Is there anyone who can honestly rate this place less than 5 stars? Maybe, depending on who the act was, but as a venue - no way. And we got to listen to Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Minus Sherman Irby (horns) and Carlos Enriquez (bass), and I saw some new faces on piano and drums, at least new to me...but just about all the other regulars were there, and they were all SOLID. You could hear every single note they played as clear as a bell. Beautiful. Wonderful. And Wynton? Well, he's been on my list to see him on stage for a long time. Saw Stevie, the Temps - all of them, the J5 back in the day, MJ by himself and now Wynton. (Missed Prince, though, may he rest in peace...) Anyway, Strathmore is a top notch venue. Nothing to complain about here...go out and have good time!

This is a fantastic place to listen to live music and if you're debating a concert, you won't be disappointed. The acoustics are incredible, the seats are comfortable and well placed to avoid a poor view, and the staff are incredibly helpful. So head on out to North Bethesda (it's Rockville!) and catch a show! It's been too long, hasn't it?

My wife and I attended Terezin: Defiant Requiem on April 20. What a moving performance! The venue is beautiful, relatively easy to get to, and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Looking forward to our next opportunity to go there!

My first time and definitely not my last one! My wife and I went to Afro-Cuban Allstar concert! It was magic ! I only wish the music was louder! I think we only had 92 db where we were seated, maybe the people closer to the stage have the music louder! Anyway we loved it! It was awesome!

The Strathmore Music Center is a nice place to see shows and enjoy music. The auditorium has an elegant vibe and excellent seats. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. I've been many times and will keep going back. It's a beautiful spot to enjoy different kinds of performing arts. The elegant setting makes listening to music very enjoyable.

I recently attended a concert at Strathmore Music Center and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The venue itself is stunning, with its beautiful architecture and comfortable seating. The acoustics were top-notch, allowing for a truly immersive and enjoyable performance. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciate the variety of shows and events that Strathmore offers, catering to a wide range of musical tastes and interests. Overall, I highly recommend Strathmore Music Center to anyone looking for a world-class music experience in the Bethesda area. It deserves nothing less than a 5-star rating!

Beautiful venue with world-class acoustics! We went to hear the Baltimore Symphony live in concert here. The hall was extraordinary in balance - gave way for the “loudest louds” and the “softest softs,” even from the back of the hall. Not only did it make way for gorgeous blends cross-ensemble, but also carved way to hear soloists with ease. One downside - with acoustics this generous, sounds from the audience are especially distracting. We experienced countless coughs, cell phone noises, and almost offensively-timed walker noise in pinnacle moments of the performance… talk about a bummer. Perhaps better seats in the balcony might alleviate these distractions. Strathmore - you are so lucky to have this gorgeous venue!

The Strathmore is a beautiful concert hall with great acoustics. The seating is a little tight though and they still do not sell drinks or snacks. I saw the wonderful Gregory Porter there and it was worth the wait to see him!

I attended a concert by Ledisi which was phenomenal. As I entered the building I was greeted very wamly by the ushers. They requested documentation because of Covid restrictions. It was a smooth process because they were very kind. The restrooms as well as the Center were clean. The venue had great seating as well as the sound. I recommend it.

The Simon and Garfunkel Show was EXCELLENT. The Young Men who portrayed them did a wonderful job of telling their story. I was truly entertained, I learned new things and left wanting more. If you're able, you owe it to yourself to see this performance. [I could easily see it again. ] ☮❤Peace and love.

The venue is fantastic but a little hard to navigate. Parking is problematic. We had to wait 40 minutes to get out of the garage. If I went again, I would definitely do valet parking. It could have saved alot of time.

Lots of stairs and somewhat confusing to navigate. But, it's beautiful inside. There's a delicious cafe for before the show. The theatre itself is comfortable with enough leg room for most heights of people. Acoustics were excellent and we had a good view even from high up in the balcony.

Very good venue with nice acoustics. What’s not to like? We come to concerts here, my kid rehearses and performs here, I took music lessons here, we jog around or into here. Simply a wonderful place!

