Stayed the night here with my partner to celebrate my birthday, we got the romance package. It was a wonderful hotel with very nice customer service. We received our room service promptly at 9:15 as requested, and the room was clean and welcoming. They left me a little birthday card which was a nice touch, and our champagne was in fresh ice when we arrived. The tub had such a beautiful view and the fireplace beneath the tv was very romantic. Just can’t say enough good things. Had a fantastic and relaxing birthday!

If you value sleep don't stay on the first floor. Too many doors slamming to get a good nights rest and the views from the first floor are sub par. If you can score a room on the second or third floor, this place is beyond expectation. Update: I contacted the front desk with my concern and was offered ear plugs. Update 2: I was offered a room on the other side of the hotel however the front desk staff recommended against moving due to the train noise on the east side of the building.

My husband and I were visiting for his interview. This was the hotel that his company arranged for our stay and it was our first time staying at Silver Cloud. However, the check in process was not good. The front desk lady was rude and condescending. She checked our ID to check our reservation and asked us to swipe our credit card for the hotel fee. We told her there must have been a mistake and asked her “Could you check that again please?” My husband asked her very nicely. She raised her voice and repeatedly said our room was reserved, but no payment was made (which sounded condescending as if we do not understand how the typical booking process works for hotels). She asked us to check our credit card transaction as well to confirm no payment was made. We told her we drove here for an interview and the company was supposed to handle the payment. She then looked at the computer again and said she would cancel the payment hold request and we would just need to swipe our card again only for the parking and $50 accidental… We were like the company should handle the parking as well. So she finally said there would be no need. For the entire conversation, no apologies, no smiles… When I asked her if there was any note about the payment info from the company, she said someone didn’t click a button or something. I seriously just wanted to call his company for a different hotel. Our water view room was great though. Our bed was comfortable. Breakfast was just okay. The check out process was easy. The lady who helped us check out was very kind and sweet. Our first day would have been better if the same lady had checked us in. Not coming back to stay at this location. Edited to provide more info requested in the reply: date of check-in 3/6/22; date of check-out 3/7/22. Guest name: Minwoong Na

Staff was very accommodating and friendly! Had to extend my stay unexpectedly and they were very supportive. Morning breakfast was very tasty and the views can’t be beat, especially in the summer! The “fireplace” in the King bed rooms is pretty cool too

It's a whole experience that starts with amazing valet and front desk service. The staff is diverse, we felt welcomed right away. After we checked in we checked out all the daytime activities. They have a lot of great restaurants, shopping, and fun for the whole family. Whether walking, skating, or cycling you can easily and quickly get around. The morning and evening sunrises and sunsets are incredible.

I have stayed here three times and really like the location and the docks. All my rooms had a view of the water so I enjoyed sunrise and sunset. Point Ruston is a great location to take a walk and enjoy the scenery and watch seals. The hotel is nothing fancy but they have good customer service, parking, and location. Oh and free continental breakfast. It's also next to Northern Fish so go get some good grub.

Did a overnight stay after attending a concert for my birthday with my date. We got a room with a spa tub that overlooked the water. It was very nice and had a fireplace that helped with the ambiance. Pretty modern hotel. Would stay again in a heartbeat 💓 💗

What a great little hotel. The views from all rooms are superior being right on the sound. The rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was great and varied. I really have nothing bad to say!

East coaster wanted to work out at 5am however gym is closed. Lobby attendant was curt and rude about it "its a little early isn't it. gym doesn't open until 6am". Well even travelers from this time zone may want to hit the gym at 5am. Seems like the guest services team should have been more friendly about it or said "I'm sorry".

This place is always our favorite local get away. We checked in early so we could park and walk around and play in the water. To our surprise the room was ready. We were greater w a great young guy, K....." Sorry, I can't remember, he was very professional and so sweet. (Sorry, mom, in me coming out) Breakfast is always very good. Honestly, I love this Silvercloud better than the new one. Until next time guys!

