Waiter seemed to be in a big hurry. We got the Tamahawk ribeye and we’re excited to come home and share the bone with the family dog but when we opened the doggie bag we found no bone. The leftover steak was cut and placed in a small box, the small amount of fries were placed in a large box. So that was two points against our waiter. I really dislike to write a bad review especially since DC Prime has been our #1 go to for special days but we feel like we didn’t get what we paid for.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at dc primer for a birthday dinner. From the start, the service was unorganized. We were seated at the wrong table, which was dirty. When we were moved to another table, the seats were filthy—I even ended up sitting on a piece of steak, which was absolutely disgusting. The entire experience was frustrating and completely ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion. Ultimately, we decided to leave, feeling beyond disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Not what I was hoping for as a first experience or for the cost. My husband and I wanted a treat so decided to do an extravagant date night- we googled and found this place. We had a reservation and when we walked in not one of the 3 hostesses lifted their heads to welcome us. I said hi to get their attention and we were seated. It was very loud with the bar being right there, we were expecting a different atmosphere for the cost of the meals online. We sat down and waited around 5-10 minutes to be greeted or offered water. There was no rapport- it was straight to the point about ordering, I’ve had friendlier servers at Texas Roadhouse. The apps were ok but not worth the price. Dinner was great. This was a first and last time experience. I can’t justify spending that much just for food- you pay for the experience and the customer service and it was lacking.

I recently took my friends to DC Prime to celebrate our Friendsgiving, and the entire evening was spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the service, ambiance, and food were flawless. We started with the house salad, which was crisp, fresh, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. Two of us opted for the 14 oz New York Strip, cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The third member of our group chose the surf and turf, and the combination of the succulent lobster and perfectly prepared steak was simply extraordinary. For sides, we went with the creamed spinach and French fries, and both were absolute standouts. The spinach was creamy and indulgent, while the fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. Dessert was the cherry on top of an incredible meal. We shared the carrot cake, which was moist and wonderfully spiced, and the chocolate and peanut butter cake—a rich, decadent treat that was truly unforgettable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure our evening was seamless. The elegant yet inviting atmosphere only added to the experience. DC Prime went above and beyond to make this celebration special, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re marking a special occasion or just treating yourself, this is the place to go.

I eat here reasonably frequently. This is probably my 10th visit in the last 6 months. Overall, this is a Good restaurant. As a prime steakhouse I hold them to a higher standard. Their ambience is great and they have an excellent level of service. Their sides are excellent, my favorite is the lobster Mac and cheese and the Lamb Lollipops are just wonderful. In my last 4 visits I've had the Tomahawk, a Ribeye, a Bone in Dry Aged Ribeye feature, and a Filet. In those experiences, their ribeye are tough and chewy. I am pretty sure the ribeye (no bone), was actually a NY Strip and sent it back, getting a slightly better cut of Ribeye the second time. I really expect a superior tenderness and flavor at this price point, but I have been disappointed lately. I wonder if they are using USDA Choice instead of USDA Prime, or a similarly lower quality of meat. The cuts are beautiful, perfectly cooked, but tough and chewy. You'll still enjoy the experience, but don't be surprised if the steak isn't quite as awesome as you thought it should be.

We at at DC Prime on Valentine's day and were not disappointed. The restaurant was packed, however that did not affect the service nor quality of our food and experience. They had a nice Valentine's Day menu to choose from as well as the normal every day menu. Our server and the accompanying team was excellent. We even got a table visit from the GM, Glenn, who is amazing! Now to the food! We each got the Ribeye and for sides we got the Au Gratin Potatoes and the Lobster Mac and Cheese! The steaks were perfectly cooked and were the best steaks we have had in a very long time. The sides were large enough for two to share and they were amazing as well. The Lobster Mac was my favorite side of the two we had. We finished with the Creme Brulee which was fantastic as well!! Overall, this is the place to be! We will definitely be back to enjoy drinks and cigars and of course more food when the weather warms up! Highly recommend!

First time and undoubtedly I have to say this place is amazing; you have to go here and it will not just be a one-and-done. you will go here multiple times if you're in the area. The food is incredible, the menu is customizable, and you can bring your friends or loved ones here for almost any occasion. The service is so good which was a breath of fresh air considering how bad customer service is in this day and age. we got really good service, our party was attended to, our food came out in a timely fashion, and they accommodated us with the bill. It wasn't a big deal but it did happen so I'll mention it here: gratuity was added to our party even though we didn't meet the minimum number of people for automatic gratuity. we didn't make a big deal about it but we noticed it. If you are coming with a party with eight people or more, inquire about the gratuity beforehand. Will definitely come again and definitely recommend others due too.

DC Prime is quickly becoming my favorite steakhouse. I dined here for the second time recently, and it was a repeat fantastic experience. It's hard to say what's better, the food or the service. Both were exceptional both times. The filet mignon was the best I've ever had in a restaurant; high praise - but true! My wife and I really enjoyed the sides as well. Overall I'd say it's a great value as well, just slightly less expensive than other area steakhouses in my opinion.

I had a fantastic dining experience at this steakhouse! From the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome from the hostess and the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. My waiter was outstanding—professional, kind, and truly enhanced the evening. The appetizer, a lobster dish, was absolutely exquisite—hands down the best I’ve ever had! The flavors were perfectly balanced and simply unforgettable. As for the main course, I chose the tenderloin steak, which was cooked to perfection and incredibly delicious. The restaurant’s decor is a bit overwhelming, but I understand that this is part of the American style, so it didn’t bother me at all. Next time, I’ll definitely pair my steak with a good wine. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back!

Food and service were amazing. It is pricey, so be prepared. Dinner for 4 at over $140 per person was a bit much for this spot. The atmosphere was busy , but it definitely has a chain restaurant feel. Its priced like an upscale restaurant, but lacks the feel. There are more interesting spots with ambiance in this area. But if you want a great steak, and you don't care about price this place is amazing.

Another great evening at D.C. Prime. I’ve been coming here for 10 years - Chelsea and Jorge at the bar have been there as long, and they’re awesome. Got to meet Shelby up there tonight, and as expected, she’s fantastic as well. These folks really focus on service and quality. The food is always, always good and consistently so. Chelsea is a consummate expert behind the bar, Jorge is knowledgeable about every drink and is friendly as all get out. You always feel welcome here. I travel in from Colorado and always make a point to stop here whenever I can. Don’t hesitate. This place has been great for a decade and is my top spot in the area. Go!!

We had the most amazing time! We did not have a reservation (on the Saturday after Valentine's Day), but they let us join them in their awesome tent on the patio. The firepit was awesome... it stayed a very comfortable temperature. Our server was absolutely amazing. She gave amazing recommendations, and we loved her personality. We only give her 5 stars because they don't allow 10 stars!!

This is the first time I have been at a place as fancy/price as this. Service was amazing, ambiance was amazing, the food was even more amazing. We had lobster bites i think it was with a sweet chili sauce, pork belly, and oysters rockafeller as apps. Everything was awesome, however the oysters were absolutely amazing. I had the ribeye Oscar style and it was pretty loaded with crab. The steak was charred and cooked perfectly. There wasn't a bunch of grizzle and fat at all. My co-worker had the filet trio and he loved it as well. We had a creme brulee which was very good, it had all the vanilla bean in there and tasted perfect. Overall this place was amazing.
