Overall,
a
major
misfire
of
this
hotel
considers
itself
luxury.
They
must
rely
on
no
other
luxury
hotel
being
in
the
area
to
fill
their
rooms.
At
$600/
night
for
a
lowest
tier
room
during
a
midweek
stay
I
would
at
least
expect
a
basic
level
of
good
customer
service.
From
the
outset
when
we
arrived
in
the
evening
time
frame
no
one
greeted
us
at
the
front
door.
One
valet
man
slowly
walked
out
and
faintly
offered
to
help
with
luggage.
At
other,
finer
resorts
they
would
just
take
your
bag
as
there
would
be
2-3
concierge
available
to
assist.
At
check
in,
we
did
get
an
upgrade
and
welcome
gift,
however,
the
concierge
said
they
would
inquire
about
added
on
spa
service
scheduled
for
the
next
day.
We
did
not
hear
a
word
back
and
nothing
when
we
arrived
for
our
massages.
Again,
lacking
just
simple
customer
service.
After
check
in
we
went
to
dinner
at
the
main
bar
as
the
other
restaurant
was
closed.
We
had
been
told
they
do
not
take
reservations
for
the
bar
area
and
tables,
however,
when
we
arrived
the
hostess
asked
if
we
had
a
reservation
and
said
rudely
that
it
would
be
an
hour
wait.
We
didn’t
make
a
fuss
and
headed
to
the
bar.
The
bartender
was
extremely
rude.
Made
eye
contact
multiple
times
but
was
no
help.
Finally,
when
he
decided
to
serve
us
he
asked
we
move
to
the
other
end
of
the
bar.
When
doing
so
he
then
again
didn’t
take
our
order,
but
made
us
wait
another
10
minutes.
We
also
asked
for
a
wine
menu
and
he
replied
it’s
on
their
basic
menu,
not
knowing
they
had
an
actual
wine
list.
Again,
just
bad
basic
customer
service,
and
frankly
just
rude.
The
servicer
and
meal
(steak
and
burrata)
was
good.
Though
they
did
try
to
pawn
off
their
sub
par
poor
hotel
produced
wine
after
we
ordered
a
bottle
of
something
else.
This
was
pretty
tacky,
especially
as
the
wine
was
not
good.
The
rest
of
the
night
was
not
great.
The
power
went
out
at
2am
and
they
abruptly
back
on
waking
us
up
with
every
room
light
coming
on
waking
us
up.
Take
note
breakfast
is
only
served
until
10:30a.
Something
that
the
concierge
should
have
mentioned
at
check
in.
For
an
aspiring
luxury
hotel
than
offer
spa
amenities
and
is
a
destination
breakfast
should
be
served
at
least
until
11a.
The
spa
treatments
were
subpar
and
also
over
crowded
so
much
so
that
the
women
locker
room
was
so
over
run
with
women
the
locker
room
area,
and
showers
were
in
use
the
entire
time
and
unusable.
Definitely
not
relaxing.
They
are
clearly
taking
profits
over
experience.
I
would
not
recommend
this
hotel,
or
other
Salamander
property
based
on
this
horrendous
experience.
Staying
in
DC,
or
at
a
different
AmEx
Fine
Hotel
in
the
area
is
what
I
recommend.
Until
they
get
their
service
quality
drastically
improved
this
greatly
leaves
something
to
be
desired.
I
brought
this
experience
to
the
manager
and
she
politely
apologized
and
offered
to
comp
two
cocktails.
Definitely
did
not
make
up
for
the
poor
experience.