What an amazing stay. My wife and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day one day after the 14th. We choose Silver Cloud Inn because we wanted to be on the Tacoma waterfront and we planned to go to Harbor Lights for dinner. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The hotel is near a very busy set of railroad tracks. Our room was out over the water and while we could hear the trains it was very muted and had zero impact on our sleep. We would suggest getting a room farther out over the water as some of the rooms nearer the office could be impacted by the train noise. The room was super comfortable with a fireplace, one of the electric ones with lights and heat. The bed was very comfortable with a large variety of sizes and types of fillings. The room includes a coffee maker, microwave, and small refrigerator. The view was amazing looking west at Ruston Way, the Olympics, and the sound. The room includes a very good breakfast which included, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, potatoes, bacon, Belgian waffles, fruit, yogurt, and a variety of bread items and wonderful coffee all topped off by the view. There is a parking charge of $16.00 so keep that in mind. We had a wonderful stay and all the staff was so friendly and warm

This right here is the ultimate date night. It is so romantic. This is were my husband and I go for a nice quiet date night. This time however my husband and I invited the kids to our little get away. However, my husband got them their own room. I was so shocked at what a difference that made. Knowing that my kids where just right down the hall is very comforting. I absolutely love that no matter what room you are in you get an ocean view.

Be careful to ensure you are booking at the correct location. We intended to book at the new location and accidentally booked at this location. We ended up having a fabulous stay, though! The hotel room was beautiful and spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the jacuzzi tub was huge. This is a great location to see great views of the water and a short walk to multiple restaurants.

Nice basic hotel with prime location and incredible water views. Based on the ratings, I expected a nicer experience overall. My main issue was the housekeeping staff vacuuming the main corridor in front of the room from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM on a Sunday morning - and loudly greeting each person who walked by, who would have otherwise passed by the rooms in silence. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I could tell that the issue would probably not be passed along. This seems like the kind of place that will post a very sincere apology online but likely not address the actual issue.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Silver Cloud Inn and would have given five stars if it weren't for the fact that they charge $14 dollars per night to park for hotel guests. Since guests are paying such a high price already for such a nice hotel, you would think they would parking would be included. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a gorgeous view. The staff/hotel were very accommodating and welcomed our service dog. The hotel is in a safe and nice location, with a dog park just feet away which was very convenient since we were traveling with our service dog. The breakfast options were great, they offered both hot and cold items, everything tasted good. Staff were always very nice, friendly and prompt in taking care of any of our needs in a timely manner. We definitely recommend.

Had a family trip weekend getaway for my birthday and all I can say is: the views!! Right below our window I saw a big seal down below too. I didn't even wanna sleep in our bed. I think I spent 90% of the time sitting in front of the window staring out into the bay. Very relaxing and the kiddo enjoyed it as well. Breakfast was wonderful each morning. Staff was awesome and friendly and the housekeepers were top notch and very very helpful! If you have a kid that loves trains too-this is the place 🤣 there's one that goes by fairly often. I can see why some may not like that (obviously) but we enjoyed it a lot! Very clean rooms as well...really, the whole place was spotless. The only downside was we were so confused which location we had made the reservations at so we were expecting a pool but honestly it didn't matter. We were at the beach most of the time anyway and it wasn't disappointing at all in the end. Had a great stay and would love to go back.

I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel! We loved our stay so much on our first visit that when we came back around we specifically looked to book here again. The location: great spot! Beautiful waterfront views, right next to several parks and piers, and the area felt safe enough that I felt comfortable walking alone with my kids to those nearby parks. A good choice for families willing to spend a little extra for a comfortable, enjoyable, and safe stay. The service: the receptionists both time we visited were friendly and personable, and very kind to our kids (a bit deal to parents of overtired and overstimulated little kids). They made everything a breeze for checking and checkout. The rooms: spacious, huge window views onto the water, very well cleaned and stocked. The beds were comfortable and looked fresh and clean. Everything in the room functioned as it was supposed to, from the bathtub drain to the coffeemaker. It might seem like that's not worth mentioning, but after some of the other motels we visited this week, it definitely is. The breakfast: by far the best breakfast we've had in a hotel. The staff kept the area clean, and the dishes and food constantly stocked. The food was really good, too.

