Ordered to-go. Never have had such an issue with a Cracker Barrel as we did tonight. Firstly, they forgot to bag one of our items, so my husband had to go back in and request it. It was given, but he was met with attitude. Secondly, one of our orders was Chicken & Dumplings with an extra side of dumplings. The dish they gave was basically soup (pictured) with a sad piece of chicken and scraps of dumplings. Not even 1 solid portion worth of dumplings you would normally receive or chicken. Heavily disappointing. All of our food was lukewarm at best, and we were on time for picking it up.. no reason for it to be so cold. Eggs Benedict was part of our order as well; eggs were softer than ordered and cooked attached, which doesn't make any sense for eggs benny. Overall, the wait + cost was not worth the poor service and received meal items. We won't be returning to this location.

My wife loves Cracker Barrel, and the service at this location was superb. We both had the chicken and dumplings dinner, which was amazing, and if you haven't tried the beignets, you're truly missing out. My one and only complaint is that they seem to always be out of hot apple cider, but I imagine that it may be a testament to its popularity.

I usually love Cracker Barrel. This location is close to a number of hotels and I arrived about 30-45 minutes before closing. On a very positive. the best note. my server was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and nice. Everything else was average at best. The greeters and cashier's were too busy chatting in one spot and on their phone, it took a bit to be greeted/seated. Usually enjoy the Chicken/dumplings but these were runny and bland. Overall, just okay.

Usually a pretty solid place to eat. They're famous for comfort food & they do it well. The service is usually friendly, fairly quick, & reasonably priced. The attached store has an eclectic variety of gifts & merchandise too. They also have a lot of throw back sodas, candies, & treats to purchase to take you back to when you were a kid.

This is one of the best Cracker Barrels around. Food was fresh. The service was great. Pickup some jelly or snacks while you are here.

I'm new to Cracker Barrel. I heard they allow overnight parking (one of very few places in the USA still allowing it) and Safe! I'm trying them out while I drive across America. Staff is great! They gift shop is amazing and very tempting. The food is good, heavy, Americana style. Very nice over all.

The food was good. The biscuits and cornbread was a bit on the dry side. Needed more butter and jelly.

My wife and I had dinner at the Cracker Barrel. The food was good. I had roast beef, mash potatoes, gravy, and salad. The beef was so tender that you could barely stab it with a fork before it fell apart. The potatoes and gravy were good. The salad was fresh with lots of goodies. My wife had just the dinner salad and a little of the roast beef. Before our meal, Patrick brought 3 warm biscuits, 3 warm cornbread muffins, lots of butter, and jam, so amazingly yummy. The best part of our meal was Patrick, our sever. He has a delightful personality, is warm, friendly, and attentive. We hope Cracker Barrel management knows what a treasure they have in Patrick!!

Decent location of Cracker Barrel. We were traveling and needed a quick late dinner. We were concerned as we pulled up because the lights in the signs weren’t on, but they were indeed up (until 10 on the weekends, 9pm weekdays). They were pretty slow, so we’re seated promptly. Shout out to our server Julie who was welcoming and knew what she was doing. Once we ordered, our food came out in a flash which was nice since we wanted to get back on the road. The food was tasty, my complaint is that it was not very hot. I learned that Cracker Barrel now serves alcohol!

This is a great reliable chain consistent with it's food and service. We went with a party of nine seven adults and two kids. We only had a short wait to be seated that gave us just a good time to have a look round the shop. Service was quick and efficient and the issue with one meal was shorted very quickly. Prices are very competitive good food for a reasonable price. The service was attentive without being in your face. We are regular visitors to the USA and we normally like to do at least one meal in Cracker Barrell.

Can only base this on a limited holiday pick-up experience. The 1st order was done very quickly but we waited almost an hour for our 2nd order. So majority of food was cold & looked sad. The taste & quality were way off and if food was warm it possibly could've been better tasting. Portion sizes were small and missing items that are expected to be present such as whipped topping on our small slice of pie. Wouldn't recommend for pick-up but would rather encourage dine in only.

We are a cracker barrel family and it is,hands down, our favorite restaurant chain. The food is always good and the atmosphere is nice. I rated a 3 for service because we got our order wrong and the waitress didn't seem like she wanted to help us get it fixed. Overall, I highly recommend this one and we will be back.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I took my family here a few nights ago. The wood burning fire was going and the atmosphere was great. Our waitress was top notch and provided an excellent customer experience. All time standards were spot on as well. Topped off the night with one of the mini strawberry cheesecakes! If you are looking for something different in the Des Moines metro, then give this place a shot!

