Our 8 week old pup was taken to the back while we waited eight hours for a doctor to never even see our pup. They told us our puppy would be alright to be taken home and seen in the morning. Our little pup passed away the next day. They seem to only treat the obvious critical animals first and the rest when they had time. They never even examined to see how critical our puppy was. He had pneumonia and was anemic.

They wanted to kill my cat told me I had to take out a 10k loan. Because my cat needed surgery. I denied applying for the loan and they wanted to put my cat down. Asked if I wanted to see my cat one last time before they kill him. Do not go here if you can help it!!!!! They are horrible!!!!! I over heard the receptionist telling everyone the same thing get this loan get this loan. These people are no good. By the way my cat is still alive and doing great. They did nothing to help him out! Place should not be open!!!

Don't take you pet here. On Christmas day we brought our lab in for what we thought may be intestinal blockage. Due to her not eating. And when she did it would not stay down. After waiting 4.5 hours we got brought into a consulting room where Dr. Thorpe told us our dog should be hospitalized before even a x-ray was taken. Gave me a estimate of least and most price.. for surgery. I declined until an x-ray was done. After the x-ray he said. No sign of blockage. And prescribed laxatives . On Monday still no bowel movement we went to another emergency hospit where a x-ray was taken and again no blockage so the vet suggested blood work. Turns out our dog has something going on with her liver. Blood work was not suggested or offered at blue pearl. We paid almost 800.00 for a misdiagnosed opinion. Glad I didn't cave to the pressure of this opinion. BluePearl you are taken advantage of people. Someone needs to reach out to me and explain themselves.

Great care and concern from staff. They really treat the animals well and are compassionate to family requests. Don't blame the Pet Hospital for long wait times - it is nearly impossible to get in immediately anywhere in this region. They will triage and stabilize your pet until it can be treated. Also, the actual cost was much lower than the estimate the doctor provided and I was refunded the difference. Overall, top notch staff and operation.

The Kirkland location correctly identified that I would need a neurologist for my dog's condition (deep-pain negative paraplegic from IVDD) and referred me to Tacoma where a neurologist would be in the next day versus the one they had on-call. They were accommodating when so many other emergency hospitals would or could not. They have been so kind and gracious even though they are inevitably most always busy. Dr. Chavera makes herself available to us by email and spent so much time discussing every detail with us over the phone and in person. We are so grateful for everything each associate has done and continues to do to help us and our doggy daughter at a time when our world turned upside down. Their care and support mean the world.

This place needs some serious reevaluation and work. The Vet if that’s what you could even call him only seemed to want to take our money, proceeded to call our dog a “lemon” of a dog, and showed no empathy. We were charged an obscene amount of money (about 2k) for some “tests” of which they DID NOT go over the results with us, and then when we called for them to go over it with us we never received a call back. We took our dog to a much better vet and are FINALLY getting the correct care for him. DO NOT BECOME A VET IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO TREAT ANIMALS LIKE A NUMBER. Vets name was Sheppard Thorp and he was trash. DO BETTER!

I want to thank the Blue Pearl Team & Dr Thorpe for all the Compassion & Love they showed Bentley at the end of his life. I read reviews before taking him to Blue Pearl our vet recommended them. It's only been a day since we put Bentley down and it's been pretty rough for us, but his spirit is with anyone that knew him he was pretty special and made you smile. Thank you for all you do to help our pets!🐾 KR

Wish I could leave zero stars. I took my dog in because he wasn’t eating or drinking. I guess I’m glad they offered to do X-rays and bloodwork but they pushed me out with some medication that did nothing. Yesterday he was doing even worse so I called them to ask for a referral to take him somewhere and they blew me off. I took him to Summit and they looked at him and said he needed surgery immediately for an intestinal blockage. My boy was literally dying and blue pearl gave me anti nausea medicine that cost me almost $400. Summit referred me to Sumner Veterinary and they got him in right away. He’s fine now but if I had just trusted blue pearl my boy would be dead. There are a lot of reviews saying they only care about the money and I feel the same way. If you need ER care avoid blue pearl because they either don’t know how to do their jobs or they just didn’t do their jobs. Save the heartache, go to summit instead.

Long rant incoming, PLEASE read If I could do zero I would. If you love your pet, and value your hard earned money look elsewhere for help. My husky ate an ice pack that was out because of the hot day we just experienced. She began acting intoxicated (as there’s essentially straight alcohol in the pack she ate) so I took her in because I wanted to make sure she was okay. Vets after 4 hours of waiting tried to tell me my animal has been suffering from kidney failure for months?!? And recommend I put her down right then and there, or pay more than $5000 to “keep an eye on her, and further evaluate her condition” SCAM. They IGNORED what she had eaten, IGNORED what I told them to be true. This is a commission based practice, just like a used car lot your pet is just a number. $1000 for them to pump an IV in her. Not to mention the fact that every vet Tech that I spoke to had a different story as to what was going on with her. One told me dehydration, one told me the ice pack caused her illness, and another stated kidney failure. My puppy is here today healthy as ever with no further action recommended from her vet.

