wanted to buy has if it was his. I was outside the country when he surveyed the sailboat so he was my eyes and my ears. I spoke with Jeff on 05/21 and advised I needed a survey on a 42 CC in the Jupiter area. He answered on the first call (most surveyors don’t answer at all) and advised me he had an opening on 05/24 that became available. Tuesday 5/24 came and Jeff was ON TIME! He was very thorough going through every hatch and crevice of the boat. He even asked to shadow him so I can view his findings live. I would highly recommend Jeff if you’re looking for a surveyor that goes above and beyond.
