They charge $12 per person for a tiny museum. And they ask for your ID and ask u covid questions. Ive been to huge theme parks and they dont put me through that. I spent time waiting to get in for a brief experience. Honestly ridiculous. Not to mention you have to wear a mask and there is mask police on your case while your walking around. Stop being so difficult and take it easy people. Not worth the trouble or money.

This is a really awesome little museum situated on a High School campus. It is a private school. Parking is free, but you will need to sign in at the front kiosk at the parking lot (adults need a visitor pass). You will then pay inside to visit the museum. Staff were all exceptionally nice and informative. There are a lot of fossils that were found in our deserts, including Barstow, and were found by the students from this school. This school has a lot of history. The museum is two stories and you may finish browsing it pretty quickly. I suggest you take your time and read the displays as they are very fascinating. There a some hands on activities for the kids, including a dig pit. Our kids who are 9 and 12 had a really good time here.

Love this museum it's not big by any means but for its size it's great. The best part is the full allosaurus metal skeleton.

This museum is amazing! Our three girls are huge dinosaur fans. In fact, our oldest wants to be a paleontologist! This museum is for the young and old. It is small enough to not get overwhelmed, yet big enough to hold amazingly wonderful dinosaur treasures! They have hands on activities children. A must see and visit!

General $12; students/youths/seniors $9. Check in at the Webb school first. Free parking. Small museum about ~1 hour visit.

Upstairs downstairs.. kids love it. Has plenty of fossilss and other cool stuff 2play around with... I wouldn't plan on making it a whole day thing. It's a cool little quick museum to check out.. but at most maybe like an hour to see everything 3times or more

We had no idea this museum was so close by and it is now one of our favorites! There are two floors filled to the brim with so much to see and learn. Fun for both adults and kids. Large skeleton are every where and there are a lot of opportunities for the kids to interact with the exhibits. There is plenty of parking and a guard booth you need to check in at, and they will direct you to the entrance.

Very cute and informative museum, and also very interactive. The museum is small but has a lot of info packed and many models of bones to look at. Very good for children in learning and seeing dinosaur bones. They’ll like it !

I took my 5 year old son to this museum because he loves dinosaurs and it was not far from home. Although this museum is small, it truly is a hidden gem, especially if you live in the area. Not only the history behind all the fossils found is interesting, but the fact that the students at the school have participated in finding them makes it even cooler. The donation fee is small and goes to a good cause (we paid $9 for the both of us) and helps fund the small museum and the activities they have for families on the weekends. Children 4 and under are free, and there are student discounts. I gave it four stars because this museum is on a school campus, therefore you have to check in with a security guard and you cannot go in without a driver's license and a visitor tag. You can not explore the campus because it is a highschool campus. Definitely eat before or after because they don't allow picnicking!

Absolutely love and recommend this museum!! Kids (even adults) will have an exciting time here. It's a 2 story, downstairs is where the kids will enjoy the fun. It's not a huge museum but there's a lot to see. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

This is an easy place to spend a few hours with the kids or on your own. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a friendly attendant and guided to the museum. Inside we paid and were also given suggestions of how to view the museum by a friendly receptionist. This place is a local treasure of knowledge. Definitely recommend. Btw it is apart of a private school campus - which was interesting.

When you pull up there will be a gate and signs that say private property...don't worry,, you are in the right spot. The gates will open automatically and there is a small building with a person who will direct you.. We enjoyed our visit but it took less than 30 min to go through the entire museum. All of the interactive displays were closed. If they had been open it probably would have taken just about 30 min to go through it. If you have a kiddo who loves dinosaurs this is a nice little place to go. You can get pretty close to the fossils. There are plenty of signs to remind you not to touch. If you have a kiddo who feels the need to touch everything this may not be the best place for them unless you hover over them every minute. If you don't live close make sure you plan another activity in the area to make the drive worthwhile.

A small and beautiful museum. Hidden away but I cannot recommend the Alf Musuem enough. Friendly staff, a wonderful representation of evolutionary biology. Housed in a cylindrical building with two floors, the bottom holds footprint impressions, early California mamalian skeletons and a interactive area for children.

Always a fun time here! I used to have a membership here 10 years ago. But have not had a chance to return.. came here with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. We explored almost the entire place except the planetarium. The aquarium is my favorite especially the jellies. The rainforest wasn't very crowded, the butterflies, the parrots, the spiders.... oh my! The earthquake room exhibit was also a favorite. Great place to spend with the kids.