One of our Chihuahuas had a very bad hot spot as a result of an earlier injury. She made it a lot worse by obsessively licking it. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. to find her very hot to the touch. I felt like she might have had a fever. I walked in and these guys were great (I didn't realize you were supposed to call first but they threw me in the mix quickly). They took her vitals and discovered she did not have a fever and could wait to see her regular vet on Monday. Just peace of mind really helped me feel better! Thank you guys for being there when we need you 🙂

The doctor was kind and ended my pet’s life with compassion and I am very grateful to her. The reason I am giving a 1 star is because I asked them to wrap her in a blanket after she passed to take her home and they assured me that they would. They put her in a box and sealed it with tape. When the box was handed to me I could hear her sliding around when I moved. I got home and found that there was no blanket or anything. Just her body in a box. The lack of compassion and care was just so hurtful. This might have been just another dog to them but to us she was our family. The front desk staff also scolded me for coming without calling and told me next time I needed to call while my dog was suffering in my arms. The whole process of losing our dog was hard enough and they need some training in being compassionate.

The front desk girl (Audrey or Aubrey ?) is enough to make you go any where else. “We have a dog who got hit by a car, so unless your dog is dying, we can’t see you.” Zero empathy for those of us coming in crying our eyes out about our animals. If you see her, ask to speak to someone else immediately. Straight up told me she doesn’t answer billing questions and then just turned away to get back on her computer, instead of offering to find someone else that could. Why is she here?? Seriously. She is SO rude.

Long hours waiting and high bills, but they saved my cat. The emergency doctors and nurses are great and I will be forever thankful for treating my cat so well. The doctors are very knowledgeable and know what they are doing. They took a great care of my cat, even though she is not friendly and hisses at everyone. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is because my money is all gone now lol but my cat is alive, it was worth it!!!

The nurses and the doctor were fantastic with taking care of my girl. I went to blue pearl twice in Florida with my other dog and was less than thrilled about them, so I was nervous taking Sadie to them, but they were fantastic. The front desk staff were not very great in my opinion. Definitely seemed nice, but they acted like I was bothering them when I had to ask them questions and then didn’t pass along information when I asked them to. Also, they never filled my medication or gave it to me after I paid, and when I went up to ask, they completely ignored me while they talked about non work stuff. The doctor had to ask if I needed anything, which was amazing of her. We are going back for neurology soon, and I feel confident they will take care of my girl well!

**Unfortunately since this review we had to let our kitty cross the rainbow bridge but after seeing our vet and getting a quote we decided to bring her back to blue Pearl and everyone was so kind and understanding. Their services were also $150 less than our actual vet. Although I hope we don't have to come back here for a long time I know our pets will always recieve the best care from the loving, caring people at this clinic We woke up Saturday morning to an exhausted wheezy cat and I immediately knew it wasn't good. I called blue pearl and explained her symptoms and they told me to bring her in. Our kitty was seen almost immediately because they were expecting her. It was bad news with a huge bill and extremely emotionally overwhelming as we weren't expecting to have to possibly put our cat down that day. We initially decided to have her made comfortable so we could take her home and bring her back the following day but after some tests we decided to take the Doctors recommendation and put her on meds and as of today she's happier than she's ever been. She's still really sick and doesn't have a long life ahead of her but the doctor saved her life that day and we are forever grateful. This office was also very respectful of our money and didn't do a single thing more than what was needed which ended up saving us 50% from the initial estimate. My husband and I got this cat for free and she's been the most expensive free cat in the world but this was worth every penny. Now she gets to live out her best days living her best cat life in luxury. We appreciate everything they did for us.

I took my GSD there and was greeted by friendly staff, none of which treated him with any sort of breed stigma. They treated Him with proper care and respect throughout the whole visit. I was told it was a 3-6 hour wait but he was seen at 3. After the first exam they took him in for sedation and x rays and told me it would be another 4-5 hours but it ended up being about 3-4.The vet working with us, Katrina Huskie was absolutely wonderful. She was thorough and answered my many questions with patience. It was pricey, but that’s the case with all emergency care as opposed to your regular vet. My dog, even with being in pain was comfortable with the people working with him and over all we had a great experience. I drove an hour to get to there and I would make the drive again if necessary.

