Should have checked into this place a little better. Over a year ago, my son was tested and a year later I still do not have a written report. The billing department states that they are in communication with my health insurance, yet my health insurance states they don’t ever receive anything from them. Therefore bills are left unpaid, while nobody from the office calls me back. Mo communication between Neurohealth and billing whatsoever to my knowledge. My son has never seen the actual psychologist. Startling to wonder if there is even one at this office. I was looking to get a good evaluation on him and some decent therapy. Driving almost an hour to this location. Not sure what their deal is but I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. Sad that there are people who are ok taking advantage of a disabled adult or child.

Read the reviews, those that say they are all about the money are spot on. After weeks of testing they won't provide me with my son's results until I have a $750 consult with them. This after $4000 worth of testing. It is illegal to withhold medical records from the patient. There are many many reputable diagnosticians out there, please save yourself the headache and chose anyone other than this organization.

Brought my daughter here. Scheduled her testing. They scheduled her to meet with Dr Philips during a time she didn't see "school advocacy". The intake clinician suggested it but never explained what it was for. I call to reschedule and they gave me 2 times and then said they couldn't schedule beyond the month. Incredibly rude person on the phone. I cancelled all appointments as this is a terrible environment for someone struggling. I asked to cancel all of my appointments and that I wouldn't pay a fee in which he proceeded to tell me he had no control over that and I asked to speak with someone who did and he hung up on me. RUN this place is awful!!!!! Even worse they have a company that does the billing and they will apply payments against bills you never see. There has been an ongoing open issue that their billing company has not called me back on and today they just charged my credit card. When I called Neuro Health their response to me was they didn't know there was an issue-lets see it is their responsibility to know what is going on before they send through a charge. DO NOT GO HERE.

Brought my daughter for adhd testing intake meeting. Informed process was 12 hours over multiple visits. Thought it was odd that they suggested my daughter part ways with her established therapist during the evaluation phase, which could be 1-3 months depending on desired pace, and work with their therapist exclusively. After, I asked two trusted professionals, and they suggested this wasn’t typical and reasons were probably more business building. But, ok, I can reasonably understand how holistic care during the testing process might provide some benefits for the evaluation. But it was enough to make me dig deeper. So I came and read the reviews here. Yikes. We are not moving forward with them. Shame on me for not reading reviews first. Maybe it’s me that deserves the one star rating!

Stay far away as you can from this place. They’re all about $$$$$ They see patients as $ sign. My daughter was evaluated there. Billing is the biggest headache. They agreed on payment plan on final bill on 07/19 but for 12 month we haven’t heard from them, they claim they were sending them every month!!. That’s pure lie, USPS can’t possibly be loosing statement from same source every month for 12 months. If these people can outright lie with ease makes me wonder in what else they lied to. 1 star because I can’t go any lower

Cancelled two appointments on me last minute (less than three hours ahead of time), but when I tried to reschedule the night before due to babysitting needs they told me I would be charged $150. Gave me a completely bogus diagnosis that has not helped me one bit and then tried to sell me on biofeedback treatment through them -- I had to say no more than once. And, like others here, they took $750 out of my account yesterday. No bill, no notice, just deal with it. I am overdrawn. What a scam.

my parents went here for marriage counseling, and they brought me here for clinical therapy. i was assessed by my parents’ therapist without my knowledge of this, already creating a conflict of interest. i went here for a few years, and i only stayed because of the therapist i had at the time who had to eventually leave due to work related stress physically effecting her. the practice reassigned me, but to my brother’s therapist and i had to ask for a therapist that didn’t have a bias about me from my family. that therapist also had to leave neurohealth because of the way the head doctor was treating her. along with that & the absurd and constant billing i had to leave the practice. it got to the point where my family couldn’t afford to send me to therapy that i needed. i’m now at a new practice that’s more understanding, affordable, and doesn’t have a head doctor that bleeds my bank every week (despite being every other week sessions). i am transgender and the countless times i was mistreated because of my gender is appalling considering this was supposed to be a safe space for me. i would not recommend this practice. i would rather drive an hour to and from another practice than go here

Run! Extremely rude and unprofessional office staff. My eight year old son even said Tim was rude to me and this was prior to the start of the appointment while in the waiting area. This practice is unorganized and unprofessional and nothing was accomplished, which was a total waste of time. I will be disputing any charges they attempt to collect with my insurance provider. As such, I will encourage my insurance plan to remove this practice from their list of contracted providers. Any parent that has experienced the same unprofessionalism should contact their insurance provider as well and express their grievances.

This place is ridiculously useless and a time waster. They claim over the phone that they can evaluate one year old for autism. I took my son there for initial evaluation hoping for super early diagnosis so I could act upon early. We were seen by some unprofessional therapist that seemed to be only data collector. She didn’t even look at the child, meaning that she could have done her questionnaire over the phone . At the end they told me that we would need 12 visits for their evaluation and that insurance would maybe cover only 3 visits, and that they charge 250$ per hour. I am highly knowledgeable about autism as my older son is autistic and never heard of 12h testing?????🧐 They also stated that overall process takes around 6 months to get the diagnosis!!!!!!!Meaning the child would be 16 months old and not one year old at the time of diagnosis!!!!!!!😭 That means they are lying on the website that they can evaluate and diagnose one year old kid for autism!!!!!😡