When I go out to eat, it is usually to a local independent restaurant. Cracker Barrel still gets some visits due to their unique sides and meal offerings (greens, dumplings, etc.). I’ve been fortunate enough to have never had a bad experience here, even during the weird times after restaurants started re-opening after the Covid closures.

Last year, Thanksgiving 2021. Our family didn’t have Thanksgiving so we went to this Cracker Barrel on University for a Thanksgiving meal. It’s the same situation this year so we are looking for somewhere to go have a Thanksgiving meal. We won’t be going to Cracker Barrel. Our experience in 2021 was the waitress clearly did not want to be working that night. I couldn’t blame her but I’m guessing her attitude affected her tips… Each meal was pre-portioned and there was no substitute. For example there were sweet potatoes which we don’t like and we asked for just additional mashed potatoes and gravy with no sweet potatoes and they would not do that. We are pretty sure that the turkey was some sort of pressed turkey rather than a turkey breast. We all agreed the best part of the meal were the green beans that were served. I was surprised at the price of the meal for what we got. It wasn’t worth it. This is typically a good restaurant but we won’t be back especially for Thanksgiving.

My first time eating at Cracker Barrel and it was good. I had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes, white gravy, green beans and corn bread. The food was good the biscuits were a little on the dry and crunchy side but they were still good. I was seated right away and my waitress took my order fairly quickly which made for quick service. The atmosphere is family oriented. I would say I'd recommend this place.

We had 13 people for a family brunch. Had to wait an hour to get seated, which was kind of expected since they don't take reservations. However when we were seated, we were split between 3 tables. We weren't able to put the tables together to eat as a family. It was disappointing. Food was delivered to two of the three tables. 10 minutes later the food came to the third table. As one of the people at the third table, my eggs had obviously been sitting a while. My nephew said there was definitely not enough gravy for biscuits and gravy. Other than that the food was good.

Waiter was completely weeded. Would understand this if he hadn't rolled his eyes at us when we asked for the items that were requested when the order was given. Would have forgiven when he apologized for it, had he not blamed it on other servers calling in. Manager did his best to soothe over the visit. It was my first time at a Cracker Barrel. I will only go back with my best friend cause she loves it...otherwise I would never return.

Love the way its layer out with the only exception being placement of the registers. Lots of cool stuff.

It's a nice place to have breakfast. Food was good but it was a little crowded. They also have a store inside with things like candy, clothes and ornaments.

The service was good. No wait for seating and our waitress was super nice. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and the Mama's French Toast Breakfast. Chicken Fried Steak was delicious. French toast was pretty plain Jane, but still delicious and well made. The syrup tasted great and came in an adorable little glass bottle. The price was very affordable as well. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning. Also loved the shop. Lots of adorable items including quilts, kids items, clothing and accessories.

Excellent cracker barrel just off the highway and close to the hospitals. We always stop here for lunch and reload on candy when we have to visit the hospitals and clinics for treatments. Always good and friendly service.

Delicious comfort food with absolutely massive portions. A special treat was the Farm Stand sweet Tea which is a mixture of Peach, Black Cherry and Apricot. Sooo good! The gift shop never disappoints. Only drawback today was the extraordinarily long wait….but it was Sunday and the restaurant was extremely busy with very limited wait staff.

Food is good. Haven’t had any issues with service while dining inside. But I ordered curbside for a 1030 pickup (order was placed at 9am) online. We had a few “lunch” and breakfast items. The thing I still don’t understand is- why you are able to place a “lunch” order for 1030am but it’s still not ready 30 minutes later. And still waiting. Also they waited until 20 minutes AFTER my pick up time to call. Knowing I am waiting outside. I am very dissatisfied with the level of service provided with this curbside pick up. Also the first curbside I have done with Cracker Barrel. 😑😑😑 Received our order at 11:03am for a 1030am pick up. I hope they can work out these kinks. 🥴 Missing: two sausage patties, regular syrup, carrots, extra gravy.

Not as good as other cracker barrels. Chicken was good, but not sauses enough, steak fries were a bit overcooked, and Mac and cheese was bland. It took asking to get a refill of ice tea, and ranch.