We are so thankful for the care we have received here. Our oncologist, Dr. Broom and our surgeon, Dr. Anglin, have been incredibly helpful and understanding. They’ve taken time to call us and walk through all options for treating our pup and they’ve made him feel so comfortable (he is usually pretty anxious). It’s so comforting knowing he’s in such good hands as he goes through this battle. Thank you, BluePearl!

I took my German shepherd to summit vet hospital, Concerned about possible bloat. They confirmed it was. But didn't have a surgeon available. They called blue pearl and got me in. I rushed right over. They rushed him in immediately. Performed surgery that took over 3 hours. They kept me informed the entire time time he was there, for the 2 days. I was able to go in and see him. I received updated texts and calls the entire time. They saved my dogs life. They were wonderful.

Don't have enough words to describe how grateful we are for BluePearl Pet Hospital in Lakewood. Especially Dr. Chavera! Our dog Oscar woke up 3 weeks ago paralyzed in all 4 limbs. BluePearl got us right in and immediately brought him back for an assessment. A MRI confirmed he had a herniated disc in his neck and that surgery would be his best option for a full recovery. Once we gave the go-ahead they made his surgery their priority and took great care of our boy the 4 days he was there. We got calls with updates multiple times a day during his stay. Dr. Chavera took the time to explain things in great detail and never made us feel rushed with our questions. We could tell that she truly cares for her patients and felt so comfortable knowing he was in her capable hands. 10 days after his surgery he stood on his own and took a couple assisted steps and today (22 days after surgery) he walked right through the same doors he was carried through, limp and paralyzed just 3 weeks ago. Just so proud of his continued progress! The surgery/stay in the hospital was incredibly expensive and since we have never been in this situation before, I can't compare to what the cost could've been elsewhere but they were the only place that could get us in that day and time was of the essence. Thank you to Dr. Chavera and her neurology team for their expertise, kindness and commitment to our sweet pup. It will never be forgotten!!

I cannot express enough how grateful we are for the professionalism and kindness of this staff. We brought our cat Cersei in for an emergency visit after some breathing issues, and the front receptionists allowed me in even at full capacity. Dr Huffman was so good with her and honest with delivering our news. Our sunshine girl had FIP and needed to be put to rest at an early age of 2.5 years old. They were so patient and kind with her care. Thank you Blue Pearl vet staff for taking care of our girl. I would highly recommend this emergency clinic.

We had a very difficult week with our dog Olive and Blue Pearl helped us through it. They were very busy, but the veterinarians always made time to explain things to us as we made decisions about our dogs healthcare. Everyone there was very compassionate. This type of care is not inexpensive and I certainly understand the frustration that some reviewers felt when faced with expensive care for their loved ones.

Worst place ever.... My sister took this little 3 year old yorkie to get some blood work done, they kept her there for over 5 hours and they ended up doing nothing for her not even a little of peanut butter, I THINK THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND NOT THE CARE OF PETS, THEY SEE THEM AS $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ AND NOT SOMEONES FAMILY MEMBER, so they told her that her glucose lvl was low and she had liver disease, so that they wanted to keep her there overnight for more observation, so they gave her some estimates on how much it was gonna cost her and she ended up not leaving her there but at midnight she passed away may her soul rest in peace :( i think that if they did anything for her that she would still be alive I WOULDNT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE.

Incredible staff and facility. Our husky began having seizures, many within a few hours. As is normally the case in an emergency, these began outside normal business hours. The staff here was so incredibly compassionate on the phone, offering advice and direction while trying to find a way to squeeze us in an already booked schedule. We arrived and they got us in quickly. We saw Dr. Spath. She then brought in Dr. Hicks for neurology and they conducted a multitude of tests. Honestly this entire facility and staff are top notch; from the receptionists, techs and doctors. Unfortunately they only see people in duress and it's hard to separate the care received from the reason one is even there. I would feel confident bringing any of my pets needs to them for care.

I was so impressed with the staff and facility. Both doctors we worked with (Dr. Burggren and Dr. Thorp) were so kind and attentive. I know they were busy, but I did not feel rushed at all when speaking to them. They answered all of my questions so thoroughly. The receptionists and nurses were very calm and kind every time I spoke to them, even when I was an anxious mess. The facility was extremely clean and welcoming. We had to come back a second time because my dog was still not better after being released, and was very surprised and impressed when they did not charge us an additional exam or hospital fee. Highly, highly recommend this hospital.

All of the staff at Blue Pearl were friendly and accommodating. They were able to get us in for an a appointment quickly which resulted in an easier surgery and recovery for my pet. They were understanding of all of our concerns and took time to explain all of the risks, benefits, and costs of all treatment options with no pressure.