I advise all parents/patients to read the reviews for this place carefully and consider going anywhere else. Our experience to date has included: -failure to properly bill our insurance -failure to address those denials -charge our credit card thousand of dollars for unknown charges despite insurance informing them we are not responsible for charges until they submit the billing correctly -- this credit card was never authorized for charges with their office -failure to release medical records within the timeframe required by federal law after written request was made -failure to provide an itemized statement upon request per the Illinois Fair Billing Act -They did provide a general billing statement that did not include any of the payments they ran on our unauthorized credit card -while the front desk tries to help, they are not in a position to assist with these matters, I have never received a call back/response when I have left messages with the front desk or on voicemail or when I sent letters. To date a manage has never called me on their own or at my request as I have attempted to resolve these concerns with their office -the billing to my insurance is more than what is standardly billed at other offices per my discussions with 2 other neuropsychologists.

Maddening. That is the only word that can describe our experience of getting our son tested. We were first told that he would need six 2 hour sessions. That is what we agreed to. At least four of the sessions were cut considerably short. We were told by the employee administering the tests that more sessions would not be necessary. Low and behold, he ended up needing NINE sessions because the previous ones were cut 20-30. We were then told that we would not have to pay for those extra sessions because they had originally told us six. The psychologist made the call that the sessions be cut short...and that is why we needed so many more. It's ridiculous. Then we were charged random charges of $850 for bogus charges. STAY FAR AWAY. If I could get negative stars, I would.

Highly disappointed in this facility. They wanted us to sign a form to authorize credit card payment without our authorization for any charges. I refused to sign this form. I told them I would pay on the spot or receive statements to pay them. But they forced us to sign this form prior to the consult or else we will not be seen at all. I'm very cautious with this facility as I've seen a lot of negative feedback from this place about their billing and this is so true! They are insisting to make a copy of our credit card which we decline. Lesson here - read fine prints before signing any forms.

My husband went here and they wanted him to give them free reign on our checking account by giving them our debit card info and signing 4 pages allowing them to just charge whatever whenever. That's insane! Needless to say he walked out. This cannot be a legit office. Just a scam. Should've read the reviews before I made the appt.

Fully agree with the other 1 Star reviews here. This place is unethical at best and out to milk you dry. They will make you sign a credit card authorization agreement to charge your credit card for balances due, which seems reasonable. However, they will not inform you that they will charge your card whenever they want and for however much they decide. They have charged us for made-up appointments in addition to hours upon hours of "interpretation" when their fee statements says this is included in their sessions. I am in process disputing claims with our insurance company and considering if there is fraud going on here. BEWARE! Please find another office who will care about you and your loved ones.

There is absolutely nothing i can say to make up for delinquent delivery of the testing results that was completed on March the 10th. The testing is $0000’s, paid for in completion as agreed by me but report not delivered as agreed by NH. This is poor practice and unethical. It’s gross. No phone call , email or follow up regarding the the delay. I have called and the call is always fielded by front who has no definitive answer. Last week i called, i was on hold for 15 minutes, i had to hang up due to a work obligation. No return call, email, follow up of any kind. I’ve tried to call 3 times this week. No one answers. what is it i expect? Human decency.

DO NOT GO HERE. As a future physician myself, I am disgusted and would never send a patient here. I have had nothing but issues. I completed neuropsych testing in January. It’s JULY and they still won’t provide me my results. I have called numerous times and they give the run around or say they will call me back and never do. (This has happened at least 3 times). I called my insurance company and found out the never sent a prior authorization as they were supposed to. They also charged $4,000 for testing!!! That is INSANE and wrong. Some places charge as little as $250. My insurance and primary care doctor sent multiple letters to them requesting documents with no response. My primary care office even called multiple times with me in the room. I am beyond frustrated and this establishment needs to be reported. I’m even considering hiring an attorney at this point.

I have known Dr. Laurie Philipps for forty years. She is a person of the highest integrity and works tirelessly on behalf of her patients. In addition to her impressive professional and academic credentials, she is a very compassionate person who can draw upon deep life experience to help individuals of all ages. I recommend Dr. Philipps and her practice highly.

I am appalled by their billing practices. You never see a bill, they just charge your card whatever they want. It is impossible to get someone on the phone who can discuss your account in an intelligent manner. They will secretly keep a copy of any card you provide them and will run it without having consent to do so. When you revoke consent they ignore you and still charge you. It is not unreasonable to what knows what you are being charged prior to them running your card. Completely unprofessional. It takes threatening litigation before anyone pays attention. It's an unfortunate turn of events.

Dr. Philipps and her team have been very good to work with. We have been looking for an office that we feel comfortable at and can work with us and it have been a great experience. The team is highly educated and professional and we feel we have received outstanding care.

Do not use their services. They have no sense of customer service. I waited anywhere for 20-50 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to be acknowledged. They are completely unorganized in terms of scheduling and keep track of forms. I would come in for my appointment and they would tell me they didn’t know I had an appointment that day. My evaluator could also not explain the directions to a test I was taking because she didn’t understand how the test worked. It took 3 months for me to complete my testing and they did not have any conclusive results for me, basically just regurgitated what I said my concerns were. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

Dr. Philipps is an excellent doctor who has helped our family immensely. She has a unique understanding of the educational system and worked with us and the school to assist in creating a supportive learning experience. I highly recommend her and her practice.
