I went out to North Table Mountain for a day of intro to TRAD and rappelling with Golden Mountain Guides. Peter was our guide for the day and he was super great. Highly recommended. Great gear. Clear instruction and was good a relating concepts and making us comfortable with each of the activities. I felt safe throughout the day and thoroughly enjoyed my time with Peter and fellow climbers. Highly recommended.

Updated May 2023: We hired Golden Mountain Guides to take us up Dragon's Tail Couloir in Rocky Mountain National Park asfollow up to the advanced mountain course we previously took with Golden Mountain Guides. Ben was our guide and it was the best guiding experience I've ever had. He set the day up such that we got to lead the entire day and he was just there to make sure we were safe and remembered all the skills he taught us in the course we took a few weeks prior. This was invaluable experience for us, preparing us to be able to lead the next trip completely on our own Our ratio of 2 guests to 1 guide allowed us to go at our pace and Ben was fantastic at answering all our questions along the way. He was also our personal photographer, taking dozens of high quality pictures and he immediately sent them to us via Google Photos the same day. Finally, Ben also brought all the gear we needed - mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes, helmets, rope, trad rack, etc. The guiding, photos and gear were all included for one very reasonable price. It was an epic adventure and we learned a ton. I can't recommend Golden Mountain Guides enough! April 2023: I took the Advanced Mountaineering Course. I had a blast and learned a ton! Our guide worked hard to understand everyone's skill level and objectives for the course and tailored the itinerary based on that info. I highly recommend getting out with Golden Mountain Guides!

Cannot recommend this group enough! We had a 2 person, half day guide, booked with Doug. We had a prep call a few days prior to get the needed equipment for our adventure. The hike into the canyon was beautiful. Doug was very knowledgeable and safe during our trip. We had nice conversation and plenty of opportunities to climb. If you're looking for adventure and Colorado scenery, this is it!

We had such a great half day guided climbing trip with Peter. As a beginner and someone who has never rock climbed outside, we felt like we had a knowledgeable and patient guide to get the lay of the land. We highly recommend Golden Mountain Guides!

This was our second time climbing with Tristan and Golden Mountain Guides. Another fantastic experience , this time at the Flatirons with my teenage son. Well worth the cost, and Tristan tailored the climbs and pace to our experience level. Can’t say enough good things about this group!!

I had the best time rock climbing for the first time outdoors! Luc was awesome, you can tell he is very experienced and had so much knowledge. It made me feel super safe and at ease. Luc was my guide, he was amazing. Very personable. I am a beginner climber and he was patient in helping me learn. He was knowledgeable about the area and took me to several different areas to climb making sure I had diverse exposure. I would highly recommend golden mountain climbing company and Luc specifically!

Wish I could give more stars! We have climbed with GMG the third time and will definitely be climbing again. Ben and his team always tries to be flexible and meet our needs. He is super knowledgeable about the routes we climb and also about climbing technique and safety involved. I really like how he engages us to do our own part in the climb, be it from getting our equipment ready to belaying on the route. If something was done wrong Ben has a great way of addressing it (I tied one of my knots wrong...). Great experience!

We knew we were asking a lot when signing up as a group of four to climb the third Flatiron in Boulder. Pat was more than accommodating and made each one of us feel comfortable with his instruction. His friendly attitude and professionalism made us all feel at ease. This was the best experience as a first time climber! From our initial phone call to the end of our tour, we were surrounded by kindness. Ben, our private guide, was the most amazing guide we could’ve asked for. He was funny, helpful, and kept us calm and motivated as we embarked up the mountain. Although we were high up, not once did we think we were unsafe and with Ben’s reassurances, we climbed higher then we ever thought possible. This was definitely the experience of a lifetime and we are so happy we chose Golden Mountain Guides for our first trip. Money well spent!

Our family of five had an amazing experience. Thomas and Pat accessed the skills and interests of each of our climbers, ranging in age from 11-45 and put together a series of single and multi-pitch climbs that kept us learning and challenging ourselves all day long. Not to mention, they brought us to the epic Eldorado Canyon. It was the experience of a lifetime!

He was so patient and knowledgable. Safety and proper technique were our main focus and we got lots of feedback which is invaluable! I booked a full day of climbing for myself and a friend. Our guide, Pat, was fantastic! We got out early enough to beat the crowds at East Colfax in clear creek and Pat set top ropes on about 7 different routes before noon. We moved to a different spot and Pat lead a couple easier routes followed by a couple 5.10s before we ended the day. Just a heads up: I left a couple of hours on the table because my feet were super tired. My friend didn’t climb more than a couple routes so I was in climbing shoes the majority of the day. I think two somewhat-experienced climbers rotating in on routes would make good use of a full day (8 hours) booking; less experienced parties might aim for the half day. I had a blast and would definitely recommend Pat & Golden Mountain Guides to anyone looking to get guided outdoor climbing in Colorado!

100% recommend Golden Mountain Guides and Ben for all your climbing trips. Ben took our 14 yr old son out for his first ice climbing experience in February of 2022. My son rated the day a 10 out of 10 and we would agree! The guidance and teaching of skills was superb. Ben wasn't just there for a quick climb but truly wanted my son to embrace and learn all aspects of ice climbing. They worked on technique, provided appropriate feedback, and focused on safety in every aspect of the adventure.