Honestly we were really excited to book this hotel for my partners parents birthday, and then very quickly disappointed and feel lied to. We specifically booked a suite that says online that the room has full ocean views. This was supposed to be a fun eventful night for them but was quickly ruined when the only “view” is the street. You can barely see the water which is absolutely ridiculous considering we are paying $500 for just this one night, when the casino could have had a better room. If we are paying $500 for “Full ocean views” then we should have the ocean view. Ridiculous.

At this point I’d have to receive a full refund to feel like this location is worth a better rating / re rating. After lots of planning and research we picked this location and our room a month or more in advance. We could have stayed at a discounted and much more convenient location, the Marriott. As our our annual industry convention was located there. Instead we thought this would be a great ‘ mini vacation’. No kids , a little break from life for a couple of evenings. If you are not bothered by high prices , poor housecleaning management and one heck of a snotty front desk clerk ( Thank you Jack for letting everyone know you don’t get paid enough to deal with these issues- but you do get paid enough to talk back, put down and completely disregard that this experience actually cost us great expense to enjoy. ) then by all means, Reserve their 336 corner suit with a nice two person jacuzzi. It is suppose to be the nicest room with the best amenities in the complex. The wall mounted tv adjusts nicely ( if you need subtitles it does not provide this function and does require to be .. l o u d ). The view is enjoyable, the curtains are entertaining to say the least- be fully dressed when operating the remote. If you are hoping for a full-size mirror - you’ll have to bring your own or walk down to the elevator. Space of the room is nice for a couple. King size bed, HARD Mattress. Otherwise our experience in a nutshell- we reserved one of the best suits, at an allegedly nice location, at an exorbitant amount of money. To find out that if you want your room to be serviced before 430pm/530pm ( we left shortly after 8am ) you , the customer , have to request ‘ priority’ cleaning service. The front desk guy, Jack. Made it clear the front desk has nothing to do with housekeeping , that it was our fault for not making our selves known for priority services and that he doesn’t get paid enough to deal with this. As for trying to intimidate us by slamming the office door and walking on our heels as we left the building, I truly hope you thought twice before entering our room because no PAYING CUSTOMER should walk away feeling like their belongings are at risk of being violated by a snotty kid. Thank you Amanda for helping us connect with the managers business card, information, thank you using the right language to address us and for taking a minute to really understand why this issue was unacceptable. I could be wrong but 1400.0+ for two nights we really had thought by the time our event let out for a break 330-530 we would have time to change for dinning and awards. It’s now 530pm , we did not get to relax or change as they decided that was going to be the only opportunity for a room reset. So, cheers to our annual ‘ get away work trip’ .

I have heard great things about this hotel that I booked 3 nights for my honeymoon. Checking in, I did not feel welcome at all. I also expected something more romantic since it was for a honeymoon stay. The 2nd day I found out the room next to us had a more romantic set up than what we had. The 3rd day while we were at breakfast, I was told I cannot mix things into the waffle batter, but I have seen other people do it before me. Nowhere in the waffle station has a sign that says otherwise. I felt discriminated here.

Great hotel on a pier with a fantastic view. They were under some construction and the contractors didn't tape off some areas where lifts were present and you wouldn't want guests walking under those areas, but other than that we had a great night. The staff are wonderfully kind and we'd like to stay here again someday.

I booked this place for my bf 21st birthday, it was easy booking & they’re friendly and helpful over the phone. When we arrived, they upgraded his room to a better view with a jacuzzi complementary for his birthday which was amazing and shocking! Room was clean & fresh & bed is comfortable. Definitely recommend & would book again in the future !

Rooms are clean and interior is updated. The Staff are super friendly and the location is unbeatable. Great views from almost all the rooms. Complimentary Breakfast is also delicious and simple with a fantastic morning view. Only downside. Not enough to take a star away, is the shower. The water pressure is a joke. More like a trickle.