First time experience of the theater and it is very well done! The beautiful light wood interior is carried throughout the theater. The acoustics created a personal experience wherever you sit. What to wear? Business casual or go all out! There's a lot of walking and stairs so ladies, give some thought to your shoes. The floors are tiled and wood, very little carpet. The music center was actually warm, during the second half we did feel some cool air. I would advise wearing layered clothing. I have some tall family members and tend to find seating where anyone behind us can see. This issue was already addressed by the seating itself. Seating was comfortable and offered plenty of leg room. We utilized the Valet parking. As you enter from The Circle your eyes are drawn straight up to the mountain of stairs. There are elevators at this level. Any questions can be answered by the Greeting Staff located just inside the entrance. Once you reach the top of the stairs is the Ticket Que for pickup or purchase if you haven't purchased online. I have a Strathmore account makes everything super easy. As you pass this area have your tickets or QR code ready to be scanned. Well organized! As you walk along the main hallway you will be walking the perimeter going towards the on-site restaurant. Plenty of tables to grab a bite to eat and meet up with family or friends. Checkout the menu and see if something catches your fancy. There is a way to pre-order but we didn't take advantage of the kitchen. Someone in our group did get some sweet treats cookies and a tray bar slivers which were delicious. Across from the Kitchen I noticed a bar set up which appeared to offer mix drinks and wine. The building is quick to learn but there are no directory signs to orient you as to where you are and how far to your seat. We did descend 2 flights to reach our seating level. At the end, we then climbed these 2 flights. I did notice an elevator not sure if it was available for general use or if you need assistance and a Staff Member needs to operate. There are restrooms on this level. We attended Mannheim Steamroller and the posted picture was from Right Box #16.

Gorgeous! I attended a concert with a friend. The pricing was reasonable for high school students, on the top balcony. We were amazed by the size of it, and the sound was great. It was a little confusing getting there, but there were traffic directors standing out who we could ask for directions from. Be warned it takes some time to leave the parking garage once the concert is done.

If I could give 10 stars, I would for my experience visiting the Center and witnessing the performance of Messiah by the Washington Bach Consort! Dr. Marsh conducted an extremely precise and crisp interpretation, giving a fresh yet intense and deeply moving experience. Each soloist was world-class stellar, taking us on thrilling, riveting, blissful, and emotional rides! Every single person on that stage was on full display of excellence! I could go on...

Great venue. First time sitting in the upper boxes. They look cool from outside the box but are not great in the box. The amplified voice sounds tonight were muddy. Not sure if it was our location in the room or the mix. Being two of the six seats in the box, with chairs that were not fixed in place, we found ourselves in a passive aggressive territorial battle with the other two couples. So, next time we will select other seats. Positives, the staff are very helpful and friendly.

I have been going to the Music Center ever since it opened. As everyone has noted, the interior is beautiful and a wonderful listening experience. The architects planned so there are small units of ventilation and heating, so as to not disturb the sound. The building is kept too cold in the summer even in the evening, and in fact, many patrons go outside to enjoy the stars, air and a little summer warmth. Perhaps that will change with greater awareness of the toil that overuse of our natural resources (coal, natural gas, and oil) has on carbon emissions, climate change and the terrible political situation vis a vis Ukraine invasion. Let's conserve our resources while enjoying wonderful music in this magnificent hall.

Didn't think I would get to see Ustad Zakir Hussain play live. A fine venue for an incredible artist! The ambience, the acoustics, the lights all came together wonderfully well for the performance. I will certainly be back for more artists and shows in the future. My seat was in a promenade box and had a good view of the stage and the artists, I felt it was definitely worth the price. The place overall has the feel and look of an elegant performance arts venue. The facilities are good too, though the refreshments line was a bit crowded. The Grosvenor-Strathmore metro station is a 3-5 minute stroll from this place so it gets major brownie points for travel convenience.

Amazing venue! Acustics are fantastic from any seat. Reasonable prices. Love seeing performances there. Great variety of arts performances, most notably the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

The staff there are excellent. Not sure if they are volunteers or paid but they went above and beyond to be helpful. Beautiful theatre. Loved the Messiah performance by the Phil Harmonic orchestra and beautiful uplifting voices of the singers. I appreciate their support of my ancestral church, Scotland AME Zion and blessing us with the lobby performance of the Scotland choir.

We saw Sergio Mendes in concert. He put on a great show. The venue is awesome! We had good wine, courteous service, and a fun time.

The music center is beautiful, spacious and the light effects and sounds quality for the concert that I was there, was really really good, but I am taking one star out as the parking was closed and they sent us to metro parking, it was more efficient if they would let us know before the event

The amazing acoustics offset the odd seating in Orchestra Right. We sat in a row of about ten seats with an excellent view of the performance and a single entrance to the row. Requires everyone in the row to stand or make an extreme shift in knees/feet placement for one person to shuffle past to the end of the row. Orchestra center allows for two entry points on either side of a row. Overall, beautiful facility with many amenities. Helpful, friendly staff strategically stationed throughout. An escalator to reduce wait time for the elevator. Numerous restrooms. Plenty of covered parking spaces and direct link to metro (bus and train stops).