Super cool gem. Staff are a bit ridiculous with rules. I saw one harass a 20 year old for appearing “under age” without a parent, even though they were respectful and clearly doing research. Other than that, way cool.

Phenomenal, the staff went above and beyond to help in every way possible. My teens had a blast and just love it.

The museum was smaller than expected and within the premises of Webb (boarding) school so you'll have to have your IDs scanned to be allowed into the museum. It took us about 30 minutes to look around and we were reading everything. You can get in for free with EBT, which is nice.

If you're into paleontology, here's a nice gallery of fine artifacts. Many of them discovered in near-by Barstow, CA. Also many of them uncovered with the help of kids who attend the high school where the museum is located. Friendly knowledgeable staff.

Took the family here today and we ALL had a great time! Everyone from 87 to 7 had a ball! Very nicely done…informative & interactive. Not to mention less than $50 for a family of 4! If you have an EBT card a family of 4 is free! Can’t beat that!!

I came here a year ago and although it was a lot of fun, the security guard at the front gate made the experience horrible. I don’t know why from the second we got there he was being really mean to me and disrespectful. I did speak up because I wasn’t going to let an old man disrespect me like that. He then proceeded to tell why I had gotten a reservation for 11 am if the museum opens at 12 pm and made us wait for an hour. When we got to the museum, they told us we were late for our reservation and I was so confused and told them the security guard wouldn’t let us go in because he told us otherwise. The workers at the museum were very kind and let us in even after our reservations were made and made the day better so thank you!

A good place to take our toddler who is very in to dinosaurs! They have weekend programs and plenty of hands-on displays for little ones. Lots of interesting exhibits from the surrounding area. Excellent location in the foothills. Lots of steps to get to the museum.

This is good musium. Very informative, although it is a lot of reading. Very cool exhibits nevertheless. The campus this is set on is absolutely beautiful however they will not allow you to walk it :( however for the price and if you are close it is a great way to spend an hour or two

  • 5/5 Yannie Y. 11 months ago on Google
The visitors were greeted and checked in with an organized manner at the parking lot. We received clear detailed directions to the museum right away. I cannot walk much during my last visit and the staffs walked me though the wheelchair path patiently.

  • 5/5 Angie C. D. 5 years ago on Google
The museum is small but has a lot of information on paleontology and origins of life organisms. Many of the casts and replicas were provided by actual students from Webb High School. There are some fun interactive displays for kids to check out on the lower level.

  • 5/5 Sammy G. 5 years ago on Google
What a beautiful and truly interesting place! We had a lot of fun learning about dinosaurs. It's a really neat place. There are even places where you can go watch the scientists work in real time. Very cool! This should be an often visited spot for local inland empire residents.

Found this hidden gem after visiting my grandmother in La Verne. How did I not know this place was there? It’s located on the Webb campus in Claremont; such a beautiful campus. Went with my two children (ages 9 & 11). Having just seen Jurassic World last night, I think it made it even better! Upstairs has lots of fossil replicas and downstairs there are more hands on experiences. We even got to see volunteers casting a fossil. Staff was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

  • 5/5 R.P. F. 5 years ago on Google
This is at a working School be careful, Google guides you to a parking lot behind the classrooms. Security will find you quickly. It was an awesome experience, and I think it is friendly for kids, especially downstairs where they have exhibits and you can get Hands-On with. Nice small building easy to navigate Museum. Deals heavily fossilized tracks, I think the largest collection in the world. You can speed through in an hour or spend a half-day here.

  • 5/5 Emmanuel P. 4 years ago on Google
Had such a great time, and learned a lot!

  • 5/5 Terry V. 5 years ago on Google
It's not very big but it's packed full of stuff to look at. And all the bones are about an arm's reach away (but do not touch!). I don't think this place warrants repeated trips but if you are in the area with kids, definitely check it out.

I went to the museum yesterday (6/5/19), had a great time. The facility is great, the staff very friendly and helpful, and security at the gate were also great. Any and all questions asked were answered and the short visit with the officer at the gate was also good. I'll definitely go again. I only regret I have no children to take, but I will let friends with kids know about the facility.

  • 3/5 DARLENE O. 5 years ago on Google
Not stroller or wheelchair friendly. Theres no elevator. If you want to go downstairs, you have to take baby out of stroller and walk downstairs where, ironically, the children's area is.

In 1995, back before the 210 freeway reached Claremont, my kindergarten class took a field trip to the Alf Museum where we actually met Raymond Alf! He was still giving tours despite his age. It was a pivotal inspiration in my youth. Today I still visit the museum from time to time and they never stop improving it!