We recently took our dog to Blue Pearl Emergency Vet Hospital due to what we strongly suspected was a case of mastitis. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we were expecting or hoping for. Upon arrival, we were seen by the DVM who, despite our dog's clear symptoms, seemed hesitant to confirm our dog's condition. We were expecting a straightforward diagnosis, but instead, we were met with ambiguity and a lack of concrete answers. We found it particularly frustrating that despite having a good idea of what was wrong with our dog, the DVM was not able to provide any clear and definitive answers. The lack of clarity was only exacerbated by the cost of the visit. We ended up paying over $400, which, under normal circumstances and with a clear diagnosis, would have been understandable given the high level of care that emergency vet hospitals usually provide. However, in this case, we couldn't help but feel like we had paid a hefty sum for what amounted to an educated guess. The aftermath ended up being a ruptured abscess leaving a sizeable open wound that could have been prevented if the proper care were administered. While we appreciate that veterinary medicine can sometimes be a complex field where not every diagnosis is black and white, we were left feeling disappointed with the service we received. The cost of the visit did not seem to match the level of care or the quality of the diagnosis we received. In the future, we would hope to see a more clear communication process from the vets at Blue Pearl Vet Hospital. Pet owners should feel confident that they are receiving accurate and definitive information about their pet's health, especially when they are paying such high costs for a consultation. In conclusion, while we had high hopes for Blue Pearl Emergency Vet Hospital, the lack of clear communication and the high consultation fee left us feeling disappointed and questioning the value for money. We hope our feedback is taken into consideration and that necessary improvements are made to ensure better experiences for future pet owners.

We have brought our dog here for a few emergencies (eating bees) and for a surgery. Each experience is reassuring and helpful. The desk attendants are welcoming, considerate, and professional. The technicians are thorough and professional when listening to the issue and in explaining the process moving forward. The doctors are knowledgeable and professional, and so very kind to our dog. We have always had good experiences with this pet hospital and they have earned our trust and gratitude. To the staff: We are thankful to you. Please continue your difficult work in taking care of our most innocent and beloved family members.

I could not rave enough about how sweet, caring and thorough the entire staff is. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back (hopefully not anytime soon 😂). Even after being given heart breaking news dr perry was nothing but kind and sympathetic, she gave us multiple care options, was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us come to an informed decision easily. We were given thorough documentation to help us provide at home care along with written instructions for my pups 5 different medications. Thank you blue pearl staff and crew. Your kindness is absolutely what made a horrible day better.

ZERO STARS-I called to check availability and was told to bring my dog in after he was attacked by another dog for care. Waited over 10 hours, my dog had a deep laceration above his eye, noticeable swelling and infection in both eyes and down his face. He was scene by the doc on the floor of the waiting room after I lost my patience. He was the only animal with open wounds I saw come in the entire day and the only animal not checked out in a room. Highly disappointed, disgusted with the service not to mention the HUNDREDS of dollars this visit cost for almost no care of my pet. I was even told at one point to call another place down the road. I was told countless times my pet was next to be seen and it wouldn’t be long. A family member even called the clinic to discuss the lack of care and concern and the clinic STILL has not reached out regarding this matter nor returned calls 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND all they want is your money

Money shouldn't matter when it comes to saving your loved ones, and I'm so thankful that this place was there for me and my boy Frank. The doctor came out to sit with me and explain exactly what was happening and what needed to be done, which made me feel a lot more comfortable, despite the obvious stress of having to go to an emergency vet. I just can't thank them enough, and I'm so happy that my boy Frank is happy, healthy, and safe at home.

I cannot express my gratitude to BluePearl staff and doctor enough. We called every emergency vet clinic we could find near the Olympia/Lacey vinicity and none of them could accommodate us even though our dog was critical; they wouldn't see us and said they were diverting patients to call/visit vet clinics in Idaho and Oregon, which would have been impossible for us considering our dog's condition. We eventually called BluePearl and they told us to bring her in and they would see what they could do even though it may be a few hours wait. We came and they started to access our situation. Once they saw how lethargic our dog was, they immediately took her back and started to triage. After giving her oxygen and taking her temperature they made the decision to do x-rays and blood work right away, keeping us well informed throughout the entire process. Not once did they make us feel rushed or like a burden, even though they had multiple others waiting. Ultimately, the decision was to let her go peacefully due to her age and condition. They allowed us space and as much time as we needed to say goodbye, providing us a room to sit and just be with her privately. They're response to her condition and our situation was absolutely impeccable. I was feeling pretty hopeless when the other emergency vet clinics turned us away as I knew she was struggling and wanted to figure out how to reduce her suffering, whatever way that may result in. I am so grateful for the honesty, empathy and compassion BluePearl gave us. They made us feel cared for in a really difficult situation. 100% would recommend them to anyone going through a critical situation with their fur baby.
