Saroornagar lake aka Saroornagar cheruvu aka mini tank bund is a water body in Saroornagar East. This lake was created in 1626 for irrigating agricultural land and drinking purpose. The initial purpose is lost in the current scenario. All agricultural land has become concrete jungles. And the inhabitants there dump their waste into this water body. There is a terrible stench when we pass by the lake. Still many people are seen spending their time in the vicinity. The Priyadarshini Park is adjacent to this lake.

There’s also a park nearby always bustling with kids on the swings and the elderly chit-chatting and walking about. It’s a great place to spend the evening! If more initiatives would be taken for cleanliness, then the lake can surely be a venue to more activities…

You can visit well maintained Priyadarshini Park adjacent to the lake & allow your kids to play there for while.

GHMC & other governmental agencies maintaining the lake destroyed it. In fact they are conspiring to extinct it.
